The geeks! They are so funny. And Bill is the best!
I find the freaks annoying at times.

The Geeks, that scene in Smooching and Mooching...I think that's close to what the episode is called (by the way the best episode of the series hands down) where Bill and Neil are going down to that party and stop at the door and Neil gets scared, that's so classic, and very true in my opinion.

The freaks are cool and more interesting, but if this was real life, my first impression of the freaks would've been wow...they're pretty cool (sarcasm) they're harder to like at first then the geeks are.

I prefered the Freaks, though the geeks were a funny group!

I preferred the freaks, but in real life I would have likely felt more at home with the geeks.

I think I became a bigger fan of Seth Rogen during the gap in time. I also kind of grew to dislike Sam a little bit. Not sure why...just don't like him as much anymore.

Ah, I think I know what you mean.

Seth Rogen is brilliant...it just takes some time to appreciate it fully!

I started to watch the show when it aired on ABC Family... I think I remember liking the geeks the best then, since I was around 14 or so? I forget how long since ABC Family aired the show. Anyway, I could relate to them more back then.

Actually thinking about it now though, I think it's still true that I still relate more to the geeks. I'm 3 years out of HS now, so I'm no longer thinking "well, geeks since I'm similar in age". I just think that they're overall more relatable characters. Unless you were a stoner, of course, but I can't imagine stoners as people who could appreciate how great this show was.

^ No I don't suppose that they would entirely appreciate it.

In terms of relatability, I would have to say...well, Lindsay(though no doubt there are loads of people who would say the same). Closer to pre-grandmother's death Lindsay, mind you, so I guess more geek than freak...but I don't know that I have enough of the right geek stuff to relate completely with Sam and his friends.

I've had friends who were freaks, but even though I hung out with them, I never quite fit in. They told me it was because I was just too good, lol.

My first post on this site. I watched about half of the episodes during the season it aired and was very impressed.

The other day I noticed the DVD's were available at my local video store. Over the last few evenings, I have watched the first three discs and can't wait to see the rest. The pilot episode was spectacular.

In high school, I was a "jock", but I find the Geeks more relatable personally, since, despite my success in sports, I was geek-like in my lack of success in the dating department.

Can I say both? There are characters from both groups that I absolutely love... Seth Rogen, Jason Segel (although Nick started to bother me near the end), and Bill and Neal. And I also really like both Lindsay and Sam... Er, I just like 'em all!

haha...I think that it's perfectly fine to like them all! Almost every character had a little bit of something relatable to him/her.

What makes a great show that has a cast of characters where you just love all of them, and the best of part is to just watch them interact with each other. Thats how I feel about F&G. As for the freaks and geeks...I think I'll be going with the latter.

^that said, was there any character in particular that you DIDN'T like?

I wasn't a big fan of Coach Fredericks (though I wouldn't NOT want him on the show...if you know what I mean)...nor did I like Mr. Schweiber.

There is a minor character I didn't care for; I don't even know what his name was.

He was at Lindsay's party and said Daniel probably bought cheap beer and kept the rest of the money. He was at the makeout party as well.

In the pilot, he was one of the guys sitting in the bleachers outside during gym class, laughing at (not with) Eli.

At the dance, he joked about how perfect of a couple Eli and Lindsay were while they were dancing. Kim responded by punching him, which he so richly deserved. What a jerk; she should have gone for the jaw.

Of course, all the characters can't be nice; that's what makes the show so realistic.
