  • If only all of Full Moon wo Sagashi-te was like this.

Izumi reveals that he was behind the whole scheme in order to make Meroko his. He assigned Takuto to take Mitsuki's soul once the date comes so that Takuto will turn himself into a ghost. The two fight, but it seems like in his human life, Izumi had a lot of fighting experience as Takuto was beaten down badly. Mitsuki still had no desire to sing despite pulling out of her near lifeless state. However, Takuto, despite knowing he'll turn into a ghost, remembers everything for Mitsuki. After Route L disbanded, Takuto continued to sing, but got a tumour in his throat, similar to Mitsuki, and committed suicide. He was given the eternal punishment of being a shinigami. Mitsuki was still not convinced, but Takuto reveals some more information, more specifically, her name, which boosts Mitsuki's confidence up again. As Takuto was on the verge of becoming a ghost, Mitsuki sings, which stops his transformation.

Another dramatical episode. One thing that is bothering me is why Takuto magically didn't turn into a ghost despite remembering his memories. Maybe he forgot them again once Mitsuki regained the desire to sing? Unless of course, Shinigami in Full Moon wo Sagashi-te have the ability to forget their memories once they've gained them. A plothole was left, but this episode was still excellent filled with a ton of symbolism that isn't corny. Everything; from the true meaning to Mitsuki's name, to the song Eternal Snow itself, and the fact that Takuto was twelve years old when he was with Route L. The most interesting piece of information is how shinigami are selected; presumably, those who commit suicide have their memories taken away and are created as shinigami. Plus, the fight between Takuto and Izumi aren't on the level of Samurai Champloo or Naruto, but it was an emotional fight. Overall, another awesome episode is delivered.moreless
