Continuity: Take a look at Joey's eyebrows. In the previous episode he had them waxed, which occurred 5 days earlier as stated by Rachel. But in this episode his eyebrows are thick and bushy. There is no way he could have regrown his eyebrows in 5 days.
Goof: When Mike and Phoebe are talking about getting rid of the baby rats, Phoebe puts the box on the coffee table. When the camera angle changes to Mike, the box is back in her lap.
Goof: When Ross and Chandler race to Ross's apartment, they do so to stop Joey from making his move on the nanny. Presumably if Joey had not followed the nanny, they would all still be at Rachel's party. Why then, has the nanny arranged for her girlfriend to turn up, and for her to leave for the night? She didn't know Ross would be there until he arrives a few minutes previously.
Goof: In the scene where Monica tells Rachel that somebody got her shoes as a birthday gift, Rachel sits on the sofa next to Monica to open the box. When they see the rats in the box, Monica and Rachel jumps off the sofa. However, right in the next shot Monica is sitting on the sofa quite in the same position she was in before.
It is revealed in this episode that Chandler's job is Statistical Analysis and Data Reconfiguration. He also mentioned his job for the first time in Season 8 episode 21, The One with The Cooking Class.
Continuity: Rachel tells Gavin she has been working at Ralph Lauren for five years. But she got the job in "The One with Rachel's Inadvertent Kiss" which was near the end of season five, meaning she has worked there for almost four years.
Continuity: In this episode Rachel says she was going back to work in two weeks, but in "The One with the Male Nanny" she said she was going back in four weeks and that was in November. This episode takes place in January, eight weeks later.
Goof: It seems highly unlikely that Ross and Rachel would not have their daughter, Emma, on Christmas.
Trivia: In the previous episode, the black and white vase under the mirror in Ross's apartment was on the table behind the lounge.
Goof: A major part of this episode centers around Rachel giving her phone number to a man named Bill who she meets at a bar, and then worrying about how Ross will react when Bill calls their apartment. However, when Bill asked Rachel for her phone number, he made it clear he would be calling her a little later that night if he and his friend found any good parties. We know from "The One with Joey's New Brain" that Rachel definitely has a cell phone she carries with her. Why then would Rachel give Bill her home number rather than her cell phone number (even if the Ross situation was not a factor)?
Goof: As Rachel's sister comes out from the back of Ross's apartment to say that she has been dumped by her boyfriend, a microphone is visible at the top of the screen as she walks towards the sofa to sit down.
Goof: In the scene where Rachel and her sister are fighting, a few seconds before they break the first plate, the flaps on the box Chandler is holding are open. However seconds later the flaps are now closed with Chandler still holding the box.
Goof: When Chandler breaks Monica's dishes, Emma's carseat rotates and then switches back between shots.
Goof: In the scene where Rachel and her sister are fighting and Phoebe says to Joey, "Should we stop this?," Joey is mouthing the same line right before saying his own line.
Goof: In the scene where Rachel is introducing her sister to the rest of the gang in Monica's apartment, there are napkins on the plates on the table. However in the next shot nothing is on the plates.
Goof: When Chandler puts the box of plates down on the chair, the top flaps are down. When he knocks it off, the box is open.
Goof: When Rachel and her sister argue and fight, the guest bedroom door keeps opening and closing throughout the scene.
Goof: When Monica is showing everyone how they should cut the food without touching the plates, the camera first shows her holding up the knife and the food. But after the camera comes back on her after quickly showing Amy and Rachel, she is no longer holding up the food or the knife.
Goof: When Ross and Rachel are talking at the beginning, she stands up and puts her hands on her hips. When the camera angle changes to Ross, her arms hang loose.
