    At the wedding reception, Rachel is not ready to admit to her pregnancy so Phoebe pretends that it is she who is pregnant. When Rachel avoids drinking champagne, however, Monica realizes that it is really Rachel. Chandler's mother brings a Broadway director as her date to the reception. Joey, recognizing an opportunity, makes a special toast as a showcase for his acting skills. Ross meets a beautiful colleague of Monica's, but has endless interference when trying to dance with her. Chandler has been taking dance lessons so as not to embarrass Monica during their first dance together as husband and wife, but the soles of his new shoes are so slippery, he has to sit it out. At the girls' urging, just to be sure that her test wasn't a false positive, Rachel takes the pregnancy test again.

    Rachel refuses to reveal the name of her baby's father until she tells him first. Joey produces a red sweater left behind by a gentleman caller Rachel had about a month earlier. Phoebe thinks she knows who it belongs to. Chandler can't locate the disposable cameras that he was in charge of, so he and Ross elect to put on their tuxes and retake all the pictures at someone else's wedding reception. Monica can't resist the temptation to open wedding presents before Chandler gets home.

    Chandler and Monica are off on their honeymoon as Rachel prepares to tell Ross that he's the father of her baby. Phoebe and Joey both need to get into Monica and Chandler's apartment, but neither of them has a key. They fake a gas leak to get Treeger to let them in. Meanwhile, much to Monica and Chandler's consternation, another newlywed couple, always one step ahead of them, keeps getting free stuff that Monica and Chandler do not. Rachel gets a sonogram, but is upset that she can't make out her baby in the image.

    Monica and Chandler return from their honeymoon with stories of a couple that they met on the flight back, but soon discover that the couple gave them a wrong number. Ross and Rachel disagree over who came onto whom when they hooked up. Ross says he can prove that it was Rachel and reveals that he captured the encounter on videotape.

    Phoebe begins dating a guy who works for Monica, causing a problem when Phoebe wants to dump him on the same day Monica plans to fire him. Ross discovers that a co-worker of Chandler's has been calling him Toby for five years. Chandler has learned to live with it, but it becomes a real problem when the guy wants to get transferred to Chandler's department. Joey sets Rachel up on a date with one of his co-stars from Days of Our Lives. It is a matter of concern to Ross, however, given that the guy could conceivably end up being his baby's stepfather. When Rachel's date dumps her because she's pregnant, she and Ross share a moment talking about their baby. The conversation gives Rachel some new hope for a relationship with Ross, but afterwards, in Central Perk, she sees that Ross has run into Mona, the girl he met at Monica and Chandler's reception.

    Monica and Chandler decide to throw a costumed Halloween party. Phoebe runs into Ursula, who is now engaged to be married, and invites her and her fiancé. Ross invites Mona to the party and he and Chandler end up arm-wrestling to prove their masculinity. Rachel, soon to be a parent herself, begs Monica to let her give out the candy to the trick-or-treating children. Phoebe breaks the news to Ursula's fiancé that Ursula is not all she claims to be.

    Chandler hires a maid whom Monica suspects of stealing her clothing. Eric has broken up with Ursula and is ready to date Phoebe, except for one problem: he can't look at her without seeing Ursula. Rachel is looking for an apartment so as not to burden Joey with the addition of a high-maintenance infant. Although Ross manages to get Rachel an apartment in his building, Joey has convinced her to stay, assuring her that the baby will be more than welcome.

    Rachel enlists Phoebe's help in breaking the news of her pregnancy to her father at dinner. When Chandler learns that Monica had a bachelorette party that included a stripper, Monica tries to make it up to him by throwing a belated bachelor party for him, including a stripper. The guy at the restaurant who recommends a girl to Monica, however, thought she wanted a hooker. Rachel's father, having learned that Ross is the father of her baby and is not going to marry her, shows up at Ross's apartment to give him a piece of his mind. Unfortunately, Mona is also there and learns of Rachel's pregnancy for the first time.

