  • Rachel moves on.

    8.0
Well this plot awfully resembles when Rachel moved on with Joshua but who am I to judge. I liked this plot though even though it was sort of reused. Rachel plays mind games with Danny but it turns out the whole time Danny was planning to set up Rachel and his friend. I like when Rachel pretends to go up the stairs. She looked really desperate for the guy she called a yeti. Ross' plot was very dry and boring, the fort, him looking for a studio, did not like it that much. I'm sort of in a way happy for Rachel but sad at the end for her.moreless
  • This episode is classic Friends.

    9.0
After a somewhat weak episode, the series comes back with another classic installment. In my opinion, this episode is timeless Friends. Though not the series best, it is certainly a must-see episode. Ross moves in with Joey and Chandler in this episode and really annoys them. His “quiet down” hand motions are established in this episode and are really hilarious. I even sometimes use them to this day. Also, the story of Rachel thinking Danny is in to her is really cute and funny. The guy Phoebe is dating in this episode is not really funny, he is rather quite annoying, but Phoebe pulls off many funny moments acting with him. Overall, I’d recommend this episode for some solid laughs.moreless

A great episode, with a really interessting storyline and a good and funny cast. And like all episodes it has it's great wave in the storyline and a good cliff hanger at the end. Good episode. Wasn't the best but still good. Seem Ross moved in with Chandler and Ross where will he sleep...on the couch? because there are no more rooms, only two. Phoebe liks that guy Lary who is like totally obessed over the whole health in resurants and stuff which was funny that he kept closing all those places down but lucky not Central Perk because Phoebe stops him. Chandler and Joey should of told Ross he was annoying unstead of trying to get him out of their apartment then changing back. Some funny things Chandler said about Ross. Monica...don't know what to say about her because all she really did was the whole party thing and at the beginning with Lary.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (6)

    • Continuity: Considering all the emotional turmoil Ross went through with Emily, he doesn't seem particularly broken up about losing her--except, perhaps, for the fact that their divorce is yet another blemish on his marital record. Consider, by comparison, what Monica went through when she broke up with Richard, or for that matter, what Chandler went through when he broke up with Kathy.

    • Goof: There are several things wrong with Ross's apartment predicament. In the previous episode, he had all the things he hadn't sold to Gunther packed in boxes and was spackling the walls in preparation to move out. Monica invited him to dinner before he had finished and on that very same evening, he broke up with Emily over the phone. Why, then, would he have even bothered moving into Emily's cousin's apartment? Moreover, since he would have had to give at least a month's notice at his old place, he would still be in possession of it and could simply have reclaimed it.

    • Goof: When Chandler and Joey are discussing the Ross situation and Chandler asks "What are we gonna do?", his arms are crossed. When the camera angle changes, his hands are clasped in his lap.

    • Goof: In the opening scene when Joey shows Chandler his National Geographic, Chandler's left hand is on his face. When the camera angle changes, his hands are clasped in his lap.

    • Continuity: Rachel says to Danny that she doesn't sail. However in "The One with Phoebe's Cookies" she teaches Joey how to sail and states that her dad bought her a boat.

  • QUOTES (13)

    • Chandler: (to Ross) But you have to promise us to let us know the second you are feeling better, so that we can make fun of your hair!

    • Ross: I've been moving around so much, I'm starting to feel like a nomad.
      (Joey laughs)
      Ross: What?
Chandler: He thought you said "gonad".

    • Larry: Wow, Monica, if every restaurant is as clean as yours, I'd have a tough time making a living.
      Monica: Oh, Larry.
Phoebe: Um, do health inspectors work on commission?
      Larry: No, bribes.

    • Phoebe: (to Monica) Hey, you should really read that book you wrote. (to Larry) Wow! You saw the hat in the kitchen and knew that she'd have to go in there hatless to get it. You could have your own, y'know, health inspector detective show...

    • Rachel: No, I can't get started with all that Ross stuff again. I mean, he's gonna be screwed up for a long time. And besides, y'know, I don't... I don't go for guys right after they get divorced.
Monica: Right, you only go for them five minutes before they get married.

    • Joey: (to Ross) Since you're gonna be here for awhile, I was thinkin' we, uh, put your name on the answering machine.
Ross: Oh! I uh, hope you don't mind, but I kind've, already... jazzed it up a little. Check it out... (plays their answering machine greeting) "We will, we will, call you back!"
      Joey: Hey, all right!
      Ross: Pretty cool, huh?
(They both laugh as Ross heads to the bathroom.)
Joey: (to Chandler) You're fake-laughing too, right?
Chandler: Oh, the tears are real.

    • Larry: Just walking past the kitchen I saw ten violations! I'm shutting this place down!
Phoebe: You have the power to do that?
Larry: This does. (shows her his badge)
Phoebe: (turned on) Shut it down!

    • Chandler: Oh my God, the air purifier! Ross's air purifier! All I heard through four years of college was... (makes a humming noise).
Joey: Dude, you should have gone out once and a while...

    • Joey: Come on, Chandler, Ross is our friend, and he needs us right now. So why don't you be a grownup and come watch some TV in the fort?!

    • Monica: (looking through the peephole) It's Danny.
Rachel: Don't let him in! I'm supposed to be at a regatta gala.
Monica: (to Danny) We'll be right there! (to Rachel) Can't you just say it starts later?
Rachel: What? What kind of a regatta gala starts at night?
      Monica: The fake kind!

    • Joey: (about Ross's annoying habits) Look, I don't know how much more of this I can take! Did you know he taped over my Baywatch tape with some show about bugs! My God! What if that had been porn?!

    • Chandler: Yeah, well look at this kitchen-slash-bathroom. Well, that's great! Y'know, so you can cook while in the tub.
Joey: Somebody was using his head!

    • Chandler: (on the phone about Ross) Yes, he's a pimp. He's a big, tap-dancing pimp!

  • NOTES (4)

  • ALLUSIONS (2)

    • Joey: Did you know he taped over my Baywatch tape with some show about bugs?
Baywatch was an American television series about the lifeguards who patrol the crowded beaches of Los Angeles County, California. The show was notorious for its female cast members wearing skimpy bathing suits and running in slow motion.

    • Ross: (on the answering machine message) "We will, we will, call you back".
The message is a parody of Queen's "We Will Rock You."
