NBC (ended 2004)

  • Season 9 Episode 23: The One in Barbados (1)

  • Goof: When Phoebe, Rachel, Chandler, and Monica arrive in Barbados, it is raining heavily, however, all of the friends enter the hotel completely dry and without umbrellas. Also, later when Mike arrives at the hotel, rain can be seen through the window behind Phoebe and David, but Mike is completely dry.
Note: It's entirely possible that they took a cab or ferry service from the airport and got out of the vehicle inside a covered entranceway (common to many hotels). When Monica and Chandler enter, for example, you can see that it is from a walled, dry walkway with the rain in the background.

  • Trivia: In this episode Rachel steals a name tag from the pharmacist convention with the name Kate Miller on it. Kate Miller was the name of Joey's love interest in Season 3, played by Dina Meyer.

  • Season 9 Episode 22: The One with the Donor

  • Goof: When Ross gets stuck in the office, he calls Joey looking for Charlie, despite the fact that he saw Charlie leave the coffee house with Rachel to go shopping.

  • Trivia: At the end of the episode when Chandler is talking to Zack in his office, there is a frame in the hallway behind Chandler with the Japanese hiragana symbol. The Japanese symbol, "me", means sight, eye, viewpoint, or experience, which alludes to a motivational office slogan in this case.

  • Goof: When Ross was trying to get out of the room, he could have just walked around the front of the desk instead of trying to get past the professor.

  • Goof: How did Charlie not notice that Rachel said that she liked Joey, instead of Phoebe? Their voices are very different.

  • Continuity: While talking with Chandler and Ross in the coffeehouse about Chandler and Monica's inability to conceive, Joey mentions not knowing the meaning of surrogacy. This is very hard to believe, given that Phoebe was the surrogate for Frank Jr. and Alice's kids earlier in the series.
Note: That's not necessarily so. At no time does Phoebe refer to herself as a "surrogate". She merely states that she's going to carry Frank and Alice's baby--"I'm just the oven. It's totally their bun..."

  • Goof: Zack asks Monica for a coaster. However, when he stands up to go to the bathroom, and the camera angle changes, his glass is on the table, not the coaster.

  • Goof: When Monica, Chandler, and Zack are all eating dinner, Zack's fork is in his hand, then it's on the table, and then in his hand again.

  • Season 9 Episode 21: The One with the Fertilit...

  • Trivia: The words Joey had memorized for Days of Our Lives, fronto-temporal-zygomatic craniotomy, actually refer to a craniotomy where a simple and safe procedure is performed without any instrumentation or plating techniques in which the dissection distance is shortened and there is a wider, shallower operating field. Joey believes it means someone gets attacked by a bear.

  • Trivia: The word Joey didn't know the meaning of:
    adjective [ak-ruh-moh-nee-uh s]
Caustic, stinging, or bitter in nature, speech, behavior, etc..

  • Continuity: In this episode its shown that Charlie has not been to New York before. However in "The One with Ross's Grant" she talks to her ex-boyfriend, Benjamin Hobart (Greg Kinnear) about them being at a restaurant in New York a few years ago.

  • Magna Doodle: "Happy Birthday Gizzy 5-1-91" with a drawing of a lion.

  • Continuity: At the start of this episode the gang is talking about what happened at the soap opera roof party the previous night. However, the previous episode did not end with the party, but with Chandler, Monica and Phoebe attending a performance of the one-woman show, presumably the night after the soap opera party. The plot seems to have jumped forward and backwards in time.

  • Continuity: Monica says to Chandler that they have been trying to have a baby for over a year, but they only decided to try for a baby at the hospital when Emma was being born and that was less than a year ago. Emma hasn't even had her first birthday, yet.

  • Goof: Phoebe rips Rachel's gift certificate into four parts, however, the taped-up certificate Rachel hands the receptionist was torn into eight pieces.

  • Season 9 Episode 20: The One with the Soap Ope...

  • Continuity: At the rooftop party, Monica spots a soap opera star and exclaims, "Oh, leather pants! Have mercy!". However, in "The One with All the Resolutions" when Ross asks the gang what they honestly think of his new leather pants, everyone, including Monica, says they don't like them.

  • Goof: The gang knows about the rooftop party, so when Joey comes into Monica and Chandler's apartment wearing a bathrobe, Monica says, "The games over. Take off your robe!". The only problem is, Joey is bare-legged. In other words, even if he was trying to deceive them, they could at least tell that he's not wearing any pants.

  • Trivia: Ross refers to the professors he's supposed to show around campus as probably being "a couple of old windbags wearing tweed jackets with suede elbow patches". Monica points out that Ross has leather elbow patches, to which Ross replies, "These aren't suede!". Interestingly enough, Ross turns out to be right, at least in the case of the male professor. Professor Spafford's jacket is tweed and his elbow patches are indeed suede.

  • Continuity: At the rooftop party, in the background, the entire skyline of New York is lit up, adding to the party-like atmosphere. However, in other episodes with scenes on the rooftop such as "The One Where They're Up All Night" or "The One with the Ballroom Dancing", there is only a smattering of lights on in background buildings.
