Season 7 Episode 4

Tough Love

Aired Friday 9:00 PM Oct 05, 1993 on ABC

  • Trivia

    • When Jesse and Rebecca are in their attic apartment at the end and Jesse lets the bowls of ice cream come barreling out from under his shirt, one of them rolls on the table and lands upside-down, and you can see that the "ice cream" inside doesn't budge.

  • Quotes

    • Danny: Look, I love Nicky and Alex, but they don't listen, they're into everything, and they won't even sleep in their own beds. I mean, I know they're only three, but they could at least be taught to pick up their toys.
Joey: (about the toy that Danny is holding) Danny, that's mine.

    • Michelle: (after the twins wrecked her project) But I told them to stop. Why didn't they listen?
Danny: Well, Michelle, children have to be taught to listen.
      Michelle: Who teaches them?
Danny: Well, usually, it's...the people who are responsible for their growth and well-being.
      Michelle: Who's that?
Danny: Well, in most cultures, I guess it would be...the parents.
Michelle: (turns to Jesse and Rebecca) Way to go.

    • Stephanie: Dad, about this new and unusual dinner...I don't have a problem with the new, but I have some concerns about the unusual.
      Michelle: Does unusual mean gross?
Danny: All right, girls, um...you know how you've been asking for a raise in allowance? Well, how does $2 sound?
Stephanie: Not as good as 5.

    • Danny: (to the kids) All right, now as you all know, Vicky has been working extremely hard on this dinner. So if you happen to see anything new and unusual on your plate...taste it. Experience it. And if you still don't like it, choke it down.
D.J.: Boy, Dad, you've got our mouths watering.
Steve: Yeah. This could be bad.
      Kimmy: I hope there's enough.

  • Notes

  • Allusions

    • Joey: (imitates Gonzo with his baby Gonzo doll) The big guy sat on my nose!

Joey's baby Gonzo doll is probably a reference to the fact that Dave Coulier, the actor playing Joey, was a regular cast member of the Muppet Babies animated series from 1986 to 1991. He usually voiced Baby Animal and Baby Bunsen Honeydew, and he also voiced Baby Bean Bunny, and Statler and Waldorf.
