  • The story of the chimeras, foreshadowing of the Philosopher's Stone, and a new holy figure in Lior!

    10
Edward, Alphonse, and Marta are still out in the desert on their way to Ishbal. While they rest, Marta decides to tell the Elric brothers exactly how the Ishbal Civil War started, along with how her and the rest of her team came to be chimeras. That was a nice little tidbit of alchemic information.

Havoc finds the brothers out in the middle of nowhere and brings them to the military stronghold to talk to Mustang. During a meeting, Roy pulls out some photos to bring Ed up to speed on the situation that the military's been brought to resolve. In the photos, Scar is seen in his preparation to create the Philosopher's Stone by the military's new spy balloon. They also show him drawing a gigantic transmutation circle around the town of Lior. Ed goes behind Mustang's back and makes a deal with Archer to go in and scout Lior. While on recon, Ed is surprised to find that Rose is now being called the Holy Mother.moreless
  • Secrets will reveal in time to come. Lies. Lies. Lies shall be shown as truth and truth shown as lies. Section 5 will reveal it self. A new stone shall be made.moreless

This is not my favorite episode. You do not learn any secrets of Ishbal. You really find out the reason the war really started. The whole thing of "the under cover agent" is really old to me.

Giving what I have seen in the series, this episode is not any were near like any of the other episodes that I have seen. So I have given this episode an 8.7. I found the story plot to be good. I found that what it teaches you about the show is good. I only dislike how it does not follow the title of the episode.
