Matt Hardy and Christian took on Curt Hawkins and Vance Archer. Christian Left Hardy and it became a handicap match that Hawkins and Archer won.

    - Below are live spoilers for this Friday's episode of SmackDown:

    Dark Match:

    * Alberto del Rio defeated JD Jordan (local jobber). Alberto cut a promo in Spanish. He got the the "what" chants. He said he will continue to speak his beautiful Spanish whether we like or not. He wrestles like a big man, but he's not that big. Will be future endeavor class of 2011. del rio won but I missed the finisher.

    SmackDown, Airing Friday:

Recap of Big Show vs Jack Swagger, and Kane kidnapping Swagger. Swagger has to have an alibi this week for where he was when Undertaker was attacked.

    * Kofi Kingston fought Cody Rhodes to an apparent no-contest. The match ended in an apparent no-contest as Kane interefered and chokeslammed both men. Kane promised a bloodbath tonight and blames Swagger. The Rhodes mirror effect is pretty cool live.

    * Rey Mysterio was interviewed. He said he cannot compete and will forfeit the title. Got a lot of cheers surprisingly. Then he said he is kidding and the ankle brace will give him the support he needs. Really bad promo.

    * Drew McIntyre defeated Christian with a double underhook DDT.

    * An Alberto Del Rio video airs. While he stands in his dining room with a beautiful ocean view behind him, he talks about his intelligence. Knowledge is power. He is the product of a superior education.

    * CM Punk stands in the ring and talks. Big Show interrupts and comes out with two ladders: A 12' and a 4' ladder. CM Punk is angry about being interrupted and after some conversation, Punk allows Big Show the opportunity to entertain the crowd, while Punk and the rest of the Straight Edge Society looks on from ringside.

Big Show demonstrates that a normal ladder won't work as he steps on the first rung and it snaps in two. He then reasons that he's really tall anyway, so he could get by with the smaller ladder. He sets it up, shrugs, and says "Nevermind."

Big Show then motions for the stage hands to bring out HIS LADDER! They come out with a huge, quadruple-reinforced ladder that looks like it can hold a circus elephant. Big Show says that no matter how many times he eats at Subway, he doubts he'll ever exceed this ladder's 2,000 lb weight limit.

Punk says he'd like to see Big Show do a 450 off the top of the ladder---his 450 lbs tumbling through the middle of the ring, through the arena floor, and into the center of the earth!

SES jumps Big Show from behind and Luke Gallows knocks him down with the four foot ladder. Punk mockingly climbs the HUGE ladder and looks at the Money in the Bank briefcase. The SES praises him until Big Show gets up and throws Gallows out of the ring.

(The Mystery Masked SES member) climbs the ladder with Punk to escape Big Show, and Punk pushes him off onto Big Show, who catches him and throws him onto Gallows on the arena floor!

Big Show then circles the ladder with punk on top of it. Punk has nowhere to go as Big Show climbs the ladder and puts Punk into the Cobra Clutch. Big Show then rips off CM Punk's Mask, exposing his bald, shaven head!

    - Chris Masters and Kelly Kelly defeated Trent Baretta and WWE Women's Champion Layla in a mixed tag match.

    - Dolph Ziggler defeated Matt Hardy with help from Vickie Guerrero.

    - Backstage: limo arrives. ??? hands swagger an envelope and after passing it off to a production assistant to rush to the production truck, they head to the ring.

In ring: Swagger introduces his father. They show the pictures of Swagger and his father working out, then holding a prize winning fish, then a chicken wing contest... KANE!!!

Kane doesn't believe him! Swagger tries to show more evidence, but Kane grabs Swagger for the chokeslam.

Swagger hits Kane with the microphone, then applies the ankle lock. Mysterio runs out and 619's Swagger to break the hold. Kane grabs BOTH Swagger and his dad for a chokeslam. Swagger slips out and Kane chokeslams Daddy Swagger while Jack watches on from ringside. Kane then tombstone piledrivered Swagger's Dad.

    Nodq wrote:
Smackdown begins as Kane starts out the show celebrating the title win. He recapped his MITB win and cashing in on Rey Mysterio. Kane said he did it for his brother the Undertaker and brought the title back to the dark side. He vowed to not rest until he finds his brother's culprit.

Jack Swagger vs. Rey Mysterio in a 2 out of 3 falls match to determine the No. 1 contender was announced.

    1. Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes defeated Christian and Matt Hardy. Christian and Hardy had the advantage most of the match. Christian dove to the outside on Rhodes and McIntyre. Rhodes took advantage for his team. He tagged in McIntyre, who had a field day with Christian.

