Goof: When Ross first starts to play rugby, he jumps in the middle of the scrum. However, there is a referee there and a referee would never allow a player to jump in the middle of the scrum like that.
Trivia: This episode marks the end of Janice and Chandler's off and on relationship.
Goof: When Ross, Emily, and Joey return to Central Perk, Ross has a bloody ear. However in the next scene, his ear is no longer bloody.
Goof: When Rachel tells Joey to flush the toilet, her right hand goes from the counter to the top of her soda pop between shots.
Magna Doodle: Nice nails Chandler!
Factual Error: Ross tells Joey he'll go "Red Ross" on them like he did in line for Dances With Wolves when someone butted in line. But from several flashback episodes we know Joey moved in around 1993. Dances With Wolves came out in 1990. Unless they went to a revival house, Joey would not have witnessed "Red Ross" in that line.
Goof: When Chandler is at the airport trying to buy a fake plane ticket to Yemen, he offers his library card to trick Janice. The ticket agent does not understand what he is trying to do and makes him pay with a real credit card. Chandler then offers the same card as his credit card. Then, as Chandler turns to talk to Janice, you can see him putting the library card back in his wallet. When the camera cuts back to him and the ticket agent, he suddenly has a different card, an American Express card, in his hand.
Trivia: Monica's storyline with the power switch is lifted directly from an episode of Married ... with Children. Even the way it ends, with Monica flipping the switch on and off and declaring that it doesn't go anywhere, only to have the scene change to the place the switch actually affects.
Chandler: (about the nail salon) You said there were gonna be other guys here. There are no other guys here.
Rachel: Chandler, there's a guy right over there.
Chandler: (glancing over) That's a mailman! (taking a better look) That's our mailman!!
Rachel: (about getting his nails done) Chandler, don't worry. This doesn't make you any less of a guy. (Chandler blows on his nails) That does!
Rachel: What am I sitting on? (Rachel pulls a fake red nail out from under her) Oh, my God! I'd hate to think what this woman was scratching when she lost this.
Chandler: (about Janice) You know all those annoying things from before we fell in love, like her voice, and her laugh, and her personality? Well, they're all back. Plus, she's picked up like nine new ones!
Monica: (trying to figure what the switch does) All right! So, is everybody ready? Here we go. (she flips on the switch and a hum starts) I hear something! I hear something! Where is it?
Rachel: (realizing it's Joey humming mischievously) It's coming from Joey!
Phoebe: Oh my God, that's so freaky! Turn him off!
Ross: I don't know what the big deal is, I'm man enough to play this sport.
Joey: Dude, you're not even man enough to order the channel that carries the sport.
Chandler: I'm only pretend-moving to Yemen, it's the only way I can get rid of her!
Joey: Ah, good one! (gives him a thumbs up) And "Yemen"... that actually sounds like a real country!
Joey: Okay Ross, look. (points to TV) Right here, it's called a scrum. Okay, it's kinda like a huddle.
Ross: And is a hum kinda like a scruddle?
Ross: (about playing Rugby to impress Emily) Well, you should have seen the guy that she used to go out with. I mean, he's like... "Joe Rugby"!
Phoebe: You're kidding! And he plays rugby?! That's so funny. (realizes) Oh! I see how you did that. Alright.
Chandler: Y'know, you really didn't have to take me to the airport.
Janice: Oh, please. Every moment is precious. Besides, somebody had to ride in that other taxi with the rest of your luggage... and your friends don't seem to care very much that you're leaving.
Chandler: Well, we're not really that close...
Ross: I'm not stoppin', I'm "Red Ross!"
Joey: Dude, you go back out there, you're gonna be "Dead Ross!"
Rachel: (finding their wall full of holes) Oh, my God! What is this?!
Monica: Okay! But there is a wire back there! I mean, that switch is connected to something...
Rachel: I don't care. The wires have come loose in your head!
Emily: (hugs Ross who's injured from playing rugby) I'm sorry, did I hurt you?
Ross: It's worth the pain. (she hugs him again) Y'know what, y'know what...? It's not.

Ross: The time we were all waiting in line for Dances with Wolves and that one guy cut in front of us and I just lost it?
Dances with Wolves is a 1990 film about a United States cavalry officer who befriends a Native American, sacrificing ties to his own people. A substantial amount of the dialogue is in the Lakota language with English subtitles.
Janice: Oh boy, I just love to sing.
Chandler: Yeah, I know you do. I think the reason people were complaining, though, is that most of them paid to hear the actor sing "Ol' Man River."
"Ol' Man River" is a song about the Mississippi River by Jerome Kern and Oscar Hammerstein II from the Broadway musical Showboat.
