    "I don't see it!"

Definitely a funny Friends episode this week. There's one thing Rachel needs to do, and that's tell Ross she's pregnant, and he's the father. His reaction was hysterical, blaming the condom company was such a classic Ross reaction. I thin what made this episode special was the sonogram at the end. Managed to have an emotional scene with some laughs along the way. Rachel not being able to see her baby on the sonogram was so relatable, it was hilarious. Joey & Phoebe have been getting their plots together since Monica & Chandler are off being newlyweds and Ross & Rachel are dealing with the pregnancy. I would have to say, it's for the better. The interaction between Joey & Phoebe is hysterical. Monica & Chandler's relationship continues to be exaggerated. Sure it's funny, but it's just not how they were. Monica being demanding and undermining Chandler. While Chandler just takes it, sure that's one of Monica's qualities but they just manage to over-exaggerate it, which gets annoying. A great episode with some emotional and hysterical scenes, definitely eventful!moreless

Joey and Phoebe scheme to get inside the newlyweds' apartment after discovering that they don't have a key and end up breaking down the door,, but lie to monica saying they smelt gas. and then they accidently break a chair recreating trying to break doen the door for a worried monica. Monica and Chandler become jealous of another honeymooning couple who get bumped to first class on the airplane and then the honeymoon suite in the hotel at no extra cost.moreless
  • Rachel finally tells...

Great episode! Rachel finally tells Ross who freaks out. He just sat there for awile. Was he like that when Carol was pregnant. Ross and Joey are so funny about the the 97% of the time the condoms work! Monica and Chandler have a weird honeymoon! Very funny with breaking the door!
  • This is one of the very best and classic Friends, without a doubt. Chandler and Monica's part is just classic. The weird couple who's not the typical lovey-dovey. Even better then the original episode (where they're stuck for interrogation).moreless

Ross and Rachel... Wow, he just reacted to her pregnancy announcement exactly like I would have expected him. This reminds me of the episode where Carol announced her pregnancy too. So funny, so well written and played!

Joey and Phoebe's part was the least important or funny, but still good. It fits alot better with the original story (Monica and Chandler at the airport) but still not bad. One of the very very best parts of Friends. A classic.moreless
  • ..and Ross finds out.

In this episode, Rachel finally decides to tell Ross that she is pregnant. Chandler and Monica are off on their honeymoon. Phoebe and Joey are trying to get in Monica\'s apartment.

Ross\'s reaction after hearing that Rachel was pregnant is a classic, with him complaining that \"he might as well have forgotten about the condoms\".

Chandler and Monica are off on their honeymoon, and there is a couple ahead of them, also in their honeymoon, who is taking all the free stuff. I didn\'t like this storyline that much.

Phoebe and Joey try to get into Monica\'s apartment, but end up having to destroy the door after telling Treager there was a gas leak.

All in all, this was a great episode, especially for Ross and Rachel. The episode would\'ve been much better if the original Chandler and Monica storyline was used and if Joey and Phoebe had a better story. I laughed hard when Joey heard about condoms working 97% of the time and pulling out a long pack of condoms from his packet.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (9)

    • When Rachel runs out of Ross' apartment when he is on the phone with the condom company, she grabs her purse but forgets her magazine.

    • Continuity: Joey and Phoebe complain about the fact that Monica and Chandler took away their keys. However, in the series finale the all six friends give their keys back.

    • Continuity: Ross says he'll be there for everything, including helping out when baby-proofing the apartment. However, in "The One with the Boob Job" Rachel baby-proofs the apartment herself. (Although she calls a handyman, not Ross, to help eventually.)

    • Goof: When Joey calls Monica and Chandler on their honeymoon, the water bottle on the table keeps moving in between shots. Also, the bowl on the table keeps changing from empty to full.

    • Goof: After Rachel tells Ross she is pregnant and there is no pressure on him, Ross's hand goes from on his chin to in his lap between shots.

    • Goof: When Chandler and Monica are trying to sneak into the first class lounge, Monica has a green bag on her shoulder. When the camera angle changes, it is in her hand and then on her shoulder again.

    • Continuity: In the doctor's office, Ross says that Rachel can't even eat by herself, and Rachel can't think of a time when she has. But in "The One Where Chandler Crosses the Line" she did go out to dinner by herself, even though this storyline was cut out when the episode aired. It can be seen in the extended version on the DVD.

    • Magna Doodle: A drawing of King Kong on the Empire State Building

    • Goof: At the start of the episode when Chandler goes into the bedroom to get his bathers, he comes out a few minutes later and you notice that his hair is a lot shorter.

  • QUOTES (14)

    • Monica: Everyone gives you special treatment because you're on your honeymoon! The first class tickets, the honeymoon suite! No one cares that we're on our honeymoon!
Woman: You can have the suite if you want. We don't need the stuff.
Man: We just wanna be together and celebrate our love for each other.
Chandler: Aww. We really need the stuff.

