Trivia

FILTER BY TYPE

  • Trivia

    • Continuity: In this episode Rachel tells Phoebe that she's not supposed to bring cups out of Central Perk. However, in "The One With The Baby On The Bus", not only does Phoebe drink from a cup outside of Central Perk, but Rachel brings it out for her. Also, in "The One With A Chick And A Duck" Gunther (who was actually the person to tell Rachel that the cups weren't supposed to be brought out of the coffee place) brings out a cup of cocoa for Rachel.

    • Trivia: Chandler includes Jessica Rabbit on his "list". Ironically, Jessica Rabbit was voiced by Kathleen Turner who appears later as Chandler's transvestite father Charles Bing in Season 7's "The One with Chandler's Dad" and "The One with Chandler and Monica's Wedding".

    • Goof: At the end of this episode when Chandler locks Joey inside the entertainment unit, he supposedly gives Joey a five dollar bill, confirmed when Joey says "Hello Mr. Lincoln!" However, when Chandler takes out the bill from his wallet, it is clearly a one dollar bill.

    • Continuity: Monica is obsessed with cleaning throughout the entire series. However in this episode, she never noticed her bathroom floor was dingy, even though Joey, of all people, did.

    • Goof: The gang realizes that the entertainment cabinet is too big for the wall after they lift it up, but it would have been obvious when it was still lying on the floor.

    • Trivia: Ross mentions Susan Sarandon for his list, however, when she later appeared in "The One with Joey's New Brain" as Jessica Lockhart, she hooked up with Joey.

    • Goof: When Chandler trips over the bottom of his bedroom door after Joey saws through it, the part he trips over never moves. The bottom part should move because it is not latched to the door frame at all.

    • Goof: When Frank Jr. holds a white sheet around himself, while talking to Phoebe at the massage parlor, the gathered sheet in his hand keeps changing repeatedly throughout the scene.

    • Goof: When Phoebe is talking to Monica while Frank Jr. is doing karate on the balcony, the blue cup in front of her switches to the other side of her plate and then back when the camera angle changes.

    • Trivia: Chandler's door is never completely repaired or replaced following this episode. Although Monica adjoins the two halves in season four, Joey's cut is still visible for the remaining seven seasons.

    • Trivia: Ross has Winona Ryder on his freebie list. However, Winona Ryder later appeared in "The One with Rachel's Big Kiss" as Melissa, and she wanted Rachel.

    • Continuity: Phoebe's birthday is inconsistent. In "The One with Frank Jr." Phoebe tells her half-brother that her birthday is February 16th. Also, in "The One with Two Parts (2)" Phoebe has a birthday party in February. However, in "The One Where Nana Dies Twice" Rachel talks about Phoebe's last birthday party. Since Rachel first met Phoebe earlier that season, this implies that Phoebe's birthday must have occurred since September, when Rachel first joined the group. Also, in "The One with Phoebe's Birthday Dinner", Phoebe's birthday is close to Halloween, consistent with Rachel's statement. Furthermore, in "The One Where They All Turn Thirty", the flashbacks of Phoebe's 30th birthday imply her birthday is in the summer.

    • Continuity: When they show the inside of Monica's bathroom, the toilet is against the wall opposite the door. In "The One With Chandler And Monica's Wedding (1)" when Phoebe finds Rachel's pregnancy test, the toilet is right next to the sink.

  • Quotes

    • Chandler: (to Joey, about the lumber in their apartment) So, what happened? Did a forest tick you off?

    • Joey: You know how we're always saying we need a place for the mail?
      Chandler: Yeah?
Joey: Well, I started building one. But then I decided to take it to the next step.
Chandler: You're building a post office?

    • Joey: (after drilling through Chandler's bedroom wall) Oh, I'm sorry. Did I get ya?
Chandler: No, you didn't get me! It's an electric drill! You get me, you kill me!

    • Monica: (to Joey) Hey! Where ya headin' in those pants? 1982?

    • (Joey puts a toilet brush over the hole he gouged in Monica's bathroom floor)
Monica: Aw, that's nice. We can put it back there after the surgeons remove it from your colon!

    • Ross: (reading from his "list") "Isabella Rossellini".
Chandler: Ooh-hoo! Very hot, very sexy. But, uh... y'know, she's too international... Y'know, she's never gonna be around.
      Rachel: So?
Chandler: So, you gotta play the odds... pick somebody who's gonna be in the country, like, all the time.
Rachel: Yeah, 'cause that's why you won't get Isabella Rossellini... geography.

    • Chandler: (with a varnish can lid stuck to his pants) You know what? It's my fault really, because the couch is normally where we keep the varnish.

    • Phoebe: Alright, well this is my favorite part of the weekend. Right now, this.
      Frank: This?
      Phoebe: Uh-huh...
Frank: Oh, come on. We went, we went to Time Square. We found ninja stars. I almost get my arm broken by a hooker...
      Phoebe: She's not a hooker.
Frank: Well, when I tell my friends about her, she will be... (grins)

    • Chandler: Okay. On three. One... two...
Joey: Why don't we just go on two?
      Chandler: Why two?
      Joey: Because it's faster.
Chandler: You know, I could've counted to three like four times without all this "two" talk.
Joey: All right but in the future ...
Ross: Okay, okay, heavy thing not getting any lighter...
      Chandler: Okay. One... two...
Joey: So we are going on two?

    • Chandler: (about the entertainment center being too large) A good job, Joe.
      Joey: Wow. It's big.
Chandler: Yeah, so big that it actually makes our doors look smaller.
      Joey: Maybe my ruler's wrong.
Phoebe: (inspired) Maybe all the rulers are wrong...

    • (Isabella Rossellini comes in to Central Perk)
Ross: Damn! I cannot believe I took her off my list!
Monica: Why? 'Cause otherwise you'd go for it? (laughs mockingly)
      Ross: Yeah, maybe.
      Rachel: Ha-ha... You lie!
Ross: What? You don't think I'd go up to her?
Rachel: Ross, it took you ten years to finally admit you liked me.
Ross: Yeah, well missy, you better be glad that list is laminated.
Rachel: You know what, honey? You go ahead. We'll call her an "alternate".
      Ross: Okay, hold my cruller.
      Rachel: Okay.
      (Ross heads for the counter)
Monica: Rach', are you really gonna let him do this?
Rachel: Honey, he's about to go hit on Isabella Rossellini. I'm just sorry we don't got popcorn.

    • Isabella Rossellini: (to Ross) Oh, you know what? You were on my list of five goofy coffeehouse guys I could sleep with, but yesterday you got bumped for that guy over there!
