This episode is my favorate in the series. I really love how there is comidy but also some drama which does create a sense of emotion.

There were a lot of great moments like when the trouble first starts. One of the chracters Ono-D gets real thursty and does something really dumb, he actually opens a container clearly with the bio hazard label and drinks from it releasing god knows what. This guy could almost be clasified as one of dumbest guys on the face of earth for doing something like that, did he think the label was a Pepsi label even a grade schooler would know the difference.

And of coruse how everyone handles the quarentine, unfortunately not very well I sort of felt a little sorry for Soaske because he's doing everything in his power to control and solve the sittuation while everyone else makes it worse by the minute.

There were two funny moments that really stood out. One would have to be the drawing, unfortunately Soaske draws out the winner and that of coruse gets on everyone's last nerve. It was great because the sittuation was a power keg about to explode and of course Soaske was the match. He of course says something he thinks is reasuring but it was actually just plain dumb and then as you guessed it all hell breaks loose. Comic gold.

Another really funny moment was when Misiki wants to hook up with the Tsubaki. But that Tsubaki as usual is stuburn and wants to hook up with Kaname, but fails miserably from Misiki persistance but just the plain fact Kaname doesn't like him. I was thinking get over it Kaname doesn't like you move on, and in the final moments on Earth I don't think there's any time to be chosey.

But I really like those dramatic moments that have formed from the madness like Ren who was the class president charcter's assistant confesses her feelings toward him, Soaske and Kaname are thinking of taking their relationship to the next level, and there is Tokiua that confess her feelings to the Ono-D. I thought that was part of the theme in this epsode is to do what matters before it is too late, because time waits for no man.

But of course it comes down to one of the best twists I've seen which I think is the funniest and sexiest one ever. I think for Soske a tactical retreat is in order.moreless
  • I love this episode. It will keep you laughing 'till the end.

It all starts when Sousuke recieves a strange bottle, from one of his friends a weapons dealer, instead of his gun site. While Sousuke goes to the principals office, one of his classmates opens the bottle, which contained a strange chemical that is tought to be cause sort of biohazard. Sousuke knowing it was airborn locked the class in the room so there wouldn't be further contamination. Later, the class found out that their was a cure, but the problem was that it was enough for only one person. To see who would live they each had to take a piece of paper out of a box...and of ALL the people to win, it had to be Sousuke. When the rest of the kids found out they tried to kill poor Sousuke for the cure.

The ending is really unexpected and hilarious! I feel bad for poor Sousuke. It wasn't him who opened the bottle, why must they always blame him!!!moreless

This eppie is sooo funny! It starts off Sosuke calling his freind a weapons dealer, and askes about a weird bottle he recieved instead of his gun site. It appears to be very dangerous, but in truth all it did was cause fabics to fade off the person\\\'s body. Anyway it was spilled and caused they whole room 2 become a biohazard. Everyone had to put a paper out of a box to see who will win the only vacicne for it. Sosuke ends up pulling the winner and everyone goes insane and tries to kill poor poor Sosuke! Aww. The ending is very shocking dude to Sosuke\\\'s demands of Chidori.Anyway this eppie is a very interesting one to see!!moreless
  • Azumanga Fumoffu

    9.0
This was a big jumble of comedy, action, and drama. When I watch this episode, I can't help but think of Azumanga Daioh, because of the way the characters are drawn with their gaping mouths and strong emotions. Tsubaki gets some star showing here with Kaname, in some last-minute action gags, but we can see the resolution of that a mile away.

Brief character developments happen in the final half of the episode as girls and guys start pairing off. Mizuki finds her first love, Onodera opens up, Ren reveals that she's still single, and Sousuke is very forward in wanting Kaname to do something that isn't a kiss. If the focus of the series were on the romance instead of comedy, this should have happened earlier.

Ren looks really cute when she puts her head down, and hearing Vic Mignogna's voicing of Beart is a treat.

The ending reminds me of a feature movie with the Get Smart gang. If you've seen that one and this episode, you'll know what I mean.

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (After Kaname delivers an inspirational speech, the students comfort each other as Sousuke wakes up.)
Sousuke: What are you people crying for?
Kaname: Quiet! We're all busy reflecting on the human conscience right now. You just stay over there and die!

    • (Voice actor conversation)

      (English dub)
Chris: Hey, Luci, good job, hey that was fun, huh.
Luci: Uh. Yeah, but you're not done yet. You still have another line, Chris Patton.
Chris: Oh wait, there's still more?
Luci: Hello? Turn the page, goofball.

      (English sub)
      Ito! It's over already?
      Seriously?
Give me back my money, Takemoto! Gatou!
      Write, Shimo!

    • Tsubaki: Anyway, what I want to say is, I can't die until I settle my score with you!
      Sousuke: Really?
Tsubaki: That's right, so say your prayers.
      (Tsubaki powers up.)
Tsubaki: Oh life, burst into flames. Show me your final fiery glimmer.
(Tsubaki forms a ball of light and continues posing.)
Tsubaki: Now, I put all my fight into this: Daidomyaku style final secret technique! Rin!
      Mizuki: Wait! (hugs Tsubaki)
      Tsubaki: Huh?
(Sousuke shoots Tsubaki with a rubber bullet.)
      Sousuke: I won.
Kaname: Wow, I have no strength left to yell at you for that.

    • Shinji: I need to get rid of my naughty pictures before I die.

    • Kaname: Hey, I'm scared too, you know. Before I have to die, I would like to at least go to Ohio-ya and eat all the trident-ya that I could, or go to the soba shop in front of the station and gorge myself on super deluxe soba piled high with all the toppings I could want. Then I could die without regrets. That is how I feel.
Shinji: It doesn't cost much to please you.

    • Kaname: Honestly, guns and bombs, fine, but bacteriological weapons?
Tsubaki: What kind of dangerous stuff are you packing, you bastard?
Kyoko: Hey, guns and bombs are dangerous too, you know.

    • Sousuke: Now, do you understand? I'm not giving you instructions simply to save my own life here. As an expert in war, I'm only trying to prevent the situation from getting worse.
      (Class sighs.)
Sousuke: Everyone, please forget your hatred, and don't hold any grudges. That way we can think of our next step. This tragedy isn't anyone's fault.
      Kaname: Sousuke.
Sousuke: You all understand that, right?
(Kaname and the class jump him.)

  • NOTES (2)

    • Closing credits notes: The final episode has just a blank screen and the scrolling credits. It does not feature the closing song, but rather the students continue screaming and running amok. Some of the students jab about hunting Sousuke down.

After the credits, one last scene goes on, but you can read about it in the recap.

    • An alternative title of this episode is: Fifth Period's Hot Spot

  • ALLUSIONS (3)

    • The name of the bacteria is Full Monty Bacteria, this refers to the movie called The Full Monty. The bacteria destroys clothes; the people in the movie just take them off; the result is the same. A similar plot to destroy clothing was done in the Get Smart feature movie The Nude Bomb made in 1980.

    • In the beginning of the episode, Ono D purchased and ate a Bakunetsu God Curry Bread. This is presumably a reference to the Bakunetsu God Finger, the signature move of the God Gundam, of Mobile Fighter G Gundam fame.

    • Tsubaki = Goku?
When Tsubaki challenges Sousuke one last time, he clenches his fists and an aura flares up around him. This is the stance that the warriors in Dragonball Z assume when transforming into Super Saiyans. Tsubaki also assumes a pose where he's holding up a ball of light in his hand. This is like Goku's Spirit Bomb from the same series.
