  • A great example of a mildly entertaining comedy sitcom on Fox's sunday lineup.

While the storyline was a bit contrived, it led to some very funny situations that made me forget the actual chances of Dove hooking up with Nate's aunt. For example, Dove's line about him being ok with Nate dating his mom was comical and the confrontation between Dove and the ex-husband was hilarious. When Ambers bf started chanting "Jerry...Jerry...Jerry" I couldn't help but cracking up. As far Nates new job, it seems like it was just a way for him to meet a girl who by the way he shared a terribly long first day with... Only semi-good things that came out the resturaunt deal was Nates laughably bad austrailian acccent. Nates parents little sex-games were only midly entertaining and I hope they don't draw that joke out every episode. The whole episode showed alot of promise and I will conitnue to tune in.moreless
  • A good episode.

This episode was more funny and enjoyable than the pilot, which is to be expected since the pilot mostly just set up characters and storyline.

In "Up the Aunty", Nate gets a job working at an Austrailian-themed restuarant. Meanwhile, his parents try new sex fantasies to help their marriage.

Dove meets Nate's aunt at the restuarant and ends up pressuring Nate into going on a double date. Nate asks one of his co-workers. They go on a long and painful date, which is made twice as painful since Dove's date in Nate's aunt.

While this show may not be non-stop laughs, it's impossible for me not to like it. I find Nate to be relatable, and he and Amber are charming characters that are just really fun and entertaining to watch. I loved seeing Nate struggle to "speak Austrailian", that was extremely funny to me.moreless
  • This show has potential.

This is the only episode I've seen of the show thus far. I don't feel like I've seen enough to rate the show, but just going by this episode this is somewhat original though very wacky. I would much rather have Arrested Development on the air still, but this show is still better than the awful War at Home. It has a very quick shakey feel, which can almost feel like a flashback where everything feels rushed and spliced together, but it does get more content into the 20 minutes and it felt much longer than it should have, though pretty funny throughout.

The story is this main character guy gets a job at an Australian restaurant and then takes a coworker on a date that ends up disastrous.

I can't say I will watch this again, it just didn't have appeal, but if it's on I probably won't change the channel or turn it off.

In the end the show felt like the Fox answer to NBC's My Name is Earl. Both aren't all that great, buf if I had to choose I'd go with Earl.moreless