Rhodes was tagged back on. Christian tagged in Hardy, who took out McIntyre. Hardy gave McIntyre a tornado DDT from the turnbuckle into a pin only for Rhodes to distract the referee from counting the pinfall. Rhodes and McIntyre ended up winning the match. After the match, Christian and Hardy shook hands. Katelyn said it was a "very, very good match."

Swagger was interviewed by Josh Matthews. He talked about how he will beat Mysterio and then go on to beat Kane at Summerslam.

A LayCool promo started as they boasted about their win against Kelly Kelly on Sunday. They gave each other best friend necklaces. Teddy Long walked up and told Layla that she will be defending her title against Tiffany next week.

    2. Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) defeated Kofi Kingston (w/Michael McGillicutty) in a non-title match. This was a pretty even match up. Both superstars scored some offensive moves throughout the bout. Michael McGillicutty got sent to the back due to Vickie Guerrero influencing the referee as Kofi was outside selling being thrown over the ropes.

Kofi reentered the ring as Ziggler continued to take advantage. As Ziggler went for a leg drop, Kofi rolled him into a pin for a 2 count. Kofi regains control only to be distracted by Vickie Guerrero. Ziggler puts Kofi in the sleeper for the win. After the match, Ziggler poses over Kofi with the Intercontinental Title. Dolph tries to leave with IC belt, but the ref wouldn't let him. Vickie comforted Dolph.

    3. Big Show defeated the SES Masked Man. Show unmasked him to prove once and for a that Joey Mercury is straight edge. Show put the mask on and then chokeslammed Mercury for the pin in a short match.

Mysterio cut a promo hyping the number one contenders match.

An Alberto Del Rio vignette aired.

    4. Rey Mysterio defeated Jack Swagger in a best of three falls match to become the No. 1 contender to the World Hvt. Championship. The match started as Swagger pushed Mysterio into the turnbuckle to take opening advantage of the match. There was a lot of back and forth action early. Swagger continued to work on Rey giving him a belly to back.

Swagger remained in control of the match. He took out Rey's knee on the turnbuckle. Swagger scored a lot of close two counts. He threw Rey into the ropes only for Rey to jump off the ropes onto swagger a two count. Rey went to setup the 619 on Swagger only to come short. Swagger put Rey into the ankle lock. Rey made it to the ropes. Swagger refused to let go and was disqualified,so Rey won the first fall.

Jack won second fall by making Rey tape out with the ankle lock. Short match. Rey went for the 619 and Jack caught him.

Swagger and Rey fought outside. Swagger threw Rey back inside the ring and continued on the offensive. Rey reverses the gut wrench powerbomb into a pinfall to get the pin and become number one contender for Kane's title.

Jack went after Rey after the bell. Kane ran down and took out Jack. Kane held up Rey's hand. Kane left the ring and then returned and went to chokeslam Rey, who turned it into the 619. Rey ran away.

The crew is setting up for Smackdown by placing a black carpet in the ring with a casket. Does this mean Undertaker is returning tonight?

Kane sat in the middle of the ring with the casket. A video recapped last week's show and Rey Mysterio becoming No. 1 contender. He said he sits by Undertaker everyday waiting for him to awake. He said he moved and opened his eyes for the first time yesterday. Kane said Undertaker also spoke. He said Taker could only say two words, which were the name of the person who attacked him.

Kane said anger went through his body when he heard the name. He said he couldn't believe that Rey Mysterio was the person who attacked his brother. He said Rey's name hangs in the air like a demon. He asked why Mysterio would do it.

Kane said beating Mysterio at SummerSlam won't be enough. He said Kane must pay for his sins and experience what Undertaker endured. He said he will stuff Kane inside the casket. The lights went out and Kane was still in the ring with the casket to close the segment...

It was announced that Mysterio would face Jack Swagger in a No DQ match...

    1. Christian defeated Drew McIntyre. McIntyre set up Christian for his finisher and had the arms hooked for the DDT, but Christian countered with a small package out of nowhere for the win.

Layla will defend the WWE Women's Championship against Tiffany later tonight...

Cody Rhodes delivered grooming tips. He was wearing an avocado face mask. He said he was bringing us one step closer to being dashing...

An Alberto Del Rio vignette aired...

Backstage, C.M. Punk asked the rest of the SES which one was going to let him down. He smelled Serena's breath and told her thanks for showing up sober. He complained about Joey Mercury losing his mask. He said none of them would be anything without him. He pleaded with them to actually do something and said they should pack their bags if they don't. Awesome heel promo from Punk...

    2. Big Show beat Luke Gallows by DQ. There was a funny spot where Show called for the ring announcer to put the mic next to Luke's chest before he chopped it. This was probably during the commercial break. In the end, the rest of SES jumped Show for the DQ. They continued to attack Show and did a spot with the ring steps that left Show lying. Punk removed his sling to show that his arm is fine.

