Goof: Before Chandler goes to Richard's he runs into his and Monica's bedroom to grab the engagement ring. He simply grabs it out of a drawer and runs. Why would he be keeping the ring in a drawer, not hidden at all, where Monica could easily find it?
Continuity: When Monica is in Richard's apartment, she gets upset about how her current situation is not fair. She says that fair would have been Richard wanting to marry her when they were together, or Chandler wanting to marry her now. This is a misstatement on her part. Richard did want to marry her when they were together. The deal breaker was that he did not really want to have more children.
Goof: At the end when Chandler walks through the door, the camera switches to Monica and you can see the set lights above her.
Magna Doodle: A drawing of a racing car
Goof: At the end when Chandler goes back into his apartment, he opens the door from the outside with his right hand. The view immediately switches to him from the inside of the apartment, and he is holding the handle with his left hand.
Trivia: Normally, in the two-parts episodes, the ending credits are shots of the gang dancing at the water fountain, and the guest actors and actresses credited are from the both parts. However in this episode, the credits only showed "Richard", and the shot was of Chandler & Monica dancing slowly, even the fact that in part 1 the credits were shown with the water fountain shots.
Continuity: When the gang hugs after Monica says "Yes" to Chandler and Phoebe said that is wrong because Ross wasn't there, Rachel says that it doesn't matter because he had been over that 3 times. Ross only proposed to Carol and Emily. in his third marriage with Rachel there was no proposal.
Monica: Chandler, in all my life, I never thought I would be so lucky (starts to cry) as to... fall in love with my best... my best... zthere's a reason why girls don't do this!
Chandler: I'll do it. I thought...(Also starts to cry) Wait, I can do this. I thought that it mattered, what I said or where I said it. Then I realized, the only thing that matters is that you, you make me happier than I ever thought I could be. And if you let me, I will spend the rest of my life trying to make you feel the same way. (Pulls out the ring) Monica, will you marry me?
Monica: Yes.
Richard: Well, apparently, I'm willing to offer her things that you're not.
Chandler: But I am willing to offer her all those things. This was just a plan, you know, a way to throw her off course so that when I offered her all these things, she'd be surprised.
Richard: Well, if it helps, it worked very well.
Chandler: It was working till you showed up, you big tree.
Chandler: Where is she? I'm not scared of you. (Walks in to Richard's apartment)
Richard: She's not here. And please come in.
Chandler: Scotch on the rocks... with a twist... on a coaster. Monica? Monica?!
Monica: (About Chandler's proposal) I knew you were likely to take a wife!
Chandler: Well what. Y'know what I'm gonna do? I'm gonna go over there; I'm gonna kick his ass! (Pause) Will you help me?!
Joey: Look, Chandler I don't think us getting our asses kicked is a solution.
Chandler: I gotta find Monica.
Joey: She's gone. She said you guys were on different things.
Chandler: I can't believe I ruined this.
(He walks into the apartment and there are candles everywhere, and Monica is there)
Monica: You said you wanted it to be a surprise.
Chandler: (To Richard) You know what you did? My girlfriend is out there thinking things over! You made my girlfriend think!
According to an interview on Oprah, the proposal scene is Matthew Perry and Courteney Cox's favorite moment on Friends.

Tom Selleck received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for his work in this episode.
This episode received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Multi-Camera Picture Editing for a Series (Stephen Prime).
This is the final appearance of Tom Selleck as Dr. Richard Burke. Richard was in 10 episodes of Friends.
This episode runs 22:56 on DVD (a typical sitcom runs about 22:00).
The Monica and Chandler plot originally featured Richard and Chandler both proposing to Monica at the same time. The idea was scrapped but reworked for Phoebe and her men in the 9th season finale.
Except for the series finale, this is the only season finale that doesn't end with a cliffhanger. As the producers explain on the DVD commentary track for the episode, the scripted cliffhanger featured Elizabeth telling Ross that she was pregnant. David Schwimmer shot all of his scenes for this episode the week before so that he could leave for England to shoot Band of Brothers. (This explains the conspicuous absence of Ross in the episode's final scene.) After he left, the producers decided that Ross having another baby would be overkill since they wanted to make Rachel pregnant soon anyway.

Joey: Where the hell have you been?!
Chandler: (About Joey's captain outfit) I was making a coconut phone with the professor.
Joey: Richard told Monica he wants to marry her!
Chandler: What?!
Joey: Yeah! Yeah, I've been trying to find you to tell you to stop messing with her and maybe I would have if these damn boat shoes wouldn't keep flying off!
Chandler: Oh my God!
Joey: I know! They suck!
