When Sousuke does not get rattled at all by Kaname's ghost stories, Kaname and Mizuki take Sousuke to an abandoned hospital that's supposedly haunted. That's enough to scare Kyoko, and even Mizuki, who swears she saw someone at the window, but is it enough to scare Sousuke?moreless

This is another one of my favorate episodes in the series. I always have a thing for halloween episodes as long as their done right, mixing horror with comidy is always fun, this is one of the funnest horror comidies I've seen since "Shawn of the Dead".

I really like the setting the episode takes place which is creepy, that abandoned hospital reminds me of the abandoned asylum in the underrated horror film "Session 9". What was really funny was how unfazed Souske is, a person like him I would imagine wouldn't be scared easily. It's funny just how he reacts each and every horror movie sittuation which does nothing for him and it drives Kaiame crazy. Of course my favorate moment was they see a ghostKaiame things it's one of her friends playing a prank and she practically yelling at that ghost to be more scary because as we see even the real deal doesn't scare Souske, it made me laugh my head off. But I really loved the end when Souske confessed to Kaiame about his true fear which is the thought of Kaiame in danger and losing her, I thought that was heartwarming. When it comes to ghosts and monsters we can always get away, hide, or fight them off despite how scary they look. But the threat of losing someone you love is an inexcapable fearmoreless
  • Kaname takes Sousuke to an old abandoned hospital, hoping to scare him and make him show his human side. However, it appears that despite the numerous spooky appearances in the building, nothing can frighten Sousuke...right?moreless

Another classic tale in the Fumoffu series. Kaname spends the majority of the episode trying to expose some kind of fear in Sousuke when he shows no such reaction to her horror stories. It was so entertaining to see Sousuke shoot down every attempt to scare him with a "That's odd" or "It's not like it's a bomb" or "They're just voices". But the clincher for me was the last one, where the girl covered in blood kept saying "Go home" and "Drop dead". What was Sousuke's reaction? "She only has a hammer." At that point I started cracking up, and Kaname's reaction had me rolling on the floor. I mean, she actually started yelling at the ghost to be more scary! The most touching part, though, was when Sousuke admitted to being scared when he thought Kaname was hurt and bleeding. It was such an "Awwww" moment. I just love this episode!moreless
  • Haunted buildings are so much fun! Right, Shaggy?

    "Great"
This episode uses the popular, yet overly done, horror theme of exploring the mystery of a haunted building. However, with the focus on Sousuke's deadpan reaction the episode delivers many gems.

Given the history and popularity of Ringu (The Ring) and Ju-On (The Grudge), I was expecting an episode full of Scary Movie-like horror parodies, but very few even made it on-screen. The ones that did weren't scary at all, maybe from the lack of memorable sound effects or lighting, or not tapping into the CGI resources that were used in the FMP series. Although it's more likely my lack of knowledge of Japanese horror films.

Still, Kaname was a terrific lead as usual. There were few annoying flashbacks, and a brief character development payoff at the end.

    • (A child covered in blood and bandages appears and disappears) Sousuke: That's odd. Kaname: (Scared) Odd? Odd, you say? Is that it? Don't you have anything else to say?! A child was just... Sousuke: That is why I said it was odd. Kaname: You're scared, right? Right?! Sousuke: But it was just a child. A child cannot defeat me, for I am familiar with many kinds of weaponry.

    • (Outside the abandoned hospital) Kaname: What is it Mizuki? Mizuki: (Scared) Over there... that window over there. A weird lady was looking down at us... Kaname: Trying to scare us? Mizuki: (Agitated) She was there! She was laughing and looking at us! Kaname: Thats good! Thats good! You actions were pretty good. Mizuki: Stupid, what are you talking about? This place is seriously dangerous. I'm going home... (Rushes off on her bike)