    • Joey: Monica and Chandler are married. Ross and Rachel are having a baby. Maybe you and I should do something.
Phoebe: All in good time, my love. All in good time.

    • (Deleted Scene)
Chandler: (In the airport security holding room) Look, this is ridiculous. I was just making a joke. I mean, I know the sign says "No jokes about bombs" but shouldn't the sign really say "No bombs?!" I mean, isn't that the guy we really have to worry about here, the guy with the bombs? Not the guy who jokes about his bombs. Not that I have bombs, but if I did, I probably wouldn't joke about them. I'd probably want to keep that rather quiet!... I'm sorry. You had some questions for me?
Security Guard: Miss, what is your association with this man?
      Monica: Uh, he's my husband.
      Security Guard: I see.
Monica: Oh, but, but, but only for a few days. I mean, I don't know what he does when he's outside the house.
Chandler: Thank you darling. (To the guards) you see, this is the first time we're traveling my way, so it's very important that we make this flight. See, it's one of those her plan versus my plan kind of thing.
Security Guard: What do you mean by plan?
Chandler: You really should just ask me yes or no questions.

    • (Deleted Scene)
      Chandler: Compromise works.
Monica: My name is Mrs. Bing. Haven't I compromised enough?

    • Dr. Long: Am I interrupting?
Rachel: Oh no Dr. Long, please come in. This is Ross, he is the father.
Ross: But not the husband, because evidently she can do this alone.

    • Ross: But hey, in my defense I just found out condoms are like only 97% effective.
      Joey: What?!
Ross: I gotta go find her.
Joey: Whoa! Hey! Whoa! Hold up! Are you serious?! So like 3% of the time they don't even work?! Huh? They should put that on the box!

    • Rachel: Okay, ya know what? Can I, can I talk now?
      Ross: Oh sure.
Rachel: I'm pregnant. (Ross freezes) Ross? Ross? (Ross is still frozen) Okay, whenever you're ready. (Sits back and opens her magazine) And you're the father by the way, but you got that...

    • Ross: Rachel's pregnant.
      (Phoebe and Joey in unison)
      Phoebe: Holy mother of god!
Joey: Oh my God, I can't believe it!
      Ross: ...With my child.
Phoebe: That is brand new information!
Ross: You already know, don't you?
      Phoebe: Little bit.

    • Monica: No, you have been screwing us all day!
      Man: Who are you?
Chandler: We're you! Just ten seconds later!

    • Rachel: But you know, condoms only work like 97% of the time.
Ross: What? What? They should put that on the box!
      Rachel: They do!
Ross: No they, don't! (Checks box) Well, they should put it in huge, block letters!
Rachel: C'mon Ross, let's just forget about the condoms.
Ross: Well, I might as well have!

    • Joey: (About Rachel) What did you say to her?
Ross: Nothing, but the complaint department at the condom company got an earful.

    • Rachel: What, married?
Ross: Well, yeah, I think we should get married!
Rachel: What, because that's your answer to everything?

    • Ross: If you can't eat by yourself, how do you expect to have a baby by yourself?
Rachel: I can eat by myself!
      Ross: When have you ever?
Rachel: When certain people leave the table and I am not finished!
Ross: Well, certain other people take two hours to eat a bowl of soup!
Rachel: Oh please, you inhale your food!
Ross: I grew up with Monica. If you didn't eat fast, you didn't eat!

    • Monica: Quick! Act like we're on our honeymoon!
Chandler: We are on our honeymoon!

  • NOTES (7)

    • The door that the fireman breaks down is just a prop. If the original door had been used for that scene, the iconic picture frame around the interior peephole would have been destroyed by the fireman's axe. In the following episode, "The One with the Videotape", you can see that it's true -- even the interior door paint matches perfectly with the walls, something that would be impossible with a newly-painted door.

    • This episode runs 22:18 on DVD (a typical sitcom runs about 22:00).

    • Monica and Chandler's subplot, as originally scripted and filmed, featured the couple unable to board the airplane after Chandler mentioned the word "bomb" in the airport. This was rewritten and re-shot in the wake of the 9/11/01 terrorist attacks. The only scene remaining from the original version is the teaser, where Monica and Chandler prepare to leave. Please click here to watch this long-lost scene.

    • Mr. Treeger: Namaste.
      Ross: Namaste.

"Namaste" is a personal greeting that originated in the Indian and Nepali cultures, which is now commonly used by those who practice yoga or spiritual meditation. This greeting between Ross and Mr. Treeger alludes to the yoga class they take together.

    • Chandler: (Singing) Bermuda, Bahama, come on pretty mama.

Chandler was singing "Kokomo" by the The Beach Boys.
