Oooh interesting--that would mean I have to buy the whole series over again but it's worth it to see Friends in even more high-quality!

I know. It sucks that you have to buy the whole season over again. But this is one of those shows that is a must own on Blu-Ray. Especially since I watch the dvds over and over again.

Friends is one of the best comedies ever, but to buy it on blu ray... I don't know. I had the first 3 seasons on vhs, then the complete series on dvd. This is not one of those shows that needs to be seen in High-Def... but this of course is my humble opinion.

I doubt they have HD-material to make an Blu-Ray. Even the quality of the DVDs is awful.

i probably wouldnt bother buying it. For one, you have to buy a HD t.v, a BLU RAY player/or PS3 just to play them! Besides i dont think that Friends in BLU RAY will really be any different. IMO BLU RAY movies only look good if they are action/sci fi types.

Yeah, I agree with free_the_WM3. I wouldn't bother buying a new player to watch something that is very likely to be exactly the same as on DVD.

I agree with all of you. But the future is Blu. So if I had a Blu-Ray player I would eventually buy them, but I wouldn't go out and buy a Blu-Ray player and everything just for Friends! And if you watch Friends on TBS in HD the quality is AMAZING!

Would the Blu-Ray/HD stuff make Friends into a widescreen show? I know it wasn't filmed in widescreen but I've seen some shows that weren't filmed in widescreen actually broadcast in widescreen on TV ads where they show a montage of different shows

So my theory is that all film is in widescreen originally and they just cut it to 4:3 because thats what all TVs were back then.

But then again, I might be being stupid and showing that I have absolutely no frikkin idea what I'm talking about.

Bottom line is - I wouldn't buy the Blu-ray Friends unless it was in widescreen.
