  • Niles finally stands up to Mel.

Frasier hires a butler, after his previous employer passes, meanwhile Niles trys to have a night out with Daphne, but Mel unexpectedly shows up, at a party Frasier is hosting to try and get on the opry board, but everything goes wrong when Niles and Mel have a big argument, with Niles finally putting his foot down, and ending the "shame of a marriage" as he put it, that Mel was making him live through.

Daphne is impressed and happy, that they can finally be together, without Mel, butting in, while Frasier's butler Ferguson, is inspired by Niles and Daphne's love for each other, decides to go after a woman, he though at the time wouldn't workout.

I'm glad Niles finally stood up to Mel, It was real character development on his part.
