Continuity: In "The One with Frank Jr." Rachel tells Phoebe that she's not supposed to bring cups out of Central Perk. However, in this episode, not only does Phoebe drink from a cup outside of Central Perk, but Rachel brings it out for her. Also, in "The One with a Chick and a Duck" Gunther (who was actually the person to tell Rachel that the cups weren't supposed to be brought out of the coffee place) brings out a cup of cocoa for Rachel (possibly because of his feelings for her).
Goof: In the scene where Chandler is telling Monica that it will be a long time before she has to deal with her own baby, Monica folds her arms. When the camera angle changes, her arms are down by her sides. When the angle pans back to Chandler, her arms are folded again.
I'm in the shower and I'm writing a song
Stop me if you've heard it.
My skin is soapy, and my hair is wet,
and Tegrin spelled backward is Nirget.
Lather, rinse, repeat and lather, rinse, repeat
and lather, rinse, repeat... as needed.
"I Play For Me"
When I play, I play for me
I don't need your charity
La lalala lalalalalalala
lalala lalala lalalalalalala....
...was the double, double, double-jointed boy.
Stephanie knows all the chords...
Terry's a jerk!
And he won't let me work!
And I hate Central Perk!
You're all invited to bite me!
Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat,
What are they feeding you?
Smelly Cat, Smelly Cat,
It's not your fault.
Trivia: In this episode we learn that Ross has a Ph.D.
Continuity: Phoebe knows guitar chords in this episode, but not in "The One with All the Resolutions" three years later when she's teaching Joey to play the guitar.
Trivia: In this episode we learn that Joey has seven sisters.
Trivia: This is the first episode in which Phoebe's song "Smelly Cat" is played.
Trivia: In this episode we learn that Ross is allergic to kiwi, lobster and peanuts.
Ross: Ben loves you. He's just being Mr. Crankypants.
Chandler: You know, I once dated a Miss Crankypants. Lovely girl, kinda moody.
Monica: What if my own baby hates me? Huh? What am I gonna do then?
Chandler: Monica, will you stop? This is nuts. Do you know how long it's gonna be before you actually have to deal with this problem? I mean, you don't even have a boyfriend yet. (awkward pause) Joey, she does not look fat.
Joey: (to Ross who's choking) Are you okay, Ross?
Ross: I don't know... (groans) What's in this pie?
Monica: Uh, I dunno, um... butter and eggs and flour and... lime and kiwi--
Ross: Kiwi?! Kiwi?! You said it was a key lime pie...
Monica: No I didn't, I said kiwi-lime... That's what makes it so special!
Ross: And that's what's gonna kill me... I'm allergic to kiwi.
Monica: Is your tongue swelling up?
Ross: Either that or my mouth is getting thmaller.
Ross: (mumbling due to swollen tongue) Thumrthel, thubrthel thbhrth!
Chandler: (to Joey) You understood that?
Joey: My uncle had a really big tongue.
Chandler: Is he the one with the really beautiful wife?
Terry: Rachel, it's not that your friend is bad, it's... it's that she's so bad, she makes me want to put my finger through my eye, into my brain, and swirl it around!
Rachel: Okay... so you're not a fan...
Caroline: I think it's great you guys are doing this.
Chandler: Well, we are great guys.
Caroline: You know, my brother and his boyfriend have been trying to adopt for three years. What agency did you two go through?
Phoebe: But, but this is my gig! This is where I play! My, my name is written out there in chalk! Y'know, you can't just erase... chalk...
Rachel: Terry is a jerk, okay? That's why we're always saying "Terry's a jerk!". That's where that came from.
Ross: Well, there'th no way I'm gonna get a shot. Maybe they can take the needle, y'know and thquirt it into my mouth, y'know, like a thquirt gun.
Becky: So, what are you guys out doing today?
Joey: Oh, we're not out... No-no... We're just, uh, two heterosexual guys, hangin' with the son of our... other heterosexual friend... doing the usual straight guy stuff.
Chandler: (to Joey) You done?
Robin: Oh, there's our stop!
Joey: Get outta here. This is our stop.
Becky: You guys live around here, too?
Joey: Oh, yeah, yeah, sure... We live in the building by the... uh... sidewalk.
Chandler: (to Robin and Becky) You know it?
Chandler: (on a pay phone) Come on, pick up, pick up! Hello? Transit Authority? Yes, hello. I'm doing research for a book, and I was wondering what someone might do if they left a baby on a city bus. Yes, I do realize that would be a very stupid character.
(Chandler hands the phone to Joey)
Joey: Hi, here's the deal. We lost a carseat on a bus today. It's white plastic, with a handle, and it fits onto a stroller. Oh, and there was a baby in it. (hands the phone back to Chandler) He wants to talk to you again.
(Chandler and Joey are trying to decide which of two babies is Ben)
Joey: Oh! Oh, wait... That one's definitely Ben. Remember, he had that cute little mole by his mouth.
Chandler: Hey, Ben, remember us? ...Okay, the mole came off.
(Chandler and Joey have to decide which of two babies is Ben; one has duck designs on his clothing and the other has clowns)
Joey: (about to flip a coin) Okay, uh... ducks is heads, because ducks... have heads.
Chandler: What kind of scary-ass clowns came to your birthday?
Rachel: Well, people missed you in there. And in fact, there was actually a request for "Smelly Cat".
Phoebe: Really? From who?
Rachel: Well, from me. And I know it's not your big money song, but it's my favorite.
Ross: I just wanna thank you for being there for me today. And I'm sorry I, I almost broke your hand.
Monica: That's ok. I'm sorry I poisoned you.
Ross: Oh, man. Oh, remember when I stuck that broom in your bike spokes, and you flipped over and hit your head on the curb?
Monica: No. But I remember people telling me about it.
Ross: I hope Ben has a little sister.
Monica: Yeah. I hope she can kick his ass.
