Season 9 Episode 23

The Guilt Trippers

Aired Thursday 9:00 PM May 14, 2002 on NBC

  • Trivia

    • It seems odd that Frasier was able to pass for Roger at Roz's family gathering. Was her mother not there, who had met Frasier a few years before when they tried to fix her up with Martin? Also, after nine years at Frasier's side it seems unlikely Roz would not have shared a picture of two of the reasonably famous Seattle celebrity she works with.

  • Quotes

    • Niles: Excuse me, do you know a man named Harry Moon, and no, that's not the start of a limerick.

    • Daphne: It's Mum. She's been crying non stop since we left here last night.
Martin: Sounds like a job for the perscription pad Niles.

    • Frasier: I'm the broccoli of dating.

    • Martin: (Nonchalantly) Have you seen the paper?
      Frasier: No, I haven't yet.
Martin: There's a big story about how Roz's purse spent the night on the coffee table.

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Rodgers & Hammerstein: When Frasier is mistaken for Roger by Roz's sister, and decides to play along, he calls himself "Roger Hammerstein". For those who do not know, Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, better known as Rodgers & Hammerstein, are a famous American songwriting duo who are best known for their creation of a number of popular Broadway musicals in the 40s and 50s, such as The King and I and The Sound Of Music.

    • The title of this episode is a possible reference to the 1996 film "The Daytrippers".
