  • Helen has to babysit and Alex helps her out.

This episode was ok but not particularly special. There were a few nice moments like in the park and in Alex's flat when he had the Polish decorators in but mostly the episode fell rather flat. Stephen and Dan were lonely and bored, it being a Saturday, so they invited everyone into the office under the pretext of having a Board meeting but really they were holding a party. I felt sorry for Alex when he felt so unhappy that his ex wife's new boyfriend might be taking over his role as father figure for his sons. Overall, a bit mediocre.moreless

    • Helen: That was weird.
      Alex: What did he say?
Helen: He said bring the baby to the Board meeting.
Alex: There's nothing weird about that. It's the 21st century. Stephen is an equal opportunities deviant.
Helen: Yes but it's Saturday. And he said get there at one for one thirty, no need to bring a bottle.

    • Stephen: (on the phone) It's very important, fruity. An emergency. Can't be arsed to go into it over the phone, I just need you, in the office for a Board meeting, as soon as possible.
Helen: Well that's going to be difficult. I've got a baby.
Stephen: Congratulations! I didn't even know you'd been knocked up.

    • Helen: So this is your old neighbourhood, then?
Alex: Yeah. Welcome to the scene of the crime. I pushed Tom's pram through these gates half an hour after me and Laura brought him home from the hospital. Over there, Billy told the whole One O'Clock Club to go fuck themselves. Now here I am, same piece of grass, stalking my kids' new stepfather. It's not great, is it?

    • Alex: Oh, blimey, she does need changing.
Helen: I can't. Really, truly, I get a bit nervous wiping my own arse, to be honest.

    • Helen: Alright there, Supernanny, don't be too hasty.

This is an allusion to the TV program Supernanny which has US and UK versions where a nanny helps parents tame unruly children.