    3. Kofi Kingston beat Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) by DQ. Vickie slapped Ziggler. Kofi flipped and was disqualified. Referees had to come out to restrain Kofi, who wouldn't stop attacking Ziggler...

Jack Swagger was interviewed backstage and said he wasn't in the mood for stupid questions. He said he's going to beat up Rey, break his arms, and throw him in the Gulf of Mexico...

Vickie Guerrero came out and announced that Michelle McCool would replace Layla in the match against Tiffany. Vickie had more heat than I've ever heard in my life. The match is still for the WWE Women's Championship.

    4. Michelle McCool (w/Layla) defeated Tiffany (w/Kelly Kelly) to retain the WWE Women's Championship. Layla interfered in the match, which set up McCool getting the win.

Afterward, Teddy Long came out and said there only needs to be one women's champion. He said they can decide for themselves or he will make the decision next week. McCool and Layla argued over the title belts...

    5. Rey Mysterio fought Jack Swagger to a no-contest in a No DQ match. They battled outside the building. Rey hit a huracanrana that caused Swagger to fall into the water. Rey turned around and Kane grabbed him by the throat and chokeslammed him into the water to end Smackdown.

Dark Match 1. Kane defeated Big Show in a cage match to retain the World Hvt. Championship. The cage is much smaller than the one they use for televised matches. Show pumped up the live crowd. The cage structure sucks. It's wobbly and maybe nine feet tall. Show got caught in the ropes and Kane won by walking out the door.

Rey's music hit and he came out and fought with Kane. They fought back inside the cage. Kane had Mysterio cornered, but Kane turned around and took a knockout punch from Show. Rey climbed onto Show's shoulders and hit a splash on Kane. Rey and Show celebrated while Kane headed backstage.

    Credit: Daniel Fröhling and Pwinsider.com

Dark Match: Dos Caras Jr. (Alberto Del Rio) defeated Chavo Guerrero

SmackDown!: Rey comes out and says he's true to his fans and starts speaking in Spanish a lot and pretty much kissing up to the fans and saying he didn't take out the undertaker. Then Drew McIntyre comes out and says asks how Rey could have done such a thing. Drew wants to take out Rey just like he took out Christian last week when he hurt his arm. He challenges Rey to a match later and Rey accepts.

    - Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship is announced for later tonight.

    - Cody Rhodes beat Matt Hardy with the crossroads

    - Backstage, Teddy is demanding that Laycool give up one of the belts, Michelle gives up hers after arguing with Layla but then they argue more and they end up breaking the other belt in half but they seem happy about it.

    - Kofi Kingston vs. Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship.
Vickie introduces Dolph Ziggler out: Ziggler becomes the NEW Intercontinental Champion after some interference from Vickie and then hitting the Zig Zag. Ziggler does a little celebration before Kofi goes bananas yet again and beats up Ziggler bad. Ziggler gets carried to the back.

    - The Straight Edge Society vs. Big Show is announced for Summerslam

    - Here comes the Straight Edge Society with Mercury, Gallows, Serena and Punk with his bald head. CM Punk shows footage from last week's beatdown on Big Show. the SES are proud of their handy work and punk asks his SES if they are happy and they say yes. He says don't be happy and to get on your knees and starts talking about that being happy makes them weak. He gives them a a little pep talk to get ready for their 6 man tag team match.

    - MVP, Chris Masters, JTG vs. SES. SES wins after Luke Gallows pins MVP.

    - They showed a video on the Ttitantron with Teddy talking with Jack Swagger. Swagger said it's Teddy's fault for what's going on with Kane and losing control. Teddy says he will not be in the triple threat match for the world title in the cage match later tonight and instead gives him the night off. I am not sure if this will be shown on TV, it looks like it was only for fans live since they mentioned the dark main event.

    - Main Event: Rey Mysterio vs. Drew McIntrye: Rey Mysterio defeats Drew McIntrye with a rollup win. After the match, out comes Kane. Drew tosses Rey to Kane. Kane has brought a casket to the ring. Rey manages to escape and Rey then says he didn't take out the Undertaker, it was KANE!. Kane is in the ring just standing for a very long time looking up above to the ceiling. It looks like he was crying or getting mad or something, he didn't say a word and that's how it ended.

Dot Net reader Edwin Fastnacht attended the WWE Smackdown taping on Tuesday in California and passed along the following report.

Rey Mysterio came out to a big pop to start off Smackdown. He started by thanking the fans for helping him through a difficult time and talked about how Kane accused a lot of innocent people, when it was Kane that took out Taker.

