  • We will miss you

    9.0
I begin to watch the show just by curiosity, rumor said it was good. But i would never imagine that I would be so addicted to it. The plot was good, the cast was excellent and what about the characters ! I could re-watch the 5 season just for Walter Bishop. I was a very very good show we will miss it.
  • Fringe was one of the best shows on TV

    10
Fringe was one of the best shows on TV. It was not merely one of the best SF series on the tube. It was one of the best shows of any genre.

Sad to say many viewers had the attention spans of gnats. They whined incessantly all through Season 1.

But in retrospect it was clear that the series creators were merely pacing themselves, easing their way into the "alternate universe" macro level story arc by first tackling "freak of the week" stories.

They also appear to have learned from their mistakes in "Lost," when they themselves became partially lost.
  • A fantastic show

    10
This is a classic Abrams show, great charaters, mystique, drama, great actors. But opposite to Lost it had great mysteries, but all was resolved. Not overwhelmed by action, and at times very slow paced. But great store. Noble takes his character to perfection. Joshua Jackson is great too.
  • Fringe's Evolution

    10
Fringe started as a series of self contained episodes with a few long running stories to form an arc for the show but soon developed into something entirely different. The mythology of the show has drawn criticism but the emotional depth and quality of writing never dipped for me, you cared for these characters and it was just so well made, there was no other show to compare it too. Definately the best sci fi show of 2000s and deserves its comparisons to the x files. Walter was obviously the stand out character but anna torv and joshua jackson were fanatastic and showed good chemistry. I really am going to miss this show and I dont say that often, one of a kind.....
  • So Sad :C

    10
The show is over and all the episodes have been stuffed with funny, action packed, and loving moments. The personality of these amazing people are just wonderful! Especially Walter! Hopefully we can have a Fringe movie!
  • Awesomely Awesome

    9.5
Since the title awesome was taken. The only Abrams show that was good all the way through. SO glad it ended, especially with a great last season.

  • The Best show I have seen In a long time should not have been cancelled

    9.5
I thought Fringe was one of the best shows I have seen in very long time. I was so sad when it ended. My initial question had been was part of it filmed in Toronto. I saw the road way I took to work everyday. also some of it may have been filmed in US but I know or believe that the last few were filmed in Vancouver's Stanley Park. Also there is a building in Vancouver that was shown as the Fringe Head quarters from the alternate universe. I was so excited when i saw it. All I can say is the cast of Fringe is/was incredible. I hope they make a movie. My hat off to the actors/ writers everyone involved. I feel like I have lost a good friend . Thank goodness for DVD's
  • The best Sci-Fi TV series of the last 10 years !

    10
Fringe is the best Sci-Fi TV series of the last 10 years. In my opinion a serial better than, included, Stargate SG-1, is worthy of a continuation.
  • PLEASE DON'T LET IT END!!!!

    10
WHY???? Is the word which screams from every fibre of my being with the tragic news that Season 5 will be the finale to FRINGE. It is simply one of the most stunning shows I have ever laid my eyes on and I've seen some splendor let me tell you. (Firefly, Babylon 5, Farscape, Legend of The Galactic Heroes and of course the legendary Blakes 7).

This series had so much to offer and the actors were brilliant. Having to act out 2 or 3 roles in a single episode is seriously talented to say the least and I'll be searching high and low for there other performances. Mind blowing multi-dimensional series with enough depth to satiate even the most hardcore of sci-fi fan. To my favourite character of all however.... WALTER I WILL MISS YOU DEARLY!!!!

This series wasn't just great on a science fiction level, but also on an acting and drama level and I think that's one of the main aspects that makes this show more appealing to more than just a target audience. In some instances it's almost like the X-Files in terms of interlinking plots and threads throughout the show, but on the larger picture it expanded far beyond the X-Files in terms of characters with much greater depth and incorporated the challenges of being human amidst what the strange life of Fringe threw at the characters.

Overall I honestly gave it 10/10, there's simply no complaints to be made, all actors made a superb effort, even the background characters where amazing. A well done series.
  • Good bye to my favourite show ;(

    10
I love sci-fi shows, I've watched many of them but Fringe has been my favourite since day 1. I will miss it.
  • Amazed and Sad

    10
Started watching it maybe a month ago, and went through all five seasons. What can I say, a really, really good show. I liked all of the characters especially Walter. I like the way he used to tell things, especially when he plans on telling two things. Everyone thinks it's all about the case, and they're somewhat right, the first one always is about the case, but I like when he finishes with the first thing and then pauses. When they ask him, what's the second thing you wanted to say. He replies with something really unrelated to the case, and it's always something strange like I'm peckish or something.

Great show, I like the ending, they could have wrote many more things and not ended it like they did, but that's life.
  • sooooooo wonderful

    10
This is the best love the players and how they flowing theme is so well written until the end... I wonder if Michael could pop the head of the feerless ... I suppose he did in the show
  • Thanks Fox

    10
I can't believe that they ended the show the way they did! They could have shown alot more in Season 5.. there's endless possible episodes to write!!!!!! I think FOX thought they weren't getting enough stupid. Ive followed this show since day 1 and bought every season and watched them over and over, it was the best show my Friday nights suck! Thanks Fox
  • Another good show, gone.

Hoping that something comes along to replace it.
  • Final full with errors - Spoiler

I'm desapointed with the Fringe ends...

It is a complete slap in the face of fans...

If the Observers did not exist... Peter should be alive IN THE OTHER universe... because september did not distracted Walternative and he found out the cure... eliminating the reason why Walter crossed the universe...

