Factual Error: When Ross and Joey are playing catch, Ross is boring Joey with palaeontology stories. He says "...now when they found the remains of the Mesozoic Mastodon they discovered what appeared to be the remains of a Palaeozoic Amphibian in its jaws! How did it get there?" However, there were no Mastodons in the Mesozoic Era. The Mesozic lasted from 251 million years ago to 65 million years ago. The earliest Mastodons appeared only about 4 million years ago. Ross should have said "Cenozoic Mastodon."

Magna Doodle: A drawing of a flying saucer
Monica: (to Gary about asking Phoebe to move in) Okay just do not get her flowers because she cries when they die... And then there's the whole funeral...
Joey: Hey, Ross, is, uh... is Staten Island really an island?
Ross: Uh-huh. That's why they call it Staten Island.
Joey: Oh, I thought it was like Long Island.
Ross: (after a brief pause) Also an island.
Rachel: (about her hairless Sphynx cat) Check it out!
Ross: What, what is...?
Joey: What the hell is that?
Rachel: It's, it's a cat.
Joey: That... is not a cat.
Rachel: Yes, it is!
Ross: Why is it inside out?!
Rachel: (about her hairless cat) I'm going to go set up a litter box for Mrs. Whiskerson. (seeing Ross and Joey look at her) Well what am I gonna call her? Fluffy?!
Monica: (calling in sick to work so she can throw the ball with the guys) I won't be able to come to work today because, um, I'm not feeling very good. (catches the ball) Yes!! Wow, for a second there I thought I was feeling better, but I'm not. Bye.
Rachel: You guys, this cat is nothing like my grandmother's cat! I mean, it's not sweet... it's not cute... I even dragged that little string on the ground and, and it just flipped out and scratched the hell out of me! And I swear, I know this sounds crazy, but every time this cat hisses at me, I know it's saying, "Rachel!"
Monica: What?! You paid a thousand dollars for a cat when you owe me three hundred?
Rachel: Well, I was gonna let you play with it.
Monica: (during the ball toss, panicked) Oh my God! The cat's made my eyes water! Don't, don't throw it to me! My vision's been compromised! (wipes her eyes) Oh, God! Okay... okay. It's okay. That was close!
Chandler: Yeah, you almost overreacted to something.
(Rachel's on the sidewalk in front of Central Perk trying to sell her cat)
Rachel: Okay, that'll be two thousand dollars...
Rachel: Okay, a thousand...
Woman: I thought you wanted me to adopt your cat.
Rachel: Well, I do, but you're just going to have to actually look at this as more of an investment, than a cat.
Woman: Okay, yeah, I just wanted a cat.
(The woman starts to leave but Rachel pulls her back)
Rachel: Okay, obviously you know how to haggle, so I'm not going to try to take you on, okay? So, $800 and I don't call the cops, which I should because you are robbing me blind!! (covers her eyes) So, take the cat, leave the money, and run away... run away! (uncovers her eyes to see that the woman has left) Damn it!
Monica: Rachel, what is your cat doing in one of my bowls?
Rachel: It's not. I'm defrosting a chicken.
