  • Trivia

    • Continuity: When Ross asks how his hair looks, Monica tells him it hasn't moved since 1996. Actually, that's not true. Following his breakup with Emily and subsequent eviction earlier this season in "The One Where Ross Movies In", his hair was particularly bushy and windblown. Chandler even joked about it.

    • Goof: After Joey goes into the hall in his fake Law & Order video, the recording ends and we see a previous recording of Chandler singing "Space Oddity". You have to wonder who stopped the video camera since everyone other than Joey was in Monica's apartment.

    • Goof: When Joey and his grandmother enter the apartment they come from the left yet the staircase is to the right.

    • Trivia: We learn in this episode that Phoebe is trilingual. She can speak English, French, and Italian.

    • Continuity: In this episode, Phoebe can speak fluent Italian. However, in "The One with the Blackout" she can't understand what Paolo is saying.

    • Factual Error: Ross says that methane smells, however, methane is odorless. An artificial smell using either methanethiol or ethanethiol is sometimes added so that possible leaks or an unlit stove burner will be noticeable.

    • Continuity: In this episode, Joey can speak some conversational Italian, however, in "The One with Chandler in a Box", Chandler says Joey only knows the bad Italian words.

    • Trivia: Here are the translations for the Italian lines:
Joey: Sono il numero uno, vero nonna?
Translation: I'm number one, right Grandma?
Phoebe: Vuole qualcosa da bere, signora?
Translation: Would you like something to drink, ma'am?

    • Trivia: The Law & Order scenes that are shown throughout this episode are taken from the Season 9 episode, "Agony".

    • Magna Doodle: A drawing of New York at night

    • Goof: When there is a closeup of Law & Order on the television, the living room is clearly reflected in the screen. Although the group is sitting on the couch watching the show, the reflection on the TV shows that the room is empty.

  • Quotes

    • Rachel: (to Ross about his interest in the pizza delivery girl) Ross! We broke up two years ago... you've been married since then... I think it's okay that we see other people.

    • Monica: So, when I was in the shower, I was thinking about our first night in London...
Chandler: (cautioning) Oh... Joey's grandmother is right there...
Monica: Is that the one who speaks English or the one that doesn't?
      Chandler: The one who doesn't.
Monica: (playfully) That was some hot love you gave me!

    • Phoebe: (about the earrings Rachel borrowed from her) Wait, Rach', where's the other one?
Rachel: What you want both of them? A little greedy, dontcha think?
Phoebe: Rachel Karen Greene, where's the other earring?!
Rachel: Okay, okay, look, just don't freak out... I kind of lost it. I know it's in the apartment, but I definitely lost it.
Phoebe: What am I gonna tell Monica? She wants to wear them tonight!
Rachel: Well, tell her to wear her own earrings.
      Phoebe: These are her earrings.
Rachel: Noooo, noooo! You lent me Monica's earrings?! I'm not allowed to borrow her stuff!
      Phoebe: Why not?
Rachel: Because I lose her stuff!!

    • Ross: Hey, how's my hair look?
Monica: Ross, it hasn't moved since 1996.

    • Chandler: So, you... you flirt with guys all the time?
Monica: Sure... It doesn't mean anything--just like I know it doesn't mean anything with you.
Chandler: Yeah, but there's a big difference... you are a lot hotter than I am.
      Joey: (overhearing) True story...

    • Chandler: Rachel, when you were going out with Ross, did it bother you when he flirted with other women?
Rachel: Uh, no, no. It bothered me when he slept with other women...

    • Rachel: But y'know, I never really had anything to worry about. Ross was never very good at the flirting thing.
Ross: What? What are you talking about? It, it worked with you...
Rachel: Oh, y'know what? You're right! We met, you flirted and then bam! ...nine years later, you had me!

    • Monica: Phoebe, I have to have those earrings. We're gonna leave as soon as the show's over.
Phoebe: I already gave them back to you.
      Monica: No you didn't.
Phoebe: Alright. I already didn't gave them back to you. That's what I said.

    • Chandler: When you flirt with a guy, you think, "I'm just flirting, no big deal," but the guy is thinking, "Finally! Somebody who wants to sleep with me!"
      Monica: No way!
      Chandler: It's true.
      Monica: Well that's pathetic.
      Chandler: Again, true.
Monica: This goes for all guys?
Chandler: All guys that are awake... Then we go to sleep and all guys from the other end of the world wake up and behave the exact same way.

    • Phoebe: (to Rachel about her search at Joey and Chandler's) Did you find it?
Rachel: The earring? No. But, look... I found my sunglasses under the couch. I've been looking for these since like, last summer!
Phoebe: Okay, those are my sunglasses--you borrowed them from me.
Rachel: Okay, calm down. Here they are.

    • (Rachel has lost Monica's earring, but Phoebe is taking the blame)
Phoebe: Mon, can I talk to you for a sec? Um... I lost one of your earrings. I am sorry. I am so, so sorry...
Monica: Wow... Alright, well, I mean... what can you do? If you lost it, you lost it.
Phoebe: I'll replace it. I promise. I feel so terrible.
Monica: Alright, sweety. That's fine--you didn't do it on purpose!
      Phoebe: No.
Monica: Aw, look at you... c'mere... (they hug) Feel better?
      Phoebe: Yeah, you're the best!
Rachel: (jealous of the bonding between Phoebe and Monica) Okay, wait a minute... Wait, I, I can't do this. Honey, it's not Phoebe's fault. She leant me the earrings, I lost it, I'm so sorry. Honey, I feel terrible, too. (goes to hug Monica)
Monica: (incensed) That is exactly why I do not lend you stuff! I mean, first it's my jewelry and if it's not my jewelry it's, it's my blue sweater, and if it's not my blue sweater it's my sunglasses!
      Rachel: Your sunglasses?
      Monica: Yes!
Phoebe: Oh, right. (hands the sunglasses Rachel borrowed from her to Monica)

    • Rachel: (catching up to Caitlin in the street) Hey, I'm Rachel... from upstairs--the people with all the pizza?
Caitlin: Oh, was there a problem...?
Rachel: No, everything was fine--great pizza! But it's actually... my friend Ross. He, uh... he just gets really nervous when he's flirting.
Caitlin: Oh, my God... that was flirting?
Rachel: Yeah, I know, I know... But... I'm telling you... once you get past that part where it just feels like you wanna die... um, he's... he's a really good person.

    • Rachel(about Ross's flirting) I think he really likes you.
      Caitlin: Really?
Rachel: Well, y'know, we have seven people and, like, ten pizzas--whaddaya think?
Caitlin: I just... I thought Joey was there.

    • Caitlin (about Ross): Well, if he's so great, why don't you go out with him?
Rachel: Hmm... Well, y'know, at some point you and I may need to have a longer conversation.

    • Chandler: (seeing Monica all dressed to go out) You look amazing! ...I'm the luckiest guy in the world.
Monica: Oh... you're about to get a little luckier!