If the time was reset... it should show peter living in the other universe with his family and walter living with a big cientist in this word and not a crazy guy...

Put the end with Peter and Etta was totaly non sense...

It pity end for a great show...
  • Can't understand - spoiler

    10
If Walter went in the future after the Observers came how would he prevent them from existing if the world was already full of them??
  • the best

it s the best series i have watched this year
  • A friend to keep close...

    10
Even though I jumped in with season 3, the characters, the plot and the shared world quickly grew on me and I was hooked. Such an interesting and peculiar show; a friend we could get with each week and share an adventure! Big thanks go to all the actors, writers, and other crew members that brought us an amazing story that transcends time and space; have shown us how powerful Love is and kept us on the edge of our seats until the finale. There's so much one could say, but in the end, we have to say good-bye - Fringe, you'll be sorely missed!
  • What I understood

    9.5
First of all this show is awesome. I almost cried in the finale. Great job.

    What I understood...

Well peter received the letter containing the tulip. This means that later peter went to the lab to look for walter and found the tape labelled "for peter". This means that walter and september were planning all along the plan before the invasion. Walter sent the letter to peter before the invasion.

The timeline only reset itself at that time of invasion. This means that september still saved peter from drowning. September and the other observors started getting feelings towards humans due to the fact that the observor boy was sent to ceize the existance of the observors we know. The observors we know seized to exist and they did not invade. The scientists still created observors but with feelings. Therefore they did not invade but they still interfered with the timeline and save peter and create this whole paradox to stop the invasion.

Lets hope this shows demise makes room for something on par with the X-Files. PLEASE!?!
  • Thanks for 5 seasons

My wife and I are hard-core sci-fi fans. "Fringe" satisfied us every Friday night

with an excellent plot, unendng suspense, special effects, Walter, Peter, & Oliva Peter, and heartwarming heros. This was a very special sci-fi series that had no equal.
  • The world where anything happens

Its a shame we have to say goodbye to such a world.
  • The best sci-fi ever said goodbye...

For the last 5 years I've been waiting for every episode with joy and excitement. The crew, the plot, the events, the effects and production.. Fringe has never let us down.

Thank you all for the best sci-fi series ever!
  • sad to see it go

I think Fringe is one of the best shows i've watched for a very long time. It has suspense, romance and the right amount of humour. The cast chosen for this show are perfect. I am going to miss this show very much.
  • One if the best shows ever comes to a satisfying end

    9.5
Fringe is without a doubt one of the best shows ever. It had everything you could wish for: intruiging storylines, a superb cast, and the perfect mix between suspense, humor and drama.

While I will certainly miss it, at least its finale brought closure to the major plotline of the story (something that's rare these days in television), even if it wasn't entirely "correct" in regard of timeline related events.

Also, to those that are saying the timeline reset at the wrong time and that Peter would have drowned in the lake because September wouldn't have saved him: actually, Peter would have survived, BUT in the other universe.

Our Walter would never have kidnapped Peter in the first place if the Observers didn't exist. Walter only crossed over because Walternate's cure for Peter's disease failed because Walternate was (accidentally) interrupted by September in the first place. If September didn't exist, he couldn't interrupt Walternate, hence Walternate would have seen that his cure was ready, hence Peter would have lived (in the other universe).

It doesn't explain why or how Peter crossed over to our side, and it opens up another major plothole (namely that the Fringe teams probably wouldn't have been assembled because Walter's trip to the other universe wouldn't have caused the Fringe events in the first place), but it explains why Peter is alive.

How he then ended up with Olivia remains a mystery, and could be "blamed" on fate I guess. Seeing that Michael seemed to know everything that would happen (Olivia saving him, Walter taking him into the future even after September offered to do it, the whole fate thing doesn't even seem too far fetched.

TL;DR version: Great show, good ending, Peter would have lived either way...
  • More Than a Show

    9.5
I discovered Fringe last April as I was finishing up my last bit of time at film school. It was the show I watched in those final months of finishing my own film that I found a thought provoking, emotional, character driven series that ended up being a nostalgia for me. I will always associate Fringe with the best part of my life. It's more than a show to me; it's a symbol of where I've been and where I hope to one day be. I can't express my respect enough for the creators, actors, and crew of this show. They've created something beautiful, and that's rare in science fiction; let alone television.
  • Saying goodbye...

    10
Yeah, I know, all the good things must come to an end.. But I'll stick with denial.

I'll miss all of the weard/creepy Fringe events, Astrid's nicknames ( Aspirin, Astro) , the challenges about their characters and relationships. It was really one of the coolest shows ever. (the other was Firefly)
  • Some faults but a brilliant experience

    9.5
So it is over... One of the best series of all time, which has been laborating with all kind of physics, metaphysics and so on, and done it quite well.

I was hooked from the first episode to the last, and the series and its writers have been able to renew themselves instead of, as most series, get lost on the way...

However, one thing annoys me greatly, and it has for the last three or four episodes of the series... If the master plan is to reset time and thereby change the course of history so the observers never exists... Then September never would have saved Peter as a child, so Peter would not exist either, as well as a lot of other people and events that lead up to Peter and Oliva coupling and getting Etta.

But on the other hand, as an experienced sci-fi viewer I understand the difficulties with having the time paradox in mind at all time, especially in a five season long series, so the above mentioned fault only drops my rating with half a point, in every other aspect this was a brilliant production.

Thank you for five good years.
  • Goodbye to a great show
