We started off the way a wrestling program should, with a wrestling match. Jeff Hardy and Shelton Benjamin had a decent match, which was given decent time, for the US Title. I did not like the DQ finish but this MVP/Jeff Hardy feud is starting to get exciting and I'm interested in their match at Summerslam.

The Michelle McCool/Maria vs. Maryse/Natalya match was absolutely awful. Maryse actually has a good, cocky heel persona, but unfortunately none of these four are any good in the ring. The Brian Kendrick vs. Scotty Goldman was a really good match, for the time it was given. If you've ever seen Spanky (Kendrick) or Colt Cabana (Goldman) on the indy scene before then you know they're both capable of classics. Seeing these two guys on primetime TV was really a great moment. Let's hope Goldman gets more opportunities in the future.

The Triple H vs. Kenny Dykstra was a squash, butI guess it accomplished its goal of hyping the Championship match at Summerslam.

The Big Show vs. Ryan Reddock match was pointless and didn't do anything to make Show looked stronger. Vladimir Koslov vs. Festus had some okay brawling, but there were a lot of sloppy moments. These two have some work to do before they become main eventers. The backstage promos really ruined the show though. Weak interviews from MVP and Triple H and the continuation of the awful Edge/Vickie Guerrero storyline. The wrestling was better than usual, but this stuff brought the show's rating down for me. Edge pushing Vickie around in a wheelchair was absolutely ridiculous.moreless
