This episode shows the unfortunate evolution of what was once a perfect sitcom. Whereas "Frasier" could surprise with either its content or the execution of classic gags in the previous seasons, it seems to slide into recycling and imitation here.

There are two story lines. In the first Frasier desperately tries to get a date with a woman. When he discovers that she works at a retirement home, he uses his father to get closer to her, pretending that Martin might be interested in the home. Frasier Crane has turned into George Costanza? Apart from the fact that Frasier's sudden attraction to the woman is unlike anything we've seen from him, the quality of this ruse is well below his normal standard.

In the second story we see Niles and Daphne discover their new relationship. Although it was a brave step to develop the romantic affair, it did change the characters. Niles remains somewhat his clumsy self, but where is the goofy Daphne? A comedy character has morphed into a standard love interest. That's one less comedy element for the show.
