Friends Season 10 Episode 1

Not a very good season premier... although this show has a history of better season finales than season premiers anyway. But this one fell especially flat. The story lines are week, the jokes weren't up to par for this show, and there are a couple of things that were borderline ridiculous.





Monica's hair bit is one of the worst bits ever on this show. I mean, it's really bad, and not at all funny. It's almost embarrassing. Plus the wig they put on her is really bad.





I was on board with Joey and Rachel, but for some reason this episode prolongs the story too much and it turned me around on the subject. It's too bad, really. There was some really good material they could have worked with, but it just wasn't written well enough.

Já ouvia falar do seriado "Friends" há alguns anos, mas apenas no final de 2008 é que pude assistir e desde então não consegui mais deixar de acompanhar as histórias desse amigos e um texto muito inteligente com atores fantásticos! Gostaria que voltassem a gravar com a mesma qualidade de atuação e com o mesmo nível de humor. Pena que demorei tanto para descobrir esse seriado e agora não queria que tivessem fim. Assisti ao último com dor no coração e imaginando como seria uma continuação... Ou, quem sabe, outros novos seis amigos se reunindo nesse tempo de internet e amizades virtuais... rs

This episode continues from where the last episode left off. Joey and the new and sexy paleantologist, Charlie, have just broken up. Charlie then admits that she has had a secret crush on Ross and then he reveals that he feels the same way about her! Rachel has just admitted her secret love for Joey, but he decides not to make a move because he knows that Ross would never make a move on one of his ex girl freinds. But when Ross is seen doing the exact opposite of what Joey thinks, so he decides to make a move on Rachel. And so the episode begins...


Meanwhile, Monica is having a hard time with her hair issues, as it doesn't act well to humidity.


Joey and Rachel find it tough to tell Ross about there relationship and so he finds out in the worst way possible...

Great episode! Monica, Chandler and Phoebe discover that they can eavesdrop on Ross & Charlie and Joey & Rachel through the walls of the hotel. Both new couples decide to wait before proceeding with their relationships, until the men can talk to each other. Ross tells Joey on the plane ride back to New York, but Joey can't quite yet. Later, Ross walks in on Joey and Rachel kissing. Meanwhile, Monica combats her poofy hair by getting corn rows put in, and Phoebe discovers that Mike has a girlfriend.

Monica, Chandler and Phoebe discover that they can eavesdrop on Ross & Charlie and Joey & Rachel through the very thin walls of the hotel room. Both new couples decide to wait before proceeding with their relationships, until the men can talk to each other. Ross tells Joey on the plane ride back to New York, but Joey can't quite yet bear to tell ross. Later, Ross walks in on Joey and Rachel kissing. Meanwhile, Monica combats her poofy hair by getting corn rows put in and everybody hates them especially chandler, and Phoebe discovers that Mike has a girlfriend called precious and must break them up.

"Friends" is propably one of the funniest shows ever made. But in the end of season 9 it began to go down hill, which went even futher down hill in this: season 10, the worst season ever.





The thing that ruined it all was that the creaters tried to put Rachel and Joey together. Which is totally wrong, from a subjective point of view.


Rachel belongs to Ross, not that she is his property, but they belong together in a spiritual sense. Rachel does not belong to Joey, from a moral point of view. Ross was always the funny, nerdy but still the guy you felt deep compassion for. He was never popular with the ladies, but he succeded once in life: with Rachel. Otherwise he had only been VERY unlucky with women - with one Lesbian wife, and a second wife, where the marriage fell apart on the wedding-night. But then along came Rachel: the goddes, who everybody would want to date. And Ross gets her. Doesnt that give a sign of hope to humanity?





But then along came Joey and the break-up.





Joey was the cool guy, who had dated so many women through his life, the guy who always succeded, the guy who could get all the women he wanted to. Then some writer gets an idea: "Hey i have an idea, let us ruin the show, by having Rachel getting pregnant with Ross Child, but let Joey score Rachel, so that Ross once again gets his woman in life taken away from him, by another".





It just send the from message, that the creators tried to make Joey and Rachel date, it really did. Rachel was to Ross the only woman who had really loved him, she was the woman who he had always had a crush on. She bore his child. But then along comes the Casanova, the man who can have any woman he wants, and he chooses Ross´ one-and-only: Rachel. Ok, it did not turn out that way in the end, but that they even considered it, really ruined the show. Because the story-line did not follow the characters at all: the only reason why they did not make Joey and Rachel make a pair at the end of the show, was ONLY because the creators knew that Joey should have his own show: "Joey". And that just shows how half-hearted these 2 final seasons were: it was not a question of charaters in any parts of the final writting proces, it was just marketing. "Friends" only ran for 8 seasons, the final 2 seasons didnt happen.

This episode is one of the underrated bunch of seasons 9 and 10. Excellent start to the last season of Friends.





Monica, Chandler and Phoebe discover that they can eavesdrop on Ross & Charlie and Joey & Rachel through the walls of the hotel which leads to the hilarious Rachel/Joey/Ross imagination scene and Chandler's hair jokes towards Monica are priceless. Ross tells Joey on the plane ride back to New York about him and Charlie, but Joey can't quite yet. Later, Ross walks in on Joey and Rachel kissing leaving us with a cliffhanger...Meanwhile Phoebe funnily has to break up with Mike's girlfriend, Precious after their reconciliation.
