Show Summary

Fred is a comedy television show, which aired on HBO in 1999. The show is written and directed by Fred Armisen, who also stars in the show, along with Josh Murphy. Fred is an interstitial series on HBO zone, which follows lead character Fred (Fred Armisen) as he breaks his way into formal events in New York City. Here he causes general mayhem and confusion among those in attendance. The show stars actor, comedian, musician, and popular SNL star, Fred Armisen, who plays himself in the show. Armisen, who was born in 1966 to a Venezuelan mother and a Japanese-German father, began his career as a drummer in the punk rock band "Trenchmouth," but soon after he made the move into acting and comedy, in the HBO television show Fred. Since then he has gone on to star in popular movies such as "Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy," and he has become a long-running cast member on the "Saturday Night Live Show." Fred provides an insight into the roots of Armisen's much loved comedy.
