This show should have been really great. The cast is superb and yet the humour is simply not there. The writers rely on a stream of extreme swearing to make us laugh. Now I'm no prude and a bit of bad language doesn't really bother me but I don't think it takes the place of lots of funny gags and jokes in a comedy. After a very short while it all starts to get a bit boring. Stephen Mangan plays Alex very well, particularly when he's being reflective and Sharon Horgan and Anthongy Head are also good enough actors to do something a bit more challenging than this.