Alberto del Rio came out to interrupt. He talked about being from a rich and noble family while Rey was from the streets. Rey said that del Rio thought he was privileged to have respect but he had to earn respect in the WWE. Del Rio countered that if Rey didn't respect him, he would make Rey respect him. Del Rio got in Rey's face and Rey smacked him and hit a 619 on del Rio.

WWE picked the perfect time to debut del Rio with the large amount of Hispanic/Mexican attendees in the crowd. Del Rio had major heat, especially for a debuting superstar.

    1. Kofi Kingston defeated Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) via disqualification in an Intercontinental Championship match. Solid pop for Kofi, little reaction for Ziggler. Solid match between the two. Kofi hit the fulcrum kick on Ziggler and went up to the top rope. Vickie pushed Kofi off and the ref called for the bell. Kofi was going to chase Dolph but Vickie stood in his way. Kofi stared down Vickie and Dolph attacked from behind. Dolph threw Kofi into the barrier and back in the ring. He hit the Zig Zag, locked in a sleeper, and afterwards stomped on Kofi's head.

This is where the crowd started to become dead and only started popping for the big moments and main eventers. I've noticed in some of your site's coverage of Smackdown where you guys describe that the crowd is out of it and it could be due to the fact that the kids and their parents are tired (like it seemed to be in Bakersfield). Me and my brother started a "Let's go Ziggler" chant with just the two of us chanting while Ziggler had a rest hold on Kofi and got zero rebuttal from everyone else.

Backstage, Luke Gallows and Joey Mercury talked about Punk walking out on them at SummerSlam, and Serena said he was teaching them a lesson. Punk asked if they watched what Nexus did on Raw. He said same thing applies tonight, if they lose then they are out of the SES.

    2. Luke Gallows and Serena defeated Big Show and Kelly Kelly via pinfall. Big Show handled Gallows for a few seconds before Luke hurried to tag in Serena. Kelly hit the X-Factor on Serena but Luke came in to drag her off. Big Show took out Luke to ringside and beat on him. Serena hit a modified GTS gutbuster (instead of kneeing Kelly in the face, she dropped her on knee for a gutbuster) for the win. Punk came out to celebrate with SES at the top of the ring.

Kane came out to solid heat for his promo on the explanation of his actions. He delivered a good promo in line with what he has been doing for the last couple months. He said that his intentions were always to take out Taker but he had failed before and was waiting for the right moment. Kane talked about how Taker became soft after showing remorse to Michaels at Wrestlemania. He said that he was now the devil's favorite demon.

I'm not sure when this happened but I think it was after the Kane promo. Backstage, Jack Swagger was complaining to Rosa Mendes. MVP came into the segment and said that all Jack does now is whine. Swagger said that he was better than MVP in every way and would prove it by beating MVP in the Jack Swagger Sr. Invitational (named after his father). Swagger said that if he won, he would get to host the V.I.P Lounge. MVP agreed and said that if he won, Swagger would pick up the tab on his expensive end of summer party.

    3. Christian defeated Drew McIntyre via pinfall. Christian came out to a solid pop, while Drew got little to nothing. Dashing Cody Rhodes came out to join on commentary. Drew focused on Christian's injured arm for the majority of the match. Christian jumped from the top rope onto a standing McIntyre and hit a nice DDT. Both men tried for their finishers and Christian rolled McIntyre up for the quick 1-2-3. Cody got up and distracted Christian and McIntyre attacked from behind. Both beat down on Christian until Matt Hardy came out for the save. Matt hit the Side Effect on Cody but then Drew attacked Matt's ankle. Cody held Matt down while Drew stomped on the ankle. Drew hit the Future Shock DDT on Hardy and Cody hit CrossRhodes on Christian.

Backstage, Teddy Long explained to Kane that Taker would be on Smackdown next week and Kane said that there would be "hell on Earth."

    4. Alberto del Rio defeated Rey Mysterio via submission. Tony Chimel introduced Alberto del Rio's personal ring announcer, Jesus Gonzalez. Jesus introduced del Rio, who had a long entrance. Rey came out to a huge pop. Del Rio started working on Rey's arm from the beginning. A lot of 619 cheers throughout the match, the most the crowd was into Smackdown since the opening segment with these two. Rey hit his high-flying offense. He went to the top rope for another move but del Rio took him down. He applied his roll-through armbar submission for the win. It was an awkward end to the match as it seemed it should have gone on a few minutes longer and Mysterio tapped out fairly quickly. Jesus Gonzalez announced del Rio as the winner and del Rio went back to apply his armbar submission again. Del Rio posed at the top of the ramp to close the show.

