  • Frasier becomes friends with Roz's new boyfriend.

    10
Roz gets involved with a man who owns and lives in a boat, and after meeting Frasier the two become fast friends.

However when Roz breaks up with him for cheating on her, Frasier is hesitant to break off the friendship, so after convincing each other that there was nothing wrong with them being friends, as long as Roz doesn't know, they continue to hang out.

Frasier then begins feeling guilty, feeling as though he betrayed Roz, but what he doesn't know is that Roz took him back, and all the confusion makes Frasier and Roz change their dinner plans constantly.

When Frasier goes to see Luke, to tell him they need to end the friendship, he gets caught in a closet with Roz, when Luke brings home another woman, at which time Frasier, and Roz, fall out of the closet.

I loved this episode, especially when Roz and Frasier kept seeing Luke behind each others back, and then finding out that he lied to them both.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • When Roz and Frasier are in the kitchen and she has a glass of Glenfarclas, the levels in the glass go up and down without Roz taking a sip or refilling her glass.

    • Frasier had good reason to gasp when Roz dumped an 8-oz tumbler of 25 year-old Glenfarclas into the sink. At roughly $150 for a 26-oz bottle, she threw away almost $50 worth.

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • The Prodigal Son

When Niles comes to Frasier's apartment with Eddie, he says, 'the prodigal pup returns'. This references the biblical story of the prodigal son, where a son who has left his father's house in rude fashion returns home contrite.

    • (Niles has brought a peace offering to Martin after leaving Eddie in a kennel)
Niles: Dad, it's from Smoky Mountain Farms -- five different meats in one big box.
      Martin: Not the Slaughterhouse Five...

Slaughterhouse-Five, of course is the 1969 novel by Kurt Vonnegut. This reference also explains the title card, "With Apologies To Mr. Vonnegut".
