This episode was sort of wierd, but I guess I can see Rachel going at any length to save her job, including smoking. I guess that is what out of character this is. I like how Chandler's Needs for smoking come back, reminds me of season one, the good old days. Phoebe taking Rachel's surprise party to a whole new level was hilarious, that shows Monica who's boss. The sad & dry part of the episode is the audition plot. I never really like audition plots, especially when Joey makes such a big deal about it which makes his character sort of boring.
Phoebe and Monica want to plan a suprise party for Rachel together(even though Chandler's birthday is before hers but of course everyone forgets that). But Monica takes care of everything so she puts Phoebe in charge of cups and ice. But you don't mess with Pheebs and the ending with all the cups was seriously funny.
Rachel is really bummed that her boss and coworker make all the decisions without her because she doesn't smoke. So she starts to smoke.
Ben gets an audition as a kid eating soup and Joey comes with him and tries to get an audition as the father. But he and Ross argue when he has to go up against Ben. This was a funny episode. The best thing was Phoebe's cups thing. Classic Phoebe.
Rachel decides to start smoking in order to avoid missing important meetings with her boss who smokes with smokey mcgee and would then miss an important promotion for not smoking. so she starts to smoke and then makes them all quit but they dont, she does and she will get fired if she smokes again to get her to stop. Meanwhile, Ben gets offered an audition for a soup commercial, and Joey auditions to be Ben's father during the ad but he couldnt be his dad because they looked nothing alike so he tries to sabotage ben so he can win and he subconciously ruined his own audition so ben could get thrugh, but in the end noone got through anyway which is weird..
A great episode, with a really interessting storyline and a good and funny cast. And like all episodes it has it's great wave in the storyline and a good cliff hanger at the end. Good episode! I think the planning Rachel's birthday a month ahead was too long. It should of been like a week or two. It's not that hard to say yum soup and he kept saying yum noodle soup. It's not that hard! It would of been cool if he got the part with Ben. Rachel smokes...WOW! And Chandler likes the smell! I don't like the smell but it's not like I am going to choke. What ever happened to that guy she kissed when she had her interviewer? Rachel keeps changing jobs. First she was a waiter at central perk then at that place where her boss liked Chandler, then that place where she met Joshua and now this place.
Rachel is tired of being left out of the "meetings" with her boss and a couple of other employees when they go outside to take a smoke break. They seem to make all of their important decisions out there and Rachel is just getting passed up. She decides to start smoking herself so that she can fit in and get involved with those decisions made in her clean-aired absences. When she finds it rather unpleasant, she tells the others that they should just give up smoking. They all vow to quit and thus solves Rachel's problem...or so she thought. Rachel caught them all smoking again the next day and they made her go inside so she wouldn't fall off the wagon, leaving Rachel right back where she started.
This episode is really cool, Rachel begins to smokes when she discovers that her boss and mate make all important decisions while they are down there smoking, and later she ends up giving up on it, with her friends, and ends up with nothing. Chandler begins to remember his glorious days when he smoked. Ross and Joey compete into Ben's audition when they discover that they are playing in opposite roles, and Monica hurts Phoebe's feelings when she says that she can take care of the cups and ice, and ends up beating her. It was a really cool episode!