    Will, a formerly-fat high school friend of Monica's, is now thin, rich and gorgeous. Monica runs into him and invites him to Thanksgiving dinner. Rachel is understandably attracted to the guy, not realizing that he used to be a fat kid that she abused in high school. It turns out that Will and Ross had once formed "The I Hate Rachel Green Club" and had spread a rumor that she was a hermaphrodite. As it happens, Rachel had also spread a story that Ross slept with an elderly lady at the library. Meanwhile, Joey is committed to eating almost an entire turkey by himself.

    Chandler is peeved when Monica splurges on an expensive pair of boots. Phoebe learns Ross' and Sting's children attend the same school and she angles to meet the celebrity and get concert tickets. Joey's sister Dina expresses an interest in fashion to get Joey to introduce her to Rachel, but it turns out that it wasn't about fashion at all. What she really needed was the advice of an older single woman who is also pregnant.

    When Mona suggests that she and Ross send out a holiday card as a couple, Ross tells her he doesn't think they're "there yet". For Mona, it brings up the question of where their relationship is headed. Chandler's newly-divorced, obnoxious boss invites Chandler and Monica to dinner. When Monica refuses to attend, Chandler has to cover by pretending that he and Monica are splitting up. Meanwhile, Rachel, in her fourth month of pregnancy and with hormones raging, wants to sleep with just about every guy she sees. Phoebe does what she can, but Joey refuses to be of any help, whatsoever.

    Phoebe gets Monica and Chandler a Ms. Pacman arcade game as a belated wedding present which leads to some heavy competition between Monica, Phoebe, and, surprisingly, Chandler. Thanks to a professor's retirement Ross gets to teach an advanced class in paleontology, but it's on the other side of town so showing up on time poses a problem. Because of her pregnancy, Rachel can no longer date, so Joey takes her to dinner on a pretend date to make her feel better. The date, however, proves more meaningful to Joey than to Rachel.

    Monica turns Chandler on to the concept of a bath to relax, complete with scented oils and candles. Ross and Rachel toss baby names back and forth while deciding whether to learn the baby's sex. Joey has a major crush on Rachel, a fact that Monica, Chandler and Phoebe discover by a little detective work.

    Phoebe talks Monica into letting her give her a massage but becomes disconcerted when Monica seems to become sexually aroused by it. Joey dreams about being with Rachel and betraying Ross. Chandler realizes he's never seen what's in the closet by the bathroom, so tries desperately to unlock the door. Rachel feels her baby kick for the first time. Ross feels left out of all the baby "firsts", so Joey suggests it would make more sense for Rachel to go and live with him.

    Phoebe tries to cheer up a depressed Joey by lending him the world's happiest dog. Phoebe leaves a videotape of her friend giving birth for Monica to pass on to Rachel. When Chandler mistakes it for a porno tape, he is horrified when watching it. Monica's plans for a romantic Valentine's Day with Chandler are destroyed when she also watches the tape. Mona comes to Ross's to make him a romantic dinner and discovers that Rachel is now living with him.

    Ross is beside himself when learning that Joey is in love with Rachel. After discussing it, he comes around and convinces Joey to tell her how he feels. Joey does, but is crestfallen to discover that the feeling can never be mutual. Phoebe has met a guy she believes to be Monica's soul mate. They match perfectly in every way. Chandler is less than pleased about the whole development until Monica has a talk with him.

    Joey has been avoiding Rachel, embarrassed about his confession of love for her that got him shot down. Monica suggests that Rachel ask Joey for help with a problem she's having as a way of getting to talk with him again. The problem she invents is a doozy. In reading her own tea leaves, Phoebe is pleased to learn that she is about to meet the man of her dreams. The man she meets, however, is not exactly "dreamy". Ross has left his favorite shirt at Mona's, but is nervous about seeing her again. Using a key he knows she hides in a light fixture, he manages to enter her apartment while she's out on a date. Unfortunately, she returns with her date before he can leave. Phoebe goes to the drycleaners with Monica and meets an attractive man. Maybe the tea leaves were right.

