Who was the Episode MVP ?

  • So long Emily!

Well I saw some of the reviews, and it seems like this was "one of the weaker ones of season five" Whoever said that needs to watch the episode again because Ross breaks off the marriage with Emilhy and I started jumping for joy! But I do feel bad for Ross though. Especially with the hilarious plot. The guy that looked like a yeti. He cleans up nice I thought to myself. I like his attitude toward Rachel, he coulde definitely become a good ongoing boyfriend to Rachel. he is also seems to be right about everything. I hope he sticks around for a while.moreless
  • This is one of the weaker episode in season five.

I was never a huge fan of this episode. Don’t get me wrong, it has its moments, but it is not at the same level as the average season five episode in my opinion. The introduction of the character Danny is a very funny one with Monica and Rachel fogging him, but after that the story goes nowhere. We see more of Danny in future episodes, but I never thought his character was properly used. Also in this episode Emily’s demands towards Ross become even more unreasonable. Ross seems like he will do anything for his rocky marriage to work and it makes fans hate Emily even more. Thank God her characters run is nearing its end. Overall, this episode is worth a watch, but there are many better Friends episodes.moreless
  • a good episode

emily tells ross that he must get rid of all of his old stuff as it would remind him and her about rachael anything she touched looked at or owned, so gunther buys it all. meanwhile in the basement monica and rachael mistak a hairy neigbour for a yeti and gass him. they try numerous times to apologise and then rachael goes out with him. in the end ross and emily end because ross cant bear to not see rachael anymore. leaving ross to try and get his stuff back from gunther. a very good episode. lol ha ha lol.moreless

A great episode, with a really interessting storyline and a good and funny cast. And like all episodes it has it's great wave in the storyline and a good cliff hanger at the end. • Emily decides that Ross should sell all his stuff and his apartment. Rachel and Monica mistake a hairy neighbor for a yeti.

Emily is a little witch. She is so obessed over that whole Ross said Rachel thing. I think she should of already got over it. She is making Ross sell ALL of his things! Rachel is just a friend to Ross now. I think Emily is just jealous because Ross has good friends. Joey has a hard time keeping Monica and Chandler's secret. Joey isn't that good with secrets even though he kept Monica and Chandler's. He told Ross that everyone doesn't like Emily which pissed Ross off. I guess Ross is done with Emily bossing him around so he tells her Rachel is there and then she breaks off the marriage.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (8)

    • Continuity: When Gunther refuses to allow Ross to put up a flyer in Central Perk, Ross says, "How come? Everybody else does". Sure enough, there are hand-drawn flyers all over the post behind the couch. In no other episode do we see flyers on the post.

    • When Ross is talking to Emily on the phone, it can be seen that Emily wears a diamond ring. Ross stops his conversation with Emily to talk with Joey. However, when he gets back to Emily, on the second shot of hers, there is no diamond ring on her finger. The next shot, she has the ring again.

    • Goof: Danny leaves his mail slot open.

    • Goof: When Chandler and Monica are kissing on the chair, Chandler's hand is by his side. When the camera angle changes, his hand is on Monica's leg.

    • Goof: When Ross is moving out of his apartment, the phone on the charger keeps disappearing and reappearing.

    • Goof: When the girls are discussing cremating the coat, Rachel is standing in front of a mirror. In the reflection of the laptop, the computer is turned on. When you see the actual laptop behind Phoebe, it is turned off.

    • Goof: When Rachel and Monica are apologizing to Danny, the whole wall shakes when he closes his door the second time.

  • QUOTES (12)

    • Monica (about Phoebe's fur coat): Don't get too attached, she's having it cremated.
Rachel: Phoebe, honey, I know you're quirky and I get a big kick out of it, in fact we all do, actually. But if you destroy a coat like this, that is like a crime against nature. No, not nature, fashion.

    • Phoebe: Oh, I hate this. Everything's changing.
Chandler: I know, we're losing Ross. Joey said 'hence.'

    • Monica: (Looking for her waffle iron) Here it is... right underneath a can of bug bomb. I wonder if the best place to put something that cooks food is underneath a can of poison.

    • Monica: Look, I'm not happy about this either, but if Ross says he's happy then we're just going to have to keep our feelings about Emily to ourselves. Are you cool with that?
Joey: No, but I'm an actor, I'll act cool. Probably be some of the hardest acting I've ever done. Maybe I'll play it with a mustache.

    • Joey: (About Chandler & Monica kissing in the living room, while he's in his bedroom) I can hear that!
Monica: (To Chandler) Rachel's at work.
      (Monica and Chandler quickly leave.)
Joey: I can still hear you!

    • Joey: (About catching Monica and Chandler kissing) Hey, hey, hey! None of that. Not while you're living under my roof.

    • Joey: Hey, ya know Ross, I think I kinda understand why I kinda lost it today.
      Ross: You do, huh?
Joey: Yeah you ,um, well, I'm an actor, right? So I gotta keep my emotions right at the surface, ya know. See what I'm saying? I gotta lot of balls in the air. Ya know what I mean? It's tough! Guys like me, ya know, you wander around, you're alone...
Ross: What are you talking about?
      Joey: (Pause) I'm not sure.

    • Phoebe: Why would my mother send me a fur? Doesn't she know me but at all?! Plus, I have a perfectly fine coat that no innocent animal suffered to make!
Chandler: Yeah, just some 9 year old Filipino kids who worked their fingers bloody for 12 cents an hour.
      (Phoebe stares at him wide-eyed)
That didn't happen, I made that up!

    • Ross: Pheebs are you wearing fur?
Phoebe: Okay, let's get some perspective, people. It's not like I'm wearing a seeing-eye dog coat!

    • Monica: So basically, this is a getting-rid-of-everything-Rachel-ever-used sale.
Ross: Touched, used, sat on, slept on.
Gunther: (Eavesdropping) I'll take it all.

    • Chandler: Aren't you supposed to be at an audition for another hour?
Joey: Well, I'm sorry if I'm not a middle-aged black woman!

    • Ross: I've been given the gift of time!
Chandler: You know, that's funny, because last Christmas I was given the gift of space. We should put them together and make a continuum.

  • NOTES (6)

    • Joey: (Puts on Phoebe's fur coat) What do you think?
Chandler: You're on in five, Ms. Minnelli.

Liza Minnelli is an Academy Award and Tony Award-winning American actress and singer.