    Dark Match

    1. Kane defeated Rey Mysterio and Jack Swagger via pinfall in a steel cage match for the World Heavyweight Championship. The cage was not the regular steel cage for main events (it looked sketchy). Swagger, Rey, and Kane came out to solid reactions. Swagger tested the cage and it looked like he could have shaken the cage down. Win can happen via pinfall, submission, or escape. Kane started on Rey while Swagger played avoidance. Swagger came into play when Rey gained the advantage. Rey played master of the crotch shots as he baseball slided into both opponents nether regions and when getting caught trying to escape knocked both men off to get crotched by the rope. In the end, Kane tossed Rey into the cage wall and hit a Chokeslam on Swagger to retain his title.

As Kane was celebrating, Taker's music hit to a huge pop from the crowd. "Yeah/Boo" reaction to Taker/Kane punches. Kane got Taker in a chokehold, but Taker countered with one of his own. Swagger hit Taker from behind and Kane ran out of the ring. Taker hit a Chokeslam and Tombstone Piledriver on Swagger before staring down Kane. Taker did his usual end of the match setup to a huge pop and sent the crowd home happy.

    Biggest Pops:
    1. Undertaker
    2. Rey Mysterio
    3. Big Show
    4. Kofi Kingston
    5. MVP (On Superstars)

    Biggest Heat:
    1. Alberto del Rio
    2. Kane
    3. Straight Edge Society
    4. Swagger (On Superstars)
    5. Cody Rhodes/Drew McIntyre (during beatdown)

Billy Krotchsen called in the following spoilers from the Smackdown/NXT taping in Albany, NY:

    Dark Match:

*John Morrison pinned Tyler Reks. No announcers out, so if this was for Superstars they will have to do announcing in post-production.

*The announcers make their way to ringside.

    WWE Superstars

    *Kofi Kingston pinned Chavo Guerrero.

    Smackdown:

*Smackdown opens up with the ring decorated in balloons, a pinata wearing a Rey mask hanging in the middle of the ring, red/white/green streamers, a table with champagne and servants with hor dourves. Alberto Del Rio comes out and talks about destroying Rey Mysterio. He takes a stick and hits the pinata. He says Rey is just like the pinata, a burro. Christian interrupts him and says he knows who he is, he's JBL - Juan Bradshaw Layfield. He says he's joking and knows he's Enrique Iglesias. Christian starts to sing 'Hero'. He tells Del Rio he saw what he did to his friend Rey and came out to confront him. Del Rio tells him to leave before he ends up like Rey. The two stare off but Del Rio tells him they'll meet another place and time. He leaves Christian in the ring, who is attacked by Drew McIntyre (Drew came through the crowd, he tried to jump the barricade but tripped and fell; that will be edited out). The two have a match which is now in progress....

    *Christian pinned Drew McIntyre.

*Michelle McCool pinned Kelly Kelly. Layla El was on commentary.

*WWE Intercontinental champion Dolph Ziggler pinned Chris Masters.

*The Big Show defeated CM Punk and Luke Gallows in a handicap match. Punk nailed Gallows with the GTS after the match.

*The VIP Lounge is the All American American Lounge since Jack Swagger gets to host, since he beat MVP last week. Swagger comes out with his father, who is still in a wheelchair from the injuries Kane caused several months back. Swagger Sr. said that he was proud of his son and wants him to do pushups for a minute. Swagger is doing them when MVP comes out. They argue back and forth and Swagger Sr. falls out of the wheelchair. MVP tosses Swagger out of the ring and nails Swagger Sr. with the Ballin' elbow.

*Cody Rhodes pinned Matt Hardy. Before the match, Rhodes made fun of Hardy's appearances and said if anyone needed a tire, Matt has a spare.

*WWE World champion Kane cut a promo on the Titantron, saying he would defend his title at the Night of Champions and destroy the Undertaker once and for all. The Druids come out with a coffin. Kane pops out and says he was always the "other brother" and the "afterthought" but now the roles are reversed and Undertaker is in his shadow. Kane says Taker is weak and Kane saw his weakness when he left Taker comatose. Kane says their saga is over. Taker will be no more and nothing will stop him from destroying Taker. The lights go out and when they return, Taker is in the ring. The lights go out again and when they return, Kane is gone. Undertaker goes to the coffin and opens it but there's nothing inside. Kane appears on the Tron and promises he is going to destroy the Undertaker at the Night of Champions.

Kane/Taker recap video to open, then usual SD open and pyro.

They announced Taker and Punk, and then the gong hit and Taker was in the ring, fire going off on stage. He talked about how he's had to protect Kane from others and himself, so he'll have no problem beating on him at the PPV. Taker says he still controls the power of the darkness. He said Kane will always remember his older, wiser, more evil brother would take his title back. Taker says no rules can contain them, and says the match must be no holds barred.

