  • Filler Flashback.

    6.5
This episode was not great. You could tell this was a filler, since the reason fro a flashback episode was so small, just because Joey was auditioning for a part. The only non filler part is that Joey gets the part in the end. It was funny how Chandler forgot to tell Joey about the audition being moved at a later time. As for the fladhbacks, not so good. I think they overused this just a bit. Pretty much a flashback filler. So by the time the episode was over, it definitely did not feel complete. A small cliffhanger now that Joey got the part.moreless

This Friends epsiode - Season 6 - The one with Mac and Cheese is a great, hilarious episode and has lots of flashbacks. Joey gets an audition for a leading role as Mac in Mac and Cheese, flashbacks of his acting include - 'the butt' , the dr drake ramoray pause, the pretending, the weird play. Joey gets a call back and is really nervous - he makes a comment about how the rest don't have any pressure at their jobs... cue flashback sequences about jobs. They include - Chandler talking about the WENUS, Monica auditioning for a chefs job, Rachel about to quit at Bloomingdales, Phoebe and the Paolo incident and Ross and the sandwich incident - 'you ATE MY sandwich'!! lolmoreless
  • The gang relives old memories while Joey auditions for a new show called Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E.

I don't generally enjoy flashback episodes, but at least this one incorporated a storyline that somewhat held my interest.

Joey is auditioning for a new show and after Chandler forgets to pass along a message about the rescheduled audition, the two get into an argument. It was fun seeing past arguments, especially Ross and Rachel's. I also really enjoyed the ending where we got to see many of the hugs between Joey and Chandler. It's really nice to see two guys who are such close friends and so comfortable with one another. Overall, not a highlight for the season or the show, but decent for a flashback episode.moreless

It was ok. Not much Monica in the episode except for flashbacks. The flashbacks were great. Joey and Chandler hugging so much. My favorite was the one where Joey is on Days of Our Lives and watching that part where he does the weird head thing. And when Joey was the part of someone and everyone laughed! And oh my god they looked so different back then. Monica and Rachel are way better looking now and Phoebe was cool with curly hair. They sure changed alot!moreless
  • Definitely not the best

    8.0
"The One With Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E." is a flashback episode, and is mediocre as far as the quality of "Friends" goes. The only mildly funny parts are when Phoebe is helping Joey rehearse for an audition that he has for a sitcom, and those scenes aren't up to the normal standard of "Friends". The rest of the episode consists of flashbacks, centering on Joey's career, the group's jobs, and their relationships. A lot of the flashbacks were shown on the previous flashback episode, so there's really nothing special about them. "The One With Mac and C.H.E.E.S.E." really brings Season 6 down for me, which is a shame because Season 6 has so many fantastic episodes.moreless
