Michelle Elizabeth Tanner
With this episode, the writers have now officially given each of the Tanner girls an episode where they mourn the fact that they don't have a mother. This happened to DJ in the pilot, then Stephanie in Season 4's Slumber Party, and now Michelle in this episode.
In this episode, Michelle has a heart-to-heart with Becky about what she needs to do to get a new mommy. Given that Michelle is so young here, and the subject matter is very serious, I'm surprised Becky didn't talk about this with Danny. He was clearly oblivious to Michelle's emotions throughout all of this.
Teddy: (when Michelle talks about how she doesn't have a mommy) You should get one. Mommies use fabric softener on your pajamas.
Michelle: My daddy does that.
Teddy: Mommies always have lots of candy in their purse.
Michelle: My daddy keeps Wet Wipes in his wallet.
Teddy: Mommies wear makeup and pretty dresses.
Michelle: You got me there.
Teddy: It's too bad you don't have a mommy. You're missing something good.
Michelle: Yeah, you're right. I need a mommy.
Michelle: How do people fall in love?
Becky: (uses herself and Jesse as an example) Well, I fell in love with your Uncle Jesse over a romantic candlelight dinner for two, with really romantic music, and we shared a kiss.
Michelle: (teasingly) Ooh!
Becky: Eh, it was just a little good-night kiss...that lasted three hours.
Michelle: Will I ever get a new mommy?
Danny: Well, I hope so.
Michelle: Have you met the school nurse? She's very hot!
Danny: See, what makes a family is people who love each other and take care of one another. You have a very special family: you have a daddy, and an Uncle Jesse and Aunt Becky, and a Joey.
Michelle: I bet nobody in school has a Joey!
Michelle: I wish I had a mommy.
Danny: Well, I know you don't remember, but you had a wonderful mommy. And she loved you very, very much.
Michelle: It's no fair, all the other kids have mommies.
Danny: Well, I know it may seem like everyone else has a mommy. But honey, the truth is, some people just have a mommy, or they just have a daddy, or a grandma and grandpa or an aunt and uncle. There's all different kinds of families.
Michelle: Daddy, guess what, guess what, guess what?
Danny: What, what, what?
Michelle: Miss Wiltrout says a clean room is a happy room!
Danny: Sounds like my kind of teacher!
Michelle: I've got a secret!
Teddy: What? Tell me!
Michelle: My daddy and Miss Wiltrout are going to fall in love.
Teddy: They are not!
Michelle: They are too. I'm getting a new mommy!
Miss Wiltrout: You know, Michelle really is doing very well in school. You don't need to suck up like this.
Danny: Hey, we Tanners are not suck-ups. Goody two-shoes, maybe, but not suck-ups!
Danny: Miss Wiltrout and I are not in love.
Michelle: Then you better start kissing!
Danny: Michelle, your teacher and I aren't going to kiss, and we're not going to fall in love.
Michelle: Now I'll NEVER get a new mommy!
Michelle: Okay, Daddy, now be polite and don't talk about yourself!
Danny: Honey, I do not talk about myself...okay, maybe I do a little, but that's only because when I was a kid, I didn't have many friends...
Michelle: How come nobody kisses my daddy?
Becky: Um...well, Michelle, that's a good question. I don't know. I mean, your daddy's a great guy. Okay, so maybe he does like to talk a lot, especially about himself...but all your daddy needs to do is find a woman who loves to talk and needs a housekeeper! Now I'm sure she's out there. And when your daddy finds her, they'll fall in love, and then you'll have a new mommy. Do you understand, sweetheart?
Michelle: Yes, I do. My daddy needs help.
Michelle: Let's play house.
Teddy: Okay. I'll be the daddy.
Michelle: And I'll be Uncle Jesse!
Teddy: Uncle Jesse? You should be the mommy!
Michelle: I don't know how to be a mommy.
Teddy: Why not?
Michelle: Because I don't have a mommy.
Jesse: HeHe...Vulture lives.
Jesse: Joey, get me down!
Bandmates: (thinking he's singing) Joey, get him down!
According to Becky, she fell in love with Jesse over a romantic candlelight dinner with romantic music, and the night ended with the two of them sharing "a good-night kiss that lasted three hours." This is most likely referencing the Season 2 episode Little Shop of Sweaters, where Becky finally agreed to let Jesse take her out, and they shared their very first date on Valentine's Day.
