It's Christmas in Dillon Texas. Matt Saracen returns from Chicago and is ready to propose to Julie and he does so at the Alamo Freeze. Julie thinks that Matt should ask her dad first before she can say yes. Luckily for Matt, Landry's back in town and he can go to him for advice. Landry helps him through it and gives Matt the confidence to go talk to Coach Taylor. Eric ends up laughing in his face and does not give them his blessing.
Tami is offered an amazing job in Philadelphia, but Eric is reluctant to move. This causes a lot of friction in their marriage. On the bus heading to state, Eric realizes it's Tami's turn to pursue her dreams and that he was being selfish. He tells the bus that being a part of the Lions has been the greatest experience of his life.
The Taylor's head to the mall. Julie brings Gracie Bell to visit Santa. Eric tells Tami that he has turned down his five-year contract to coach the Super Panthers to move to Philadelphia. She is ecstatic.
Billy and Tim rebuild their relationship and are getting towards a truce. Tyra is back in town - she has been doing very well in college. Her and Tim hook up. He tells her about his dream to build a house in a large plot of land, and they agree that their paths will cross in the future.
Coach Taylor pays a visit to Vince's father to personally hand him tickets to the state championships. At the game, Vince throws a pass and we arrive in Philadelphia. We see Coach Taylor wearing green, now coaching the Pioneers. We see Tami at her new school. We see Buddy coaching the Panthers, and we see Vince in blue. Luke leaves for the military and gives his championship ring to Becky for safe keeping. Tim and Billy seem to have come to an understanding at the end while the make a toast while building a home together.
