  • Joey dates Rachel but he wants more of it.

Great episode. Phoebe was so funny in it. Yelling and swearing because she was so clost to the score and then Ben walks in and Ross is holding his ears then Phoebe is like hi Ben. She was great in this episode! Joey takes Rachel on a date. At the end by the look of Joey he is developing a crush on Rachel. Ross has to like run across town just to get to one class. I wouldn't do it then.moreless

  • rachel and joey on a date

oh my god.. i love this episode. i think it's one of the best episodes ever. i'm a big fan of joey and rachel's relationship because i think that shows us a different joey. plus it was good to see once on a while rachel involved with someone besides ross.. .

i think the most beautiful scene was when joey went out to buy rachel lilies (her favourite flovers).. i think that was very sweet of him and very romantic.

i think that is such a wonderful episode because no-one would have seen that coming.. i mean who was thinking that joey could fall in love with anyone.. and expecially with rachel?!moreless

I'm still upset that they had to go anywhere with Joey & Rachel. They were good as FRIENDS, what this show is called, but then they had to make Joey develop feelings for Rachel. Regardless of how I feel of those two getting together, this was actually a good episode. All plots were pretty funny & entertaining. We got Rachel & Joey going on a fake date, which leads Joey in to having feelings for Rachel. The whole date was cute and funny, and we got to learn Rachel & Joey's "moves" which was always entertaining, so I really enjoyed that plot. The arcade game was absolutely hysterical. Although Chandler did annoy me a bit with his hand. "My hand is messed up!" Yeah Chandler, we get it. The best part about this episode was Phoebe. Phoebe yelling at the Ms. Pacman and cursing as Ben walked in was classic Phoebe and it was absolutely hilarious! Then we have Ross' plot which was also hysterical! Ross going around on his skates to get to a class that's across town was hilarious, and I hope they do more Ross plots alone. It's definitely better without Mona around. A good episode.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (12)

    • Goof: When Monica and Chandler are entering the apartment, Chandler has the grocery bags in his left hand. When the shot changes the bags are suddenly over his shoulder. When the shot changes again he has bags in both hands.

    • Continuity: After this episode, the Ms. Pacman game is never seen again. It was suggested that they put it in the guest bedroom, yet it is never seen in there.

    • Factual Error: NYU does not use bells to start or end classes.

    • Goof: When Joey and Rachel go out on a date and Rachel leaves to go to the bathroom, she turns left by the bathrooms. When Joey is on a date the next night, they are at the same restaurant. When his date leaves to go to the bathroom, she turns right instead of left.

    • Goof: When Ross arrives at his class a lot late, he throws his jacket and it lands on the floor. When the camera angle changes, his jacket is on the coat rack.

    • Magna Doodle: A drawing of the sun and moon

    • Goof: When Ross enters his first advanced class, a microphone is visible at the top of the screen.

    • Goof: When Chandler shows Monica his "claw" from playing the Ms. Pacman game so much, you will notice during the scene that he doesn't hold his hand in the claw shape the whole time.

    • Continuity: In "The One with Ross's Denial", Chandler and Monica fought over what to do with Rachel's old room. Monica wanted a beautiful guest bedroom and wouldn't even consider Chandler's idea of turning it into a game room and putting in old arcade games like Ms. Pacman. But in this episode Monica is incredibly excited about the present and immediately suggests putting it in the guest bedroom.

    • Factual Error: The Ms. Pacman arcade consoles did not have a primitive ROM chip, and lost the high score when unplugged.

    • Factual Error: When the Ms. Pacman game is first plugged in, it goes through a lengthy self-test. It does not play the theme song. The theme song only plays when a new game is started.

    • Factual Error: The Ms. Pacman game only kept track of one high score, and did not allow the player to enter initials.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Rachel: Thank God you're home! I'm watching Cujo!
      Joey: Alone?
Rachel: Yes, what is wrong with this dog?
Joey: Hey, did you get to the part where they're trapped in the car and Cujo's throwing himself at the windshield?
Rachel: No, seriously what's wrong with the dog?! Wait a minute, what are you doing home so early? What happened to your date?
Joey: Oh, it... didn't work out.
Rachel: Oh. Wanna watch the rest of the movie with me?
Joey: Oh uh, okay. (Moves a stool next to the chair she's sitting in)
Rachel: You know I never thought I'd say this about a movie, but I really hope this dog dies. (Notices him on the stool) What are you doing over there? Come sit here, you'll protect me.
Joey : Oh uh, sure, why not. (Sits down in the chair with Rachel, she turns the movie back on)
Rachel: There he is, there's Cujo!
Joey: Don't worry, it's gonna be okay.
Rachel: Oh my god, what's he gonna do now? I can't watch! (Pulls Joey closer to her) Seriously, how can you watch this? Aren't you scared?
Joey: Terrified. (Wraps his arms around her tightly)

    • Joey: Tell me one of your moves.
Rachel: Alright. So where'd you grow up?
Joey: That's your move? Boy Rach, you're lucky you're hot.

    • Monica: (About the initials on the Ms. Pacman machine) Hey wait a minute, this one isn't dirty.
Chandler: It is when you put it together with that one.
Monica: Ah, well if you don't clear this off, you won't be getting one of those from me.

    • Joey: Oh come on! Just pick one! Between Monica, Phoebe, Chandler, and Ross if you had to, if you had to, who would you punch?
Rachel: No one! They are my friends, I wouldn't punch any of them.
      Joey: Chandler?
Rachel: Yeah, but I don't know why.

    • Chandler: Come on, by age seven kids have already seen orgies. (Silence) Was it just me?

    • Phoebe: (Looking at the scores) Chandler sucks, he couldn't have gotten this good.
Chandler: I did, (Looks at his hand) but it came at a price.

    • Monica: Chandler, Phoebe's hogging the game.
Chandler: Who cares? It's a stupid game.
Monica: You only think it's stupid because you suck at it.
Chandler: I don't suck, it sucks, you suck.

    • Rachel: You were 50 minutes late to the class? What'd you do, crawl there?
Ross: No, I ran! It's really far! And when did people stop understanding the phrase, "Get the hell out of my way"?

    • Chandler: You are not gonna believe what I did today.
Monica: Well, clearly you didn't shower or shave.
Chandler: I got good. I played this game all day and now I rule. They should change the name to Ms. Chandler. (Pause) Although, I hope they don't.
