Goof: When Mary Ellen is having a martini, we can see her eating both the olives in her drink but in the next shot her glass is shown again with the two olives still in it.
Trivia: It was stated in this episode that Ross had a recurring nightmare that Monica was going to eat him and that he had to go to therapy for it.
Factual Error: Ross says there is a page with a circus in Where's Waldo, but the girl is really looking at Waldo on the beach. Also, that Waldo book does not even have a circus themed page in it.
Continuity: We never see the giant stuffed gorilla in a tutu again. It's probably stored in the same place as Chandler and Joey's gaudy friendship bracelets, Monica's dollhouse, Phoebe's pink bicycle with the training wheels, Joey's drum set and Chandler and Monica's Ms. Pac-man arcade game. In fact, the only oddball item introduced in an episode that still remained was the giant dog that Ross bought back from the repo men for Joey and Joey re-gifted to Chandler. Of course, it was relegated to the balcony, which is pretty close to simply disappearing. We don't want to even talk about the chick and the duck.
Goof: When Rachel unsuccessfully tries swinging Emma from side to side to stop the crying, Rachel says Emma has been crying for hours. The baby started crying after Ross ran out to buy more diapers. Yet Ross still hasn't returned.
Goof: Before Rachel wakes up Emma, she is asleep wearing a pink hat. However when the camera angle changes, Emma is wearing a white hat.
Trivia: In this episode, the only one who can stop Emma from crying is her Aunt Monica. Ironically in "The One with the Baby on the Bus," Monica is the only person near whom her nephew Ben always cries.
Goof: Rachel's hair is several inches longer than at the end of the previous episode although it is supposed to be a direct continuation.
Continuity: Ross's birthday is inconsistent. In "The One Where Emma Cries" Ross says his birthday is October 18th. Also, in "The One with Five Steaks and an Eggplant" (which aired October 19th) Ross is taken to the Hootie and the Blowfish concert on his birthday. However, in "The One with George Stephanopoulos", Joey and Chandler buy Rangers' tickets to celebrate Ross's birthday on October 20th, and Ross says that his birthday was seven months ago, implying his birthday is in March. Furthermore, in "The One with Joey's New Girlfriend" Ross tells Gunther his birthday is in December.
Continuity: In the coffee house, when Ross and Joey are having a fight about Joey's proposal to Rachel, Ross does the "quote gesture" with his hands and Joey says he doesn't what this means. But in "The One with the Secret Closet" Joey used it himself when talking to Chandler, in the scene where Chandler asks him to bring a bobby pin to pick the closet's lock. Joey also understood what it means in "The One with Rachel Date" when Ross talks about Rachel's date with an "actor".
Continuity: In the previous episode, outside of Rachel's hospital room you could see the waiting room. In this episode however, all you see is a wall.
Continuity: Wouldn't Monica realize that the ring Rachel is wearing is her grandmother's ring, and therefore belonging to Ross and not Joey? She was very familiar with it when Ross gave it to Emily in Season 4's "The One with the Worst Best Man ever". Of course, if she had recognized it, as she should have, it would have sent this episode in an entirely different direction.
Continuity: When Chandler hears that Rachel took her breast out he asked what it looked like but he had already seen them in "The One with the Boobies".
Goof: When Ross notices Rachel is wearing the engagement ring and Rachel pretends she doesn't understand what he is getting at, Rachel's hair keeps alternating between down and behind her shoulders whenever the camera angle changes.
Goof: At the end when Ross sees the ring on Rachel's hand, Ross and Rachel's hands are interlinked. But when the shot changes, Rachel's hand is resting on top of Ross' and are no longer interlinked. This shot changes several times and their hand position alternates as well.
Goof: When Phoebe runs up to Ross to congratulate him on the engagement, Ross has a sandwich in his hand. When they shoot to Ross, he's not holding the sandwich and you see him pick it up.
Goof: At the end of the episode, when Joey is talking with Rachel and Ross, the door to their room is closed at first but later shows that it is open.
Trivia: Cliff is never mentioned again after this episode.
Trivia: In "The One Where Old Yeller Dies" when Ross tells Rachel what he has planned for their life together, he says they'll have two children, a boy and girl. He also says he hopes the girl will come first so that Ben wouldn't feel competitive. He also wanted to name the girl Emily which is pretty close to Emma.
Trivia: After Rachel has the baby and Emma is being passed around to all of them, Chandler is the only one not to hold her, even though he is her uncle.
