Does Jason really have a fear of water?

Is Jason's weakness truely Water, becuase he never seemed to have a fear of Water until Freddy vs. Jason in Freddy's nightmare. Some people claim he is, yet Jason walks in and out of water without any sign of fear whatsoever, some people also say that he was only made to be afraid in Freddy's nightmare becuase it was Freddy's rules. So, is he or is he not afraid of Water?

No, that was just a stupid plot point that didn't even pay off whatsoever...I mean, they have Jason rising out of water at the end of the movie!!! Yeah, stupid writers...

He doesn't seem to have a problem with water except when tormented by Freddy. I'd say this is because Freddy was attacking the part of Jason's mind who was still a little kid (who drowned) and was afraid of water ('cause he drowned). That's how I explain Jason's fear of water in Freddy v.s Jason.

Freddy was messing with Jason's head. In the real world, Jason is not afraid of water. But in a Freddy Nightmare, Freddy uses water to represent his drowning to feed off his fear. Freddy was doing what he does best, tapping into your phobias and fears. So is he afraid of water? Subconsciousness I would say yes. He has the trauma of drowning still inside his mind. But that doesn't mean he's going to piss himself when he comes across water in the real world.
