Episode Summary

Now that Stephanie has officially retired as a Honeybee troop member, she passes the torch to Michelle, who is finally old enough to join. The 5-year-old is determined to earn her first badge for her cooking talents, but how will the family react when it is time to sample some of her homemade treats? Meanwhile, DJ desperately wants to spend the upcoming summer in Spain for a study abroad program, but Danny has enough trouble letting go of his children when they are in the same country, let alone halfway across the world. Budget cuts cost Jesse his spot on The Ranger Joe Show, so he decides to set his sights on scoring a record deal, only to feel like a failure as he realizes that as a husband and father of two, he still hasn't "broken out" as a musician. Will his shame prompt him to settle for less?moreless

I didn't care for this episode very much because there was to much going on in it. With Jesse being fired from the Ranger Joe show music is his prime focus then. Fish records tells Jesse he isn't good enough to have a hit. Becky gets some of the Beach boys to come over and try to cheer Jesse up. Letting Jesse record one of their songs "Forever" Jesse produces a single and presents it to Fish Records.moreless

    • As of this episode, Stephanie has passed down her Honeybee title to Michelle, just like D.J. did Stephanie back in season 1. Edit
    • This is the third time the Beach Boys (Mike Love and Bruce Wilson for this episode) showed up in person at the Tanner house. The first time was "Beach Boy Bingo", where all 5 Beach Boys appear, and the second was "Our Very First Telethon", where only Mike Love appears. Edit

    • Mike: Hey, when do we eat? D.J.: 30 minutes or less. Edit
    • Joey: (after singing Forever with the Beach Boys) Man, that is such a cool song. I sang that to Becky at our wedding. I'll tell you, if I had a hit song like Forever, I bet you Fat Fish Music would sign us like that. Bruce: You want it, you got it. Leon, please pass the cole slaw. Jesse: You really mean it? We can record Forever? Mike: Sure, if Becky keeps cooking up good food like this. Rebecca: Oh, well, I'll give you the phone number--I mean recipe. Edit
    • Michelle: It's called Pudding Surprise. Rebecca: Ooh, Michelle, that sounds delicious! What's the surprise? Joey: (tastes the pudding, looks repulsed) I think it's cheese. Michelle: Surprise! D.J.: Michelle, you put cheese in the pudding? Michelle: Velveeta, and that's not all. Danny: Mmmm......and olives. Edit