CM Punk comes out alone, clapping. He tells everyone to stand and give Taker a round of applause fitting his legendary status. Punk says after the PPV none of us will see Taker again. He enjoys watching Taker on his own downward spiral, seeing a broken down man who's had one too many fights and is delusional.

Taker says he sees his next victim. Punk says he doesn't hear the same panache in Taker's voice, saying he's facing Big Show at the PPV (for no title I guess?) Taker says Punk will rest in peace, and we break.

Jack Swagger vs. MVP - they showed a recap of last week's VIP Lounge. It looks like MVP added the triple German suplexes, but only got two before Swagger elbowed out. Swagger did an abdominal stretch on MVP through the ropes. MVP hit the Ballin elbow, but Swagger slipped away before the 305. MVP followed and Swagger kicked the steps into MVP's knee, leading to the ankle lock for the tap.

Laycool and Kaval in the back, arguing over who would face Melina, saying Vickie let either defend. Kaval said it was his first night on SD, and could the girls please chill? They heeled him a bit, saying he wouldn't be there if not for them.

Next is a history of Taker and Kane.

Tony Chimel announces Alberto del Rio's ring announcer, who announced Alberto.

Alberto del Rio (with Orton's old sparkler curtain) vs. Matt Hardy - Matt's back to camouflage pants and no singlet. Alberto hit Matt on the apron with a running enziguri that was real loud. Matt hit an inverted Twist of Fate, ending with an elbowdrop for two, followed by a moonsault for two. They fought up top, with Alberto dropping to the floor to hang Matt's gut. Ram to the post followed by a flip into the cross-armbreaker for the tap. Afterwards, Christian ran Alberto off. Long TV match.

Drew McIntyre vs. Kaval (who already has better music and video than Daniel Bryan) - Drew hit a nasty suplex on the floor, landing Kaval on the apron. Kaval with an enziguri from the top rope, but Drew rolled out before Warrior's Way. Kaval went for a rana from the apron but Drew essentially powerbomed Kaval. Back in the ring, Drew hit the Future Shock DDT for three. Laycool came out to check on Kaval, but were icky at his sweat. They helped him to the back.

DASHING Cody Rhodes with grooming tips - how facials are good for men, while wearing a green facial mask.

Vickie and Caitlyn came out...again. Vickie kept berating Caitlyn's promo work, then introduced Dolph Ziggler. Chavo (with short tights) also came out and the whole group came to the ring.

Dolph Ziggler and Chavo Guerrero vs. Kofi Kingston and Chris Masters - One of these things just doesn't belong. Beatdown on Masters until a hot tag. Kofi entered with a high springboard clothesline. Double clothesline spot. Dolph made a tag but the ref didn't see it and put Chavo out - weird to do to the heels of course. Kofi hit Trouble in Paradise on Dolph for the three count.

A lot of ring and stage setup, including Kane's pyro corners. Meantime Big Show on the tron, interviewing himself, with him playing Josh Matthews. Kelly told Show Josh was coming do Show hid the mic under his arm. Josh got his mikc back, a bit soiled.

CM Punk with Straight Edge Society, then he sends them to the back. Punk vs. Undertaker - Punk cut off the usual moves, but got chokeslammed for two. Taker went for the tombstone, but Punk slipped out and hit the GTS. Punk slow to cover, and Taker got the Hell's Gate for the tap.

Undertaker went to pose and Kane's pyro went off with his laughter filling the arena like Joker's laugh box from 1989's Batman. That's where Smackdown ends.

Dark: Undertaker vs. Kane for the World title - ends in a double countout. Kane continued the beating til Taker hit a chokeslam. Kane ran after that and the show ended with Taker posing.

Christian hosted The Peep Show with special guest Alberto Del Rio. Christian challenged Del Rio to a match at NOC. Del Rio declined.Christian slapped him, Del Rio again declined.

    1. Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre over The Hart Dynasty in a non-title match. Rhodes pinned David Hart Smith with the CrossRhodes. A good TV match. The Harts left with the gold, so they were likely setting up a match for Night of Champions, but no official announcement was made.

Kofi Kingston cut a promo on Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler. He said Ziggler is only the Intercontinental Champion because of Vickie. He ran through the Night of Champions stipulations for their match to establish that Dolph will lose the title if he is counted out or disqualified. Jack Swagger's music played. He was backstage with Dolph, Vickie, Chavo Guerrero, and Kaitlyn.

    2. Kofi Kingston defeated Jack Swagger. Swagger applied the ankle lock, but Kofi got to the ropes. Kofi blocked a Swagger Bomb and won with Trouble in Paradise. A nice, long television match.

