I believe this episode one of the best in season 4 with storyline and jokes. This episode is great for many reasons: one of it is the storyline: Monica and Rachel try to recover their apartment back from Joey and Chandler, so they try to exchange it for Knick's game tickets, which they refuse, so Monica and Rachel tell them that they can keep their appartment and the tickets if they beat them in something, so they play the highest card and the guys win and go to the game, but when they return Monica and Rachel had already switched it, so as a "thank you" they kiss for one minute and Chandler and Joey return to their old appartment; at the same time, Ross tries to make Emily stay longer so he asks her to marry him and she accepts.moreless

An amazing episode really. Season 4 is so far like the best season ever. So much well thought out arcs. The girls steal their apartment back. Finally, I thought they weren't going to get it back. I was so surprised. And Rachel & Monica made out for a minute. I wish that was on screen. Anyways while this crazy plot is going on. Ross & Emily get engaged! That was something I did not see coming. Very jaw dropping. I was like whoa. And when Ross told everybody. Rachel looked very disappointed. Which foreshadows some future drama at the wedding. Can't wait for the next episode!moreless

This episode of friends is so so funny. I saw it on tv last night for the first time.Ive got to say that it is probably one of the best episodes of season four.

In the episode Monica and Racheal are sick of living in Chandler and Joeys apartment. So they make a plan to switch back by offering the boys Knicks season tickets, but they refuse. So the girls have a contset with the boys for the tickets and apartment. After the boys win and go to the game they return to find that the girls have switched apartments.

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Goof: When the apartment bet is being established, immediately after Phoebe exclaims, "Oh, I have a game!", a camera is visible in the upper right corner of the screen.

    • Goof: It's somewhat hard to believe that in the few hours it must have took Chandler and Joey to go to the basketball game, Phoebe, Monica and Rachel could not only pack everything and move it into the other apartment, they could also unpack both so everything is back in its place.

    • Magna Doodle: What's up bro?

    • Continuity: When the girls come to the guys with the tickets and the offer that they'll give them the tickets if they give them back the apartment, Chandler comments that he won't give up his bachelor pad on which Monica asks if he even had a girl in the apartment. Chandler says no to that when in fact he was still in a relationship with Kathy when they switched the apartments and it would be strange that between the time Chandler and Joey moved to the new apartment and the time Chandler and Kathy broke up, Kathy was never in the new apartment.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Chandler: (Banging on the door) Open up! Open up! Open up!
Monica: (Opens the door as far as the chain) We'll discuss it in the morning. (Closes the door)
Chandler: What the hell is going on?
Rachel: (Opens the door as far as the chain) We took our apartment back! (Closes the door)
Phoebe: (Opens the door as far as the chain)I just want you to know I had nothing to do with it. (Closes the door, then reopens it) Okay, it was my idea. But I don't feel good about it.

    • Rachel: (Referring to Knicks tickets) Come on. We know what these are worth.
Monica: What, do you think we're stupid?
Joey: Not stupid. You're meaner then I thought.

    • Rachel: (About living in the boy's apartment) I hate the color of these walls. I hate the fact that this place still smells like bird!

    • Monica: Hey guys, what should I wear to a Knicks game?
      Chandler: A t-shirt that says: "I don't belong here."

    • Chandler: You've only known her for six weeks! I have a carton of milk in my refrigerator that I've had a longer relationship with!
Ross: Look guys, when I'm with her it's like she brings out this great side in me. I mean, I love her, you know?
Chandler: And I love the milk! But I'm not going to ask some British girl to move in with me! (Realizes what he said) Joey, you say things now.

    • Joey: (Seeing Ross' new earring) What, we don't make fun of you enough already?

    • Emily: But my job ...
Ross: So get a job here! I'm always hearing about foreigners moving in and stealing American jobs. That could be you!

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (6)

    • Joey: Didn't you ever read Sports Illustrated?

Sports Illustrated is an iconic weekly American sports magazine owned by media giant Time Warner. It was the first magazine with circulation over one million to win the National Magazine Award for General Excellence twice.

    • Chandler: Just remember to wake us up before you go-go.

"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" is a song by English pop duo Wham!.

    • Chandler: (To Ross about his earring) You do know that Wham broke up?

Wham! was a pop band formed in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley.

    • Joey: I could slip Woody Allen my resume.

Woody Allen is a three-time Academy Award-winning American film director, writer, actor, jazz musician, comedian, and playwright.

    • The Singing Man: Morning's here! Sunshine is here! The sky is clear, the morning's here! The morning's here!

The man singing across from Rachel's/Joey's bedroom is singing a song with made-up lyrics, but the song's melody is the same as the song "Feels So Good" by instrumental musician Chuck Mangione.

    • Chandler: Haven't you ever read Flowers for Algernon?

The book Chandler mentions is about a mentally challenged man named Charlie who receives a treatment to make him intelligent. The treatment turns out to be temporary and Charlie reverts back to his original condition. He goes away to a home for the mentally challenged because he can't bear to live the way he did before the operation. Chandler is claiming that he and Joey going back to their old apartment after living at Monica & Rachel's would be as impossible for them as going back to being mentally retarded was for Charlie.
