Who was the Episode MVP ?

  • Can't view the video

I don't know but can't view the episode. How to watch the epi?
  • Helen Baxendale appearance

I didn't want to post this under "Notes," because I'm not 100 percent certain. But I would be willing to bet that Helen Baxendale and David Schwimmer were not on the same stage in this episode. I think another woman played the back of Emily when she was in the same shot with Ross, and then the producers inserted a shot of Baxendale supposedly looking at Schwimmer, but filmed somewhere else. And now I am writing nonsense, because apparently this review needs to be at least 100 words long. More nonsense. More nonsense. More nonsense. More nonsense. More nonsense. More.moreless
  • The title pretty much explains it.

Well Ross does a series of mistakes in this episode, and we know now that Rachel is pretty much still in love with Ross. It is obvious to when Ross said that Rachel was JUST a friend. Rachel looked so sad! I liked how in this episode Monica & Chandler continue their relationship. They don't just forget about it, they actually stay together, which pretty much goes on for the rest of the season. Ross is such an idiot! He should of stayed with Rachel on the plane, Emily would of still hated him either way. I like the ending credits scene. "Does the pilot know the plane is moving!?" Very funny & developing episode.moreless
  • One of the best

This is a classic episode. To me this episode pretty much defines what this show is about. This is the type of episode that will hook you on this show once and for all. One of the best of the series, can be watched over and over and over and never gets boring. Hilariously funny and romantic, this episode will make you squeal with delight. Three words : Chandler & Monica. It doesn't get any better than that. Mondler have some of the best chemistry between any couple you will ever see and here is where it all begins. It is can't miss. Brilliant episode.moreless
  • In my opinion, this episode is just one great example of classic Friends.

This is definitely a classic episode of Friends. It marks the premiere of what many fans consider to be the best season of the show. This is the aftermath of the season four finale where Ross said Rachel’s name rather than Emily’s at the alter. Honestly, I am glad Ross and Emily’s relationship was ended so quickly and abruptly because I really didn’t like Emily. I’m not even a big Ross and Rachel fan, but Emily was just annoying. She does come back briefly in future episodes, but after this, she is pretty much over with. Also, we find out in this episode that Chandler and Monica really might be developing feelings for each other. Overall, this episode is just great to watch. Friends in its prime is as good as any sitcom ever. This episode is timeless and provides many laughs no matter how many times you have seen it.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (12)

    • Trivia: In the gag reel for Season 5 we see that Jennifer Aniston breaks up when Ross yells, "I don't care about the stupid band!". You can see, however, that they still used that take for the show, but cut away just at the point where Jennifer Aniston starts to laugh (it was probably the best take by David Schwimmer--Jennifer Aniston certainly thought so).

    • Goof: At the start when Ross is saying his vows, the reflection of the candle flames can be seen on Ross' suit shoulder.

    • Continuity: During the wedding ceremony, when the officiant hands Emily the ring to place on Ross's finger, in the shot where we can only see her face clearly, she appears to be shy and still pleased at the prospect of marrying Ross. Also, from the same angle, she seems pleased when the officiant finally pronounces them husband and wife. In all other shots, however, she is angry and upset as one might expect.

    • Factual Error: Rachel could not have used the airline ticket to Athens as it would have been in Emily's name, and a last-second change of passenger name at the gate would never be permitted under security regulations.

    • Goof: When Rachel enters the hotel room and stops when she sees Emily's parents, she stops just inside the door. When the camera angle changes, she's suddenly right beside Monica, who's helping her with the things she took from the cart, despite there not being time for her to move.

    • Continuity: At the reception Jack Geller says "Who serves steak when there's no place to sit? How are you supposed to eat this?" and Joey comes up eating steak in his hands. However in "The One With Ross's Wedding (Part 1)," Emily reveals that they are having chicken kiev (instead of chicken tarragon).

    • Continuity: In "The One with the Truth about London" Joey said that he only left one condom for Chandler, but in this episode it is revealed that they "did it" 7 times.

    • Trivia: This is the first episode in which Phoebe uses her Regina Phalange alias, which developed into a running joke throughout the rest of the series.

    • Goof: When Monica, Chandler, and Joey are flying back to New York, the display screen in front of their seats shows shows the plane indicating their position facing east, as though they are traveling towards London. They are supposed to be flying back to New York.

    • Goof: When Monica and Chandler are arranging to meet for a quickie, Chandler puts lots of food on his plate. Once he tosses his plate onto the table, most of the food is gone.

    • Goof: When Phoebe is talking to Emily's mother on the phone, the buildings outside Phoebe's window are moving slowly from side to side.

    • Goof: The man sitting behind Rachel to the left looks at the camera quite a bit at the end of the show as the plane takes off for Greece.

  • QUOTES (14)

    • Chandler: I'm still on London time, does that count?
      Monica: Oh, that counts.

    • Monica: I just wanted to tell you that uh, well, I was going through a really hard time in London, with my brother getting married and that guy thinking I was Ross' mother. (Chandler laughs) Well, anyway, I just-- That night meant a lot to me. I guess I'm tryin' to say thanks.
Chandler: Oh, you know that night meant a lot to me, too. And it wasn't 'cause I was in a bad place or anything it just meant a lot to me 'cause... you're really hot. (Monica laughs) Is that okay?
      Monica: That's okay.
      Chandler: And I'm cute, too.
      Monica: And you're cute, too.

    • Monica: So look umm, while we're st-still in London, I mean, we can keep doing it right?
Chandler: Well, I don't see that we have a choice.

    • Chandler: (Discussing the "not in New York" rule) I'm still on London time, does that count?
      Monica: Oh, that counts!
      Chandler: Oh, good!

    • Joey: (About Ross's wedding) Well. That went well. Yeah.
Chandler: It could have been worse. He could have shot her.

    • Mr. Waltham: (To Mrs. Waltham) You spend half your life in the bathroom, why do you never go out the bloody window?

    • Rachel: (To Ross) So you said my name. You only said it 'cause you saw me. I mean, if you'd seen a circus freak, you would have said, "I take thee, circus freak."

    • Joey: Hey, no matter what happens with Ross and Emily, we still get cake right?

    • Monica: (Monica and Chandler want to get rid of Ross so they can have sex) I say you should keep looking!
Chandler: Yeah, for about 30 minutes!
      Monica: Or 45!
Chandler: Wow, in 45 minutes you can find her twice!

    • Mr. Geller: Boy, bad time to say the wrong name, huh Ross?
      Ross: That's true, thanks dad.

    • Phoebe: (Facing Joey) You ate meat! (Facing Chandler and Monica) You had sex!
      Chandler: No we didn't!
Phoebe: I know you didn't. I was talking about Monica.

    • Judy Geller: (When Ross says the wrong name at the altar) This is worse than when he married the lesbian.

    • Phoebe: Uh, hello, this is Ross Geller's personal physician, Dr. Phalange.
      Mrs. Waltham: Who?
Phoebe: Yeah, I've discovered that Ross forgot to take his brain medicine. Uh, now without it, uh, in the brain of Ross, uh, women's names are interchangeable, through no fault of his own.
Mrs. Waltham: Oh my God, Phoebe!
Phoebe: No, not Phoebe, Dr. Phalange. Oh no! You have it too!

    • Monica: Oh, I don't know if I feel right about this.
Chandler: Monica, this is the honeymoon suite. The room expects sex.
