This episode, though improbable and unoriginal, was nicely produced.
There's nothing new about falling in love with someone, where a friendship has progressed so far that a relationship becomes awkward. There's nothing new about an episode where the primary plot is the awkwardness of putting years of friendship at stake by attempting to act on the feelings of love.
And there's certainly nothing new about a woman attempting to rush a man the first time he approaches her.
He tells her at a restaurant, at a table with an improbably nosey waiter. The totality of that scene - the high moments and the absurdum alike - results in a highly memorable scene.
