Episode Summary

Now that his new band, Hot Daddy and the Monkey Puppets, is officially underway, Jesse invites Becky and the twins to accompany him on a trip for their very first weekend gig. The group bunks in a hotel that Jesse used to stay at years ago, when he was a younger band player, but now that he is a grown man with a wife and kids of his own, will the youthful memories have the same effect? Meanwhile, major sparks fly between DJ and one of Jesse's grungy young band members, and when Danny expresses his discomfort about them being together, DJ ends up making a very uncharacteristic decision.moreless

Who was the Episode MVP ?

  • Good example

I liked this episode for several reasons. First of all it shows what we remember as being something wonderful is not always as wonderful as we remember. Jesse had a dose of reality on that when he took Becky and the kids to his favorite place to stay when he was touring with the Rippers. The place turned out to be a dive.

Second is that though DJ may have gone about letting Danny know about Viper she was right in defending him because Danny was judging a book by its cover. Trust in your kids decision making is important expecially when you know you've raised them well.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Becky reminds Jesse that her mother initially wasn't happy when she started dating Jesse, but that doesn't seem quite right. First of all, Becky's parents didn't even meet Jesse until the night before their wedding in Season 4, and when they did, Becky's mother was clearly delighted with him. If anybody had a problem with Jesse, it was Becky's father, so this comment from Becky doesn't make sense.

  • QUOTES (8)

    • Michelle: You're dating Viper?
Stephanie: We thought you were dating Mongo.
DJ: Me and Mongo? What are you, insane?
Stephanie: See, this is exactly what happens when you hide your diary.

    • (Rebecca put a quarter in the TV and the bed started vibrating)
Rebecca: If a slot in the TV turns the bed on...(she puts a quarter in the slot on the bed and hears the toilet flush) That's a good thing to know.
Joey: Anyone got change for a twenty?

    • Rebecca: Do you think my mother was happy when I started dating you?
      Jesse: Uh hu.
Rebecca: NO! I had to show her there was more to you than rock-n-roll and a harlay.
DJ: Yeah, there's more to Viper too.
Kimmy: Yeah. Have you seen him in tight jeans?

    • Jesse: Oh my God. I'm starting to sound like my father.
Rebecca: Actually, you're more like my mother.
Jesse: Oh, yeah right. Lke I make dry pot roast and talk back to Matlock.

    • Jesse: Well, I'm about to say something I bet Elvis never said. Let's polka baby.

    • (Steph and Michelle see DJ talking to mongo)
Michelle: DJ's new secret boyfriend is Mongo.
Steph: if they get married she'll be misses Mongo and they'll have mongeese.

    • Jesse: (on phone with danny) Calm down and don't do anything rash (hangs up phone)
Viper: Sorry dude, I didn't know it was your cupcake
Jesse: It had nothing to do with the cupcake dude. You know the rules, no dating my family members.
Viper: There's no rule against that.
Jesse: Oh you're right. All in favor? (Jesse raises his hand) You're outta here!
Viper: You can kick me out of the band, but you can't tell me how to live my life. See ya, pops. Viper walks away
Jesse:Pops?... And give me back my cupcake!!!
(Viper throws the cupcake and nails Jesse in the face)
      Jesse: Thank you...

    • D.J.: Dad, I'm seventeen. You can't tell me who to date.
Danny: I'm not telling you who to date, I'm telling you who not to date.
