Episode Summary

EDIT
Relax-O-Vision: By the order of H.A. Futterman, the disturbingly violent bits in the latest Freakazoid adventure are replaced by calming, mirthful images. But this doesn't stop the Lobe from kidnapping Steph, who responds by screaming some more.

Fat Man And Boy Blubber: Two bulky but plucky superheroes save portly young Louis from a couple of bullying dirtbags. But what is their price?

Limbo Lock-Up: Freakazoid's virtuoso display of idiocy is interrupted by cyberspace's "idiotic police", and he is left to choose between imprisonment and a fate worse than death.

Terror Palace: The Horn of Urgency is sounded, and the Huntsman runs there in a jiffy.moreless

  • This has to be one of the funniest episodes ever!

Oh no! Steff's been captured by Lobe, and is going to be tied to a rocket! Filled with explosions and fights, this would be the most exciting episode ever- if the calming video clips didn't block out ever last bit of action in it. The timing of the relax-o-vision clips makes it even funnier.

You've just gotta love the Batman spoof in this episode.

Still trying to find out why it's called Limbo Lock-Up... Anywho, this part of the episode is totally random, with the surprise appearance of Fan Boy! Wow, I never knew they were allowed to talk about Disney movies... Maybe that's why the series only got two seasons.

Eh, what'd you expect? Something to happen?moreless
  • Great fun with Relax-O-Vision!

I really love this ep. because everytime there is going to be a violent or scary part in the ep. it goes to "Relax-O-Vision" which is a clip of random things like goldfish swimming in a bowl or a butterfly on a flower with some elevator music playing while the words "Relax-O-Vision" is waving at the bottom of the screen. We even have an introduction by a Ben Stein like guy who explains the whole "Relax-O-Vision" thing. Now the actual ep: Freakazoid! is at the fair with his girlfriend Steff(that lucky girl!!!!!!!! Gggrrr...) when he goes off to get her a frozen banana. Lobe comes and kidnaps her. Freakazoid! gets a note explaining everything and where to find Steff. But just as he is deciding if he should go Cosgrove comes and asks Freakazoid! if he wants to go to the mud bath's with him. Freakazoid! screams "Do I!?" and hops in the car to go get a mud bath. While there Cosgrove tells him he better go rescue Steff and Freakazoid! runs off half naked and half covered in mud, lol. He finds the Lobe and Steff and all his other villains. This leads to a very funny showdown with "Relax-O-Vision" cutting in almost every 30 seconds. Steff is rescued and she kisses Freakazoid! which causes the "Relax-O-Vision" to come on and this making Freakazoid! mad he beats up the Relax-O-Vision" guy.

Fatman and Boy Blubber is kinda funny and gross at the same time. It's an obvious parody of Batman and Robin(whose nickname is the Boy Wonder) and even has the "Na na na na na na na na Fatman!" song.

Limbo Lock-up is really funny. Freakazoid! is in cyberspace and he is acting totally idiotic(like hoping around and whooping like Daffy Duck does, and stretching his mouth out while making weird noises) he gets arrested by the idiot police who will arrest anyone who acts idiotic, lol. Freak has a choice to either spend 30 minutes listening to Fanboy talk or 30 days in jail. Freak takes the 30 days in jail only to find Fanboy inside the cell with him continueing his boring conversation.

Terror Palace is great because it's The Huntsman! He is a great side character on the show and I would have loved to see more of him(also Lord Bravery). Overall this was a great ep.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • The Lobe makes a balloon animal for a small boy. The animal he makes is a Diprotodon optatum. This was a large, prehistoric marsupial similer to the wombat. They were about the size of a hippo, and became extinct about 50,000 years ago.

  • QUOTES (4)

  • NOTES (4)

    • In the pre-credit scene, Steph is being attacked by 'The Booger Beast', a giant blob made of snot. Freakazoid shows up, but decides it's too disgusting to fight and leaves Steph to fend for herself.
      It's short and sweet.

    • The 'Relax-O-Vision' scenes that play in this episode are:

      Fish in a Tank,
      Rippling water,
A view of a beach and road,
      A cornfield in the wind,
A butterfly on a flower (appears twice),
      A field of cattle,
      A funfair,
      A tulip field,
      A carousel,
      A sunset,

Also, after the episode is finished, Freakazoid introduces a scene from a busy highway, that plays in 'Relax-O-Vision'.

    • Fatman and Boy Blubber are very fat parodies of Batman and Robin.

    • Ben Stein, in addition to providing the voice, appears to be the physical basis for H.A. Futterman as well.
