  • Parody of 1970s cop shows from the team who brought you 'Frontline', 'The Panel', 'Thank God You're Here', and the Australian movies 'The Castle' and the 'Dish'. ('Working Dog' are made up of former members of 'The D-Generation' and 'The Late Show'.moreless

This series was a near perfect imitation of the US cop shows of the 1970s, from the plotlines and 2-dimentional characterizations to the costuming, camera coverage and colour grading. However so much thought and effort had gone into recreating the look and feel of shows like 'Mod Squad', 'Starsky & Hutch' and 'Charlie's Angels', that the producers of this comedy program forgot to write any gags. The result is therefore more of a homage, than a funny parody and therefore disappointing given the other successful projects this team have produced. Notable absence of Rob Sitch from this 'Working Dog' vehicle.moreless
