From Freezer to Furnace

Show Summary

From Freezer to Furnace is a documentary TV series that looks at cultures living and surviving every day in extreme weather conditions. TV personality John Sanders narrates the series, starting with a trip to Lake Woerthersee, Austria, where a group of Europeans secluded from civilization live off the land and survive blistering icy winters. Sanders then heads to California's Mohave dessert and films an Indian reservation where residents survive summer days reaching 104 degrees without electricity. The show also checks out ancient Incas from Ecuador and Eskimos living close to the North Pole. One trip into the Amazon rainforest shows a group of people who has never seen white people or electronic equipment, and some of Sander's crew turn ill after exposure to jungle's humid temperatures. At the end of the season, From Freezer to Furnace tackles the icy terrain of Antarctica in search of a lost civilization rumored to have lived in caves underneath the ice.
