Jesse and the Rippers have just finished another summer of touring, and Forever has hit the Hot 100 Singles. Michelle and Stephanie have had a boring summer, but are excited when a postcard from D.J. mentions that she will be bringing home a big surprise when she arrives home from Barcelona. In an hour, D.J's flight arrives at San Francisco International Airport. At the airport, the surprise turns out to be D.J.'s boyfriend Steve Hale, who was also in the summer study program. Michelle and Stephanie were hoping that the surprise would be better than this and that D.J. would at least act like she missed them, because she was gone for weeks. Still at the airport, the two girls meet members of the International Young People's Choir, and the choir is going to Auckland, New Zealand. Terry, the Australian member of the choir, invites the girls to come aboard the airplane and meet the choir, so they take him up on the invitation because they believe that D.J. wants nothing to do with them because all she cares about is Steve. Before Michelle and Stephanie can get back off of the airplane, it takes off. Airport security alerts Danny that Michelle and Stephanie are on their way to New Zealand, and nobody can turn the airplane around, but the girls will be on the next flight back to San Francisco. Danny is relieved when his youngest daughters arrive back in San Francisco. Later, at home, the girls explain to D.J. that they thought she didn't want to see them because of Steve, and apologizes for ignoring her sisters, then explains that the fact that she has Steve for a boyfriend does not mean that she no longer cares about them.