    As the gang prepares to head for Massapequa and Jack and Judy Geller's 35th anniversary party, they're introduced to Phoebe's new boyfriend Parker, who is just a little too positive about most anything. At past anniversaries, Ross has always given the speech and it's never failed to reduce everyone to tears. This time, Monica has decided to do the honors, going to any length to create the sob-fest of all time. Ross and Rachel discover at the party that Jack and Judy have told all their friends that the soon-to-be parents are married. Ross and Rachel finally get onboard, finding it a creative--not to mention lucrative--opportunity.

    Joey is to be interviewed by Soap Opera Digest. His last interview was a disaster and got him fired, so he enlists the help of his friends to be there making sure he doesn't screw up again. During the interview, we see clips of Joey from past episodes that illuminate his answers. Questions cover topics such as his acting, what he does in his spare time, diet and exercise, his friends, his sexual orientation and his romantic life. The interview goes reasonably well until the very last question.

    The girls throw Rachel a baby shower, but Monica forgets to invite Rachel's mother until the very last minute. She then spends most of the party trying to get back in Mrs. Green's good graces. Meanwhile, Rachel is starting to worry that she may be ill-prepared for motherhood. Joey has a chance to host a new game show called "Bamboozle!", so enlists the help of Ross and Chandler to play a practice game.

    Monica's restaurant gets a bad review in the Post. She and Joey confront the critic who wrote it at The New School where he teaches a course on food criticism. While there, a cooking class is just starting and when the teacher praises Monica for answering a difficult cooking question, she decides to stay--Joey, too. Chandler is nervous about an interview for a better job, so Phoebe helps him prepare. Meanwhile, Rachel is freaking out because they don't have half the stuff they'll need for the baby. She and Ross go to a baby furniture store where Rachel must watch while the attractive young salesgirl flirts shamelessly with Ross.

    Joey's blockbuster movie is premiering, but he can only bring one guest. He chooses Chandler, since Chandler has contributed so much to his career. Unfortunately, Chandler chooses the premiere as a nice place to take a nap. Rachel's due date comes and goes and everyone is wondering when the baby will be born. Phoebe and Monica decide to make it interesting by placing bets; soon, Ross and Rachel join in. Rachel's doctor advises several home remedies for inducing labor; the most effective, in her experience, being sex.

    When Ross and Rachel arrive at the hospital, although they had asked for a private room, they are told there are only semi-private rooms available. As a result, they get to share the miracle of birth with a variety of annoying couples, all of whom come and go while Rachel is waiting for her own miracle to begin. Phoebe meets a handsome stranger. She'd like to visit him but doesn't have his room number. Joey, posing as "Dr. Drake Ramoray" gets the number, and still in that guise, elicits personal information from the guy for Phoebe. Ross's mother brings Ross his grandmother's engagement ring in the hopes that he will consider proposing to the girl who's about to have his baby. The rest of the gang, especially Phoebe and Joey, don't understand why he's resisting. In an environment filled with babies, Monica and Chandler are inspired to have one of their own. The problem is, they can't find a suitable location in which to conceive. Rachel's fifth and final annoying roommate/mother-to-be turns out to be Janice.

    Rachel, after seeing five other mothers come and go, is finally ready to deliver. After 21 hours of labor and despite the baby being breach, she finally gives birth to her little girl. Meanwhile, deceptions aside, Phoebe manages to bond with her new hospital guy. The gang all gathers to congratulate Rachel. Aunt Monica provides her new niece with a name, "Emma". Later, with no beds available, Chandler and Monica end up making out in a janitor's storage closet. Phoebe has a chat with Ross, pointing out that this is his chance to make all his dreams come true. Janice has a little chat with Rachel about how as a single mother, she's completely on her own. Afterwards, Joey reassures Rachel that she will never be alone. Then, when he's getting a tissue for her, Ross's engagement ring falls out of his jacket that was on a chair. When Joey turns to Rachel holding the ring, it seems like he's proposing. Rachel, following her disheartening chat with Janice, says yes.