They aired a repeat commercial that stated Kane will answer the Undertaker. He must be responding to Taker's promo from last week.

A recap of Teddy Long and Hornswoggle from two weeks ago was shown. Hornswoggle was shown at a Catholic school being taught to talk. Long sat in while a nun taught Horny the basics. Hornswoggle stole Long's notes, drawing praise from the nun. Horny's drawing was given to Long, which was a devil. Horny then framed Long with a paper airplane. When the nun went to slap Long's knuckles with a ruler, Horny indicated he did it. Horny stopped it and went bonkers. The nun said he needed an exorcism. As bad as it sounds.

    3. LayCool defeated Kelly Kelly and Rosa Mendes. Layla got the pin for her team. Steve says Chris Shore will love it (not really).

Laycool cut a promo with Kaval. They drew a name out of hat to determine Melina's opponent. Kaval drew McCool. Layla was pissed and Kaval revealed all the names said Michelle in the hat. It was rigged! Layla said McCool would be alone on Sunday.

    4. C.M. Punk pinned Christian. Alberto Del Rio sat in on commentary. Del Rio distracted Christian by taking the mic and saying "after reconsidering" (regarding the NOC challenge), Punk then hit the GTS and scored the pin. Del Rio said his answer was no and entered the ring with a chair. Big Show made the save, Del Rio bailed and Show knocked out Punk with the big right hand.

Kane cut a promo for NOC promising a different ending this time. Kane claimed to have Undertaker's powers and that he will end the plot he's had for 13 years. Kane said he wanted a no holds barred match and that on Sunday, Undertaker would rest in peace at the hands of the devils favorite.

Undertaker gong, flames and the Undertaker appeared to a big pop and standing ovation. The lights went out, Kane attacked taker from behind. The two brawled with Kane having the upper hand. Kane hit a chokeslam and tombstone. He then struck the Undertaker pose with the Kane in-ring pyro. The television show will end there.

    Dark Match

    1. Undertaker beat Kane via countout. Kane returned for the dark match main event. He did the ring intros while Taker recovered. Taker chokeslammed Kane, who later bailed, taking the countout loss.

Teddy Long started the show in the ring, no pyro. He announced a series of matches to determine Team Smackdown for Bragging Rights.

Undertaker was shown standing on the outside of the arena up on the edge of the Rose Garden. Paul Bearer will have a challenge for Taker tonight.

    1. Rey Mysterio defeated Cody Rhodes to earn a spot on Team Smackdown. Rey won with the 619 and springboard splash. Rey will join Big Show on Team Smackdown.

Big Show, Hornswoggle, and Kaval were involved in a backstage segment. Kaval wants on Team Smackdown. Show says he can join if he defeats him tonight.

Paul Bearer talked for a while, alluding to a buried alive match.

    2. Jack Swagger (w/Eagle) defeated MVP to earn a spot on Team Smackdown. Big Show sat in on commentary. Swagger won via tap out by ankle lock in a very short match. The Eagle was thrown into Michael Cole's lap.

Undertaker was shown outside up on the roof of the arena again as we go to commercial. WWE China footage was shown while pyro mats were laid out on the stage.

Big Show was still on commentary.

    3. Alberto Del Rio defeated Chris Masters to earn a spot on Team Smackdown. Del Rio won via tap out after the armbar.

    4. Edge defeated Dolph Ziggler to earn a sot on Team Smackdown. Edge picks up the win after spearing Ziggler as he came off the top rope. Big Show remained on commentary.

Undertaker was shown up on the roof again, overlooking the city of Portland.

    5. Kaval survived a five-minute challenge with Big Show to earn a spot on Team Smackdown. Kaval had to last five minutes to win the spot on Team Smackdown. Kaval survived the five minutes, but just barely, as he was up in chokeslam position as the timer ran out.

Tyler Recks came out while Kaval was still in the ring, and challenged him to a match to take his spot on Team Smackdown. Teddy Long said no, but Kaval accepted, so Teddy made it official.

    6. Tyler Reks defeated Kaval to take his spot on Team Smackdown. Reks dominated and won with a modified torture rack/FU type move and takes Kaval's spot on Team Smackdown.

Drew McIntyre comes to the ring. Dashing Cody teaches us how to maintain fingernails.

    7. Kofi Kingston defeated Drew McIntyre to win the final spot on Team Smackdown. Kingston won a short match after the Trouble in Paradise kick to become Team Smackdown as the final member.

Taker finally was off the roof and was shown in the backstage hallway with eerie purple lighting.

