  • Aw, Ed you never change =)

You definately are going to be expecting a lot of comparison between the new FMA: Brotherhood and the old FMA series. So after getting over the intial hype of the fast paced, newly animated first episode, it's really the second episode that has to be kickass to really get the fans going.

Fans of the first series knows that there is nothing terribly new about the plot of this episode or what it reveals. But there is something starkingly fresh about it! The second episode is of course, much to do with the Elric's past as Ed reminecses of what happens. Fans of the Manga and Anime will be able to tell that the episode goes into more detail about the Gate and the Truth. The animation is simply superb as you're pulled into everything Ed is going through. You're also given Roy's flashback of what happens with a determined Ed in recouperation and of how he joins the military. To be honest as much as i like this episode the directors seem to be establishing the whole Elric's past and how it made them what they are today. I'm a big fan of flashbacks and i think this episode seems a little bit compressed as pretty much everything (the whole damn beauty of the story!) is packed into one episode. But because it's based on the Manga there is a lot more intricacy in plot compared to the original series so i guess it's trying to establish everything into place so veiwers are able to know whats going on without always having to hit the backpeddle and go to wikipedia right after the episode. All in all, i'm looking forward to where this go's :Dmoreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • After Ed transforms his automail arm so that it has a blade, Winry throws a wrench at his head. When he gets back up, his automail arm is back to normal, yet there wasn't time for him to transmute it back.

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Winry: (throws a wrench at Ed) Hey! You! Don't mess up my automail! You know how hard I worked on that?!
Ed: Hell, if it's half as hard as you throw a wrench, I'd be surprised!

    • Ed: (talking to Al while looking at a textbook) The celestial stone that destroyed the city of Xerxes in one night. The grand elixir, sealed away by the Eastern Sage. It goes by different names, but it's always the same thing: some kind of object that amplifies alchemy. And that's the Philosopher's Stone. If we could just get our hands on it somehow, I might be able to get your body back... Damn books! They tell us everything but how to find it!
