Hohenheim confesses his reasons for leaving his family to Ed.
Both Gluttony and Wrath receive severe punishments from Dante for their insubordination.
Envy's True Face as well as how he was created are revealed.
A lot of old familiar faces turn up in this episode.
This episode marks the third time that an episode ends without a preview of the next episode.
The opening statement for this episode does not have the usual background music.
We finally learn what happened to Tim Marcoh
Ed: But what I don't understand is if you and that evil bitch were so perfect together, why did you feel the need to marry my mother?!
Hohenheim: Because even if I lived for a thousand lifetimes, I could never do enough to deserve the gift of my children... you and Al.
Envy: Do you really want to see?
Ed: I don't think you could've picked an easier target!
Fuhrer: No matter what it is... you know you can talk to me, Selim. I'm actually quite good at keeping secrets.
Ed: Is that all you've got? ...Impersonations with guilt trips attached?
Pride: I think of myself as one of God's guardian angels.
Mustang: There's no such thing as God!
Pride: We can't know that for sure. However, devils do exist. They're the alchemists who dare to get in my way!
Ed: It doesn't matter who you are... If you work hard, it pays off.
Mustang: You've got a hell of a lot of nerve lecturing me about betrayal.
Briton's "Uncle Sam" Posters:
Recruitment posters are seen early in the episode depicting a man, Lord Kitchener, pointing at the reader. These posters were used in World War One and had inspired the "Uncle Sam" posters that were used in the United States.
Winston Churchill:
In London, Hohenheim is called to conference with a "Lieutenant Colonel Churchill," which is obviously a reference to the famed Winston Churchill (1874-1965), who best known as the Prime Minister of Britain during WWII.
During the time depicted in the series, Churchill held the position of "First Lord of the Admiralty"; he oversaw the development of various war machines and fuel deposits -- all things Hohenheim tells Ed this "other world" uses instead of alchemy.