Kane and Paul Bearer came to the ring for a promo to talk about Undertaker's many failures. The crowd was booing big time. I could see many children scared and hiding behind their parents. I love it!

Kane mentioned the buried alive match. There was a BIG Undertaker chant. Taker's music hit. He came down for a face off with Kane. Paul freaked out and Taker went to town on Kane. Kane and Paul ran up the ramp, Taker got a surge of energy and columns of fire burst from the ring posts like Kane's pyro. Kane and Paul go up to the stage and Taker fired down lightning on them.

I think the show ended here, but Kane came back down with the urn and fought Taker for a couple minutes until he ran off, leaving Taker in the ring alone with the urn. Taker eventually posed with the urn and left. No street fight (as advertised), but a fun show.

WWE taped the October 22nd edition of Smackdown from the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Thanks to ProWrestling.net and reader Moustafa Mohsin for providing us with updates. Below are full results:

WWE SmackDown (Airing October 22, 2010) The starts with Team Raw and Team Smackdown in the ring with Teddy Long, who said he will let the superstars make the matches. Miz picked a six-man tag featuring himself, Zeke, and Sheamus vs. Big Show, Kofi Kingston, and Rey Mysterio.

Edge said he wanted C.M. Punk. John Morrison wanted Alberto Del Rio. Jack Swagger Swagger got booed and ended up taking Santino Marella. The crowd was popping big for Santino. Long made all the requested matches official.

    1. Big Show, Rey Mysterio, and Kofi Kingston defeated The Miz, Sheamus, and Ezekiel Jackson. Show chokeslammed Miz and had Rey jump off his shoulders for a splash to get the win.

    2. Jack Swagger beat Santino Marella. Halfway through the match, Hornswoggle came in to shoo off Swagger's Eagle mascot that was distracting Santinto. Santino managed to hit The Cobra on the bird. Swagger won the match via ankle lock.

    3. Alberto Del Rio defeated John Morrison.

Laycool came out. Layla was dressed as Natalya with Jim "The Anvil" Neidhart's beard, and McCool was dressed as Bret Hart. The crowd booed them. Natalya and Kelly Kelly came to a big pop.

    4. Natalya and Kelly Kelly defeated LayCool. For some reason the crowd chanted "Let's go Oilers, Calgary sucks" for the first bit. Anyway, Natalya won via Sharpshooter. A fan in a Rey Mysterio mask just went up the ramp and was escorted by security guards. He appeared to go after Natalya because it was right after her win.

    5. Randy Orton defeated Kane in a Champion vs. Champion match. Kane dominated most of the match. The ending was Kane going for a chokeslam, but the bell tolled and the lights went out. When the lights went on, there was no Undertaker, but Orton used the distraction to nail Kane with an RKO for the win.

After the match, Kane was freaking out outside and then the bell was heard again. Kane went back in the ring and Taker came out from the ring by making a hole through. Taker pulled Kane inside the hole. They got out brawled and Kane escaped. Taker posed and then threw the World Title belt in the hole in the ring where he came out of

The crew set up for the show by putting a podium and flowers in the ring for Undertaker's funeral.

The actual show started with Paul Bearer and Kane at Taker's gravesite. Kane said the saga is over and his brother is never coming back. He said Taker is gone and condemned to an eternity of agony, and he wants the fans to thank him for removing Taker and his false hope from their lives.

Kane said he is the heartbeat of everyone in the audience, and the devil's favorite demon. He said the time for mourning is now. He told the fans to bow their heads for a moment of silence for his brother.

Alberto Del Rio came out and interrupted Kane. He said it's a tragedy...that he never had a shot at the World Hvt. Championship. Del Rio said the only funeral we're going to have is for Kane's title. Del Rio attacked Kane. Rey Mysterio ran out, so Del Rio split. Mysterio hit the 619 on Paul Bearer. Kane threw Rey out of the ring. Kane turned around and was caught with a spear by Edge.

Del Rio told Teddy Long to make him the number one contender. Long said no, and booked a Triple Threat match between Del Rio, Mysterio, and Edge to determine the number one contender to the World Hvt. Championship.

    1. Daniel Bryan defeated Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero) in a champion vs. champion match. Vickie is dressed like a cougar and has a dog collar on. Ziggler jumped out to the early advantage. Bryan fired back with a series of punches and kicks, and then hit a clothesline.

Ziggler had the sleeper applied, but Bryan countered out of it and bumped the ref accidentally. Dolph hit the Zig Zag and had the three count, but the ref was out. Vickie tried to interfere. Dolph turned around and Bryan caught him with a kick that led to him getting victory...

Josh Matthews tried to interview Paul Bearer. Paul ranted until Kane came up behind them and stared at Josh until he left...
