  • Burning down the house.

Rachel & Phoebe's apartment rooms burn down, because of Rachel. Which makes her stay at Joey's. She thinks it's a bad living arrangement, but it is great! I like how Phoebe was trying to run away from Kookoo Monica throughout the episode. Ross dating Elizabeth was okay I guess. This looks like decent relationship arc. I just know a whole bunch of new plots come from this, so it's probably good. Chandler trying to get the audition for Joey was okay too, wasn't great. The funny part was when Joey missed the audition. And it's always fun to see Monica get jealous. So good episode.moreless

Great episode! I loved Joey's Monday is 1st day, Tuesday is 2nd day, Wednesday is what when day oh Thursday 3rd day. I think I didn't do it exactly right but it was very cool. A fire starts in Phoebe and Rachel's apartment. You think they would be more angry but they weren't. It would be so cool to live with Joey. Ross dates his student and I don't think thats a bad thing. I don't know why he would get fired. Chandler is so good at faking stuff with the Dana girl and getting Joey for the auction which he missed.moreless

  • TRIVIA (14)

    • Trivia: The prickly yellow fruit that no one (including Monica) could identify, is a Kiwano Horned Melon from Africa. A member of the cucumber family, it is edible, tasting like a cross between banana and lemon. Since it is a tropical fruit, it should never be refrigerated (Monica at least knew that much about it).

    • Magna Doodle: A flying winged pyramid with serpents.

    • Continuity: When Phoebe is reading, she has her feet on Monica's couch. However, in "The One with Rachel's Other Sister", Monica grounded Chandler by saying "No shoes on the furniture!"

    • Continuity: One of the hallmarks of the series is that the friends are frequently hanging out in one another's apartments (and the coffee shop). This episode never makes it clear why Phoebe did not simply hang out at Joey's or elsewhere if Monica was driving her crazy; she only needed to be at Monica's apartment to sleep.

    • Trivia: This is the second time Joey auditions for the newest Al Pacino movie. The first time was in "The One with the Butt".

    • Goof: When Chandler is at dinner with Dana, his spoon keeps changing positions between shots.

    • Goof: When Monica is asking Phoebe if the smell from Joey's is bothering her, the shots of Monica from the front show her arms held on her hips, but the shots from behind show her arms crossed.

    • Goof: When the fireman is talking to Phoebe and Rachel, his helmet keeps switching which arm it is held under between shots.

    • Continuity: When Ross goes out with Elizabeth, he eats ice cream, but in "The One Where Chandler Doesn't Like Dogs" he says he doesn't like ice cream because it is "too cold".

    • Goof: When Rachel is throwing wet paper towels and says "I love it at Joey's!", Joey's lips are mouthing the words along with Rachel.

    • Goof: After Rachel and Joey have been throwing wet paper towels at the cupboard, when Phoebe tries to talk Rachel into moving in with Monica, the number of projectiles on the cupboard door behind Phoebe changes between shots.

    • Goof: There are two microphones visible when Joey walks into Chandler's apartment, and Chandler is sitting on the couch talking on the phone.

    • Factual Error: Ross receives his teacher evaluations before he posts the final grades. Professors do not receive them until at least half a semester later.

    • Goof: When Monica, Joey, Ross, and Chandler are all talking in Joey's apartment, Ross gets a bottle of water out of the fridge. It disappears only to return to his hands in the next shot.

  • QUOTES (9)

    • Ross: (coming into Monica's apartment) Hey! I just got my teacher evaluations! Check out what this one student wrote: "I loved Dr. Geller's class. Mind-blowing lectures! Dr. Geller, you are definitely the hottie of the paleontology department."
Chandler: Ahh, "Hotties of the Paleontology Department", there's a big-selling calendar, heh?!

    • Rachel: (about a student's evaluation) Who wrote it?
Ross: Oh, I wish I knew, but the evaluations are all anonymous.
Joey: Well, do you still have their final exams?
      Ross: Yeah.
Joey: 'Cause you could just match the evaluation to the exam with the same handwriting and, boom! There's your admirer.
Chandler: A hot girl's at stake and all of a sudden he's Rain Man.

    • Joey: Hey, Chandler, you know that girl you went to college with who became a movie director?
Chandler: Oh, yeah, Dana Keystone. She was in my movement class.
      Phoebe: What's a movement class?
Monica: It's Chandler's way of pretending he didn't take mime.

    • Joey: (giving Chandler tips to help him remember Thursday, the day of an audition) Monday: one day. Tuesday: two day. Wednesday: when, huh, what day? Thursday: the third day, okay?

    • Rachel: (walking out of the bathroom) Hey, Mon? I'm gonna check my messages.
Chandler: You just thought of that in there?
Monica: Sure, you know, Nature called, she wants to see who else did.

    • Chandler: (to Joey, after they learn of Phoebe's fire) What are you smiling about? What is so funny?
Joey: The part I want to audition for is a fireman! This is so meant to be!

    • (Chandler is going out with an ex-girlfriend to help get Joey an audition)
Monica: All right, well, why don't I go out with an ex-boyfriend and do Joey a favor?
Joey: Hey, you wanna do Joey a favor, maybe you go out with Joey.

    • Joey: (Giving Phoebe a tour of his apartment) This, right here, is where I keep the pizza. (points to a pizza box on the chair) ...and, uh, that's where the napkin is... (points to a napkin lying on the floor)

    • Ross: What do you want to do now, huh? Ya wanna go get a drink?
      Elizabeth: Enhhh... I can't.
Ross: Oh... you have some studying to do?
Elizabeth: No, I have some turning twenty-one to do.
