I was curious on who people liked better, Ryan or Johnny?

Ooh Definitely Ryan! He's an original cast member! Plus he had such better chemistry with the group

I like Johnny but he kind of seemed a little slow to pick up with the pace. I dunno, the way they wrote Johnny was kind of an oaf and not all that quick.

Ryan was smart, interesting, and funny! I mean Jack was the wise one kind similiar to Giles.

And Micki was the glamazon! I love she kind of was the pretty one but tough and smart as well too. And Ryan! He's reminds me a lot of how Xander is on Buffy.

Anyhow that's my take on it! I just wish Sci-Fi would air it again!

I would have to say Ryan over Johnny. Ryan had better chemistry with other actors on the show. The show did taper off when Ryan left the show. I don't why he was morphed into a child, should just have had leave as an adult in my opinion.

you know it's not that Johnny or that Monarque was necessarily bad in the series, I just felt like he was a bit more green, so to speak. I mean he's got 2 seasons to compete with...and he kind of appeared once but then didn't really fit back in. I wish they had kept or rather brought him on earlier so we could get use to him. I think the tapering of the series definitely shows the impact of how important the onscreen chemistry was with everyone.

No contest.........RYAN!  I loved Ryan.  The show was not as good when Ryan left.  I loved the chemistry between Ryan, Micki, and Jack.

Oh definitely! Hehe, I think my first crush was on Ryan! LMAO.
So you know, I'm going to be bias. Plus, like it was mentioned before, the dynamic changed with Johnny. I wouldn't have minded it at all if Johnny seemed a bit more...well-read in paranormal. OR if they made him a bit more than the "muscle". I dunno, i really felt like they could have made him something better than being clueless.

Ever since F13th has been on Chiller, I've been watching it like CRAZY because of F13th BUT also because Tales from the Darkside. Did you know George A. Romero was producer for some of the Tales from the Darkside episodes?

Anyhow, they're at the tail-end of Season 3 right now with Johnny.

Looking at it now, years later, I remember EXACTLY why I didn't like Johnny. It wasn't that he wasn't like Ryan, it was because they made him act so dumb.

I mean in a lot of ways, they made Johnny more childish than Ryan. Sure, Ryan was a smart-alec but he had grasp of hindsight and some responsibility.

Like when Johnny used the coin to bring his dead father back or when he accidentally sold the cursed car radio?

I just don't think the writers planned him out so well. His presence always felt awkward.

I will admit, however, some of things he did reflected a lot more of the mistakes the average person would have made considering the temptations.

    Ryan by a mile!

I was disappointed they killed him off (I know they didn't KILL him kill him, but it's just as bad). Nothing topped the chemistry of the original trio. I used to watch this show every week when it was first-run and didn't miss very many if any. The first episode I saw was the Halloween party one.

Definitely Ryan. I still thought Johnny was cool though.
