FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (4)

    • Goof: When the apartment bet is being established, immediately after Phoebe exclaims, "Oh, I have a game!", a camera is visible in the upper right corner of the screen.

    • Goof: It's somewhat hard to believe that in the few hours Chandler and Joey were at the basketball game, Phoebe, Monica and Rachel could have exchanged all the furniture and contents of both apartments and put everything back, exactly the way it used to be.

    • Magna Doodle: What's up bro?

    • Continuity: When the girls come to the guys with the tickets and the offer that they'll give them the tickets if they give them back the apartment, Chandler comments that he won't give up his bachelor pad on which Monica asks if he even had a girl in the apartment. Chandler says no to that when in fact he was still in a relationship with Kathy when they switched the apartments and it would be strange that between the time Chandler and Joey moved to the new apartment and the time Chandler and Kathy broke up, Kathy was never in the new apartment.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Rachel: I hate this apartment! I hate the color of these walls! I hate the fact that this place still smells like bird!

    • Monica: Hey guys, what should I wear to a Knicks game?
      Chandler: A T-shirt that says: "I don't belong here."

    • Rachel: (teasing about the Knicks tickets) C'mon... We know what these are worth...
Monica: What, do you think we're stupid?
Joey: Not stupid... You're meaner than I thought...

    • Joey: (seeing Ross's new earring) What, we don't make fun of you enough, already?

    • Ross: (about Emily) I could ask her to live with me...
      Chandler: Are you serious?
Ross: Why not? I mean... why not?!
Chandler: Because you've only known her six weeks! Okay? ...I've got a carton of milk in my refrigerator I've had a longer relationship with!
Ross: Look, guys, when I'm with her... it's like... she brings out this great side of me. I mean, I love her, y'know?
Chandler: And I love the milk! But I'm not going to ask some British girl to move in with me! (realizing the absurdity of what he just said) Joey, you say things now.

    • Emily: But my job...
Ross: So get a job here! I'm always hearing about foreigners moving in and stealing American jobs. That could be you!

    • Chandler: (banging on the door) Open up! Open up! Open up!
Monica: (opens the door as far as the chain) We'll discuss it in the morning. (closes the door)
Chandler: What the hell is going on?
Rachel: (opens the door as far as the chain) We took our apartment back! (closes the door)
Phoebe: (opens the door as far as the chain) I had nothing to do with it. (closes the door, then reopens it) Okay, it was my idea, but I don't feel good about it.

  • NOTES (3)

  • ALLUSIONS (6)

    • Joey: Didn't you ever read Sports Illustrated?
Sports Illustrated is an iconic weekly American sports magazine owned by media giant Time Warner. It was the first magazine with circulation over one million to win the National Magazine Award for General Excellence twice.

    • Chandler: Just remember to wake us up before you go-go.
"Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" is a song by English pop duo Wham!.

    • Chandler: (to Ross about his earring) You do know that Wham broke up?
Wham! was a pop band formed in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. George Michael was one of the first pop stars to wear an earring as well as "perma-scruff" (a permanent 2-day shadow).

    • Joey: I could slip Woody Allen my resume.
Woody Allen is a three-time Academy Award-winning American film director, writer, actor, jazz musician, comedian, and playwright. He is also huge Knicks fan.

    • The Singing Man: Morning's here! Sunshine is here! The sky is clear, the morning's here! The morning's here!
The man singing across from Rachel's/Joey's bedroom is singing a song with made-up lyrics, but the song's melody is the same as the song "Feels So Good" by instrumental musician Chuck Mangione.

    • Chandler: Haven't you ever read Flowers for Algernon?
The book Chandler mentions is about a mentally challenged man named Charlie who receives a treatment to make him intelligent. The treatment turns out to be temporary and Charlie reverts back to his original condition. Chandler is claiming that he and Joey going back to their old apartment after living at Monica and Rachel's would be as impossible for them as going back to being mentally retarded was for Charlie. Flowers for Algernon was made into a movie in 1968 called Charly and starred Cliff Robertson. Robertson won the best actor Oscar for his performance in the title roll.
